Above all else, I want the game to be fun to play.

Originally posted by Icewhite Games that I had sometimes never heard of have been some of the most fun i've had with games. I can't describe what I find fun because I enjoy a really large variety of features, doesn't mean each game has to have it. Take for example Bulletstorm, I borrowed it from a friend to play something quickly knowing it was just another generic shooter and damn did i have fun with that game. On the other hand, I was just checking out Wakfu because it had some innovative features and some depth which I've been craving for in an MMO and I did not enjoy playing that game at all. People get too carried away with feature sets that they simply ignore if a game is fun or not, and it's pretty evident with most indie games who promise the world and deliver far from fun experiences. |

After the KOA Demo, Are you going to buy it?
General Gaming « General Discussion 1/21/12 2:12:47 PM
Probably not right away as I had planned, walked away disappointed with the demo. The engine needs some serious work and the overall game seems something from a few years ago. Also it does come out quite familiar to fable as well with the graphics and the overall feel of the game and I didn't exactly love that series much, mostly because the way it controlled on a PC which this game also suffers from. |

Runescape has you covered, but keep in mind some of those will take you years of playing to be able to buy. |

For a game like Archeage, why does these type of games take so long to get English versions?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/19/12 1:12:01 PM
From what I know, localizing takes quite a bit of time and publisher negotiations can also take a fair bit. Together they are the reason why many f2p games get patches a lot later than their korean counter parts. |

Which "Hero" inspired MMO has the LEAST demanding graphics?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/17/12 10:38:52 PM
COH has very dated graphics and should run on anything. The engine actually detracts from the experience in my case. |

Just an FYI, it doesn't show up under demoS on the steam website yet so use the link in the post. |

Originally posted by Lobotomist Haha I was just doing the bridge level before I just gave up, got a little further towards the tower but that was it for me. I myself searched this up and apparently quite a lot of people get this and ye HL2 seems to be a common game in regards to nausea. I still find it pretty funny how it works, your body feeling like it's poisoned. Quite interesting. |

So I was playing Half Life 2 Episode 2, ye I never finished it, and I kept noticing this uneasyness in my stomach which reminded me of the time I played the original campaign years ago but at the time I was sick so i though the nausea was mostly because of that. So I played various times in the day and noticed that within 20 minutes I would feel very nauseous and apparently this is motion sickness. I had heard of it before but never thought games would cause it, hell it never happenned in a decade besides this game so this really intrigued me. Has anyone else ever had something similar to this? |

How I lost a bet due to Guild Wars. Is it just me?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/16/12 3:38:57 PM
Any game I've actually spent time on and played always has certain NPCs that I remember be it for a quest, their location or their attitude. I didn't spend too much time on guild wars so I can't really remember the NPCs there, I can however recall the quests and the location they are in. |

Processor wise, unless you do other tasks that are CPU intensive and are able to use hyper threading only then go for the i7. A I5 2500K is perfect if your system is mainly used for gaming and saves you nearly 100 bucks. |

Trying wakfu currently, and will check out Star trek when it goes free to play tomorrow. |

Originally posted by flguy147 Not a fan of Assassin creed, they arent bad games but your money is better spent elsewhere. As for the witcher series and Dragon Age origins, they are some of the best games available. Origins is one of my favorite games of all time. |

Any genres/types of games your looking for? In general perhaps pick up some Bioware game like Mass effect and Dragon Age origins or try Deus Ex. Shooters wise check out Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2. |
|

Still day 1 purchase for me, Origin isn't really all that bad as people make it out to be in my experience. |

I agree, picked it up on the steam sale and it was my best purchase. It's a simple game but damn is it fun. |

Sometimes I cannot get addicted towards a certain mmo.

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but maybe try Atlantica online, it has a very nice combat system which requires quite a bit of strategy and thinking at the higher levels but the rest is standard MMO fare and I've heard the games cash shop has become outrageous now but I quit playing years ago. Another title I just saw a video of today is wakfu, I suggest checking out the developer Blog they released yesterday to get an idea of the game. Very unique game from I saw. Other than that your options really are limited, not many unique games out there and the ones there are have a lot of nagging issues with them. That said, the coming AAA titles are bringing much needed innovation. |

Crysis 2 has been the most intensive on my system, followed up by Battlefield 3 and Skyrim all maxed. |

My New PC - Performance In Most Games? (Specs Inside)
General Gaming « General Discussion 1/12/12 1:00:27 PM
Someone mentioned scaling back in Battlefield 3, no need. I have a similar setup to yours, and run the game at 50-60 FPS at 1080p with the settings on ultra. Crysis 2 on the other hand with everything maxed and the dx11 can bring my fps into 30s, other than that nothing else really goes under 50FPS. |
|
|
I don't play those, but the simple answer is they're free? Don't need a beefy machine or console to run those games comapred to Battlefield 3. |
