Lvl 14 as of right now and not really sold on the game. The game looks amazing and has one of the best worlds but its pretty standard fare. The combat isn't really all that great, can it be? Yes but its so damn easy and all the dodges and skills have a delay and can only be done while not moving which entirely breaks the pace up. Hell I just stand infront of all enemies and don't ever go under 80% health. The quests are your usuall stuff, kill this kill that but the stories are pretty bad...pacing needs work there.

All it comes down to is, it's a next gen korean grinder. Was afraid that would be the case but honestly wasn't expecting it since they kept saying they're westernizing it...little girls and those pandas isn't the way to go then.

I played on friday long hours and didn't see any lag at all.

Outside the starting area? Because there it was fine, it was when I got on the pegasus the game became unplayable.

I5-2500k, Gtx 560, 8gb ram...lower specs than you but was getting 80fps which seems to be the cap in starter town and right when you land in the main town I dropped to about 30 fps. Walking around in the town I'm usually at about 50 fps.

So yeh it is lower performance but nothing like the lag spikes you are talking about, performance has been amazing on my end running everything on high. I did hear another person complaining about performance on a 470, so maybe the problem is with the 400 line? but the general concensus seems to be people being amazed they can run it so well.

Wow and Aion had some of my favorites, AOC is pretty damn impressive too.

I enjoy them for fun every once in awhile but not a fan at all of the way they are a requirement to do anything at end game.

I thought ryzom's combat was actually the best, darkfall/MO combat to me felt very clunky and stiff. In ryzom you can fully customize your spells, sacrificing range for more damage or changing other attributes.

Pats with Manning

Patriots with Tom Brady you mean?

Could be any of the hundereds of f2p games to be honest, anything that was really different?

Hello Kitty Online, would love to see 12 hours of that. Have fun!

Haha just kidding, I would personally suggest giving some indie titles a chance to get on the spotlight. So play titles like ryzom.

Ye like the others said, rifts became an annoyance rather than a feature for me. After awhile they really just become a chore, but it's still a very solid game.

The first Mass Effect is my favorite but I have about 10 games that I rank extremely closely and are my all time favorites. That list includes titles like Dragon Age, Metal Gear, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 2 and God of war 3.

Guys keep in mind it's for their entire portal, not just one game.

Yeh, I usually do look at guildies/friends gear to see what combinations work for them or even a good opponent I face and try to see what they have going. Hell I inspect random people, even noobs for the sake of doing it. Call it curiosity if you will but it always interests me.

It hasn't been released, just to let you know.

I'm very skeptical, the design seems quite good on paper but then you have the devs in interviews always saying something else and not answering questions about features directly as if they're hiding something. Not really much hype from me for it until I get into beta and play it for myself.

Runescape: Wealth of side activities/ mini- games.

Atlantica online: Strategic combat

DCUO: No need to go back to NPC's to complete quests.

Wow: Fluidity/ feel of combat was great

After putting in considerable time to learn stuff and knowing people then you might be able to go casual but from the begining playing casually in my opinion wouldn't work out.

just looking at the screenshots I though - NO

it looks like WOW

You do realize that it's a single player game right?

No other company has the balls to, plain and simple. Much respect for Jagex for doing what they did, especially since it cost them quite a bit of money.

EVE online.  To me, this game is not fun to play.  All of the great tales I hear about this game are about the Meta-game, the "spreadsheet online" corporate interaction, economy manipulation, etc.  The meta-game though is made up of a number of actions taken in the moment by moment gameplay.  I rarely hear about the exciting time someone had mining rare materials, or flying 1 hour across the map to go pick up a purchase.  I've played EVE myself, for about a month.  I did not enjoy the gameplay enough to want to reach the meta-game.  Flying the ship wasn't fun, mining wasn't fun, "fighting" wasn't fun.  Over-all the play experience was simply NOT FUN.

All right, you defined (to you) what fun isn't.  Now define what it is.

It's just about the vaguest of all terminology ever used on message boards, even more vague than "hardcore" or "sandbox" or "difficult".

Games that I had sometimes never heard of have been some of the most fun i've had with games. I can't describe what I find fun because I enjoy a really large variety of features, doesn't mean each game has to have it.

Take for example Bulletstorm, I borrowed it from a friend to play something quickly knowing it was just another generic shooter and damn did i have fun with that game. On the other hand, I was just checking out Wakfu because it had some innovative features and some depth which I've been craving for in an MMO and I did not enjoy playing that game at all.

People get too carried away with feature sets that they simply ignore if a game is fun or not, and it's pretty evident with most indie games who promise the world and deliver far from fun experiences.

Probably not right away as I had planned, walked away disappointed with the demo. The engine needs some serious work and the overall game seems something from a few years ago. Also it does come out quite familiar to fable as well with the graphics and the overall feel of the game and I didn't exactly love that series much, mostly because the way it controlled on a PC which this game also suffers from.
