It is this "IhateWoW"-syndrom showing up again....

"Just because a feature is implemented in WoW it must be something bad so therefor it should not be implemented in this game!"

Just plain stupid, ofcourse a feature like duelling should be available in a game like Elder Scrolls Online.

It's similar to that other discussion that was a while ago about chatbubbles. Hey, make it optional so that those who wants it can have it turned on and those who don't like it can disable it, okey? -"Nooooooo, go back to WoW you moron bla bla..."

Big PvP battles are fun but sometimes it's just as fun with those smaller fights, sometimes even more fun.

Duels, arenas and being able to fight players from other factions in the World and not only in Cyrodill should have been in the game from start. (They should have atleast two server options)

This game is beyond help anyway so...

Housing would take more effort from the developers that are making Another DAOC game......sorry!

Showing off your things that you made in Skyrim's  Hearthfire (on steoriods) is something you can forget about. Same about inviting them to any local are network on you ps4/Onebox or for that matter the superior PC! It ain't gonna happen!

Next gen graph on Ps4 and XOne among friends or via PC! Nah, ain't gonna happen..... better make it:

200 VS 200 in ONE zone!

DaoC fanboys got what they wanted and the fans of ESO WITH FRIENDS got screwed!

Mark my Words here folks: It will no be a success!

To bad,

It could have been!

Nope, but in Sweden it is;)

Sitting here, in my little timemachine in 2016 !

The Elder Scrolls Online didn't succed as much as many hoped for, though it was not that big of a failure as some people predicted. But the game went free to play early 2016 with microtransactions still in place such as vanity items, XP-boost buffs, mounts and many other things.

Remembering the beta, people complained from the beinning, the starting areas were dull and alot didn't gave the game a second chance. Ohters however, subscribed and played thru the startings zones and discovered the beautiful world of Tamriel.

The game had plenty of subs the first months but they were slowly decreased and when Blizzard launched their new expanison for World of Warcraft late 2014 there was a substantial loss in subscribers. The game kept it's subscription model however due to a decent amount of l subscribers. 2015 and the game was very much alive but still loosing subscribers, slowly decreasing over the year.

The forums that had been semi-quiet for a while started to turn into a troll vs fanboy war...  People that really wasn't participating in this so called "war" were the casual players that were buzy playing the game.

2016: The subsribers had go down to minumum to justify a subscription model and in the very first quarter the game goes free to play!

Again, the forums explodes filled with both trolls, fanboys aswell as regular players scratching their heads wondering what the heck is going on...

Late 2016 and the game is still alive and kicking with a minor fanbase and will most likely be running for some years to come.

But the huge success as many hoped for was gone;(

The forum war itself is one story but overall one can see the most common issues people are having with the game is that:

It just wasn't an Elder Scrolls Game!  - Very common comment by Single player ESO fans.

People agreed that the Graphics were okej but only for the reason that they've learned about Graphics needs to be tuned down due to beeing a massive online game. Still, many did't like it. The world did not feel alive as their baby Skyrim did.

Alot of people now agree that it would have been awesome to play with a friend and invite him/her into his house and show off! Just like they dreamed of doing in Skyrim's Hearthfire DLC. But now, a housing on steoroids! And how awesome it would be to invite 2-3 friends for one of those great dungeons not to mention explore not only Skyrim but the whole Tamriel.

People are saying that they wished ESO was Skyrim online but with whole of Tamriel.  Most people think the three faction setting actually was okej but compromising too much, especially the graphics just to be able to pull of a DAOC style PvP in Cyrodiil and turned out to be  more of a letdown. Lots of people, however, clearly states that a second DAOC game would be really really nice but not as a highjacked Elder Scrolls Game.

PC people are hanging around a little bit more than the console folks, they're more used to online gaming overall and mmo's in general and are a little more forgiving to the compromises that'd been done but there are a minor crowd of console games hanging on though.

Late 2016 and the game lives as free to play but are generally concider to be a less success.

Goin back with my timemachine and starts to follow the game. Still currently in Beta and soon to be released on PC and later this summer on consoles.

Was my timemachine just a bad Dream? We'll see...  Hope so!

War, WoW, EQN.... I would prefer ESO.

Forget about it folks.. if a game turns out to have 1, yes one!! paying customer some crazy folks here on this site would consider it a sucess! (swtor a sucess?)

Now, will ESO be a disaster or not...? We just gonna have to wait and see... I hope it will do just fine!

People get hung up on the smallest little details. Chat bubbles are an imperfect solution to communication in MMOs that some people, apparently, think is the coolest thing since slice bread.

The future is in voice communications - something similar to what SOE is already doing in their MMOs with multiple in-game VOIP channels, including "proximity" channels. But yes, it will require that you RP with your mouth and not your fingers... hope you guys can handle that :)

If you want to see what this will look like, look no further than The Division:

While i think built in voice communication is a must in modern mmo, it has its donwsides too. Its generally easier to communicate with text then verbally in foreign language, in RP you have more time to think what to say in character, badass warriors with 12 yo virgin voices sound weird (not to mention female elves with old drunkard voices ;-)) to name a few. Besides, i notticed playing LOTRO that most people turn off voice communication so without chat bubbles i would be left with impractical chat box only.

I dont believe claims that most people turn chat bubless off. Dont remember being ignored in games with them like i am in SWTOR.

Funny, throughout this forum, people call ESO a WoW clone if it has any of the same systems, so they will not play.

Now people are demanding it to have features just like WoW.

ZOS cannot win. No matter what they do, someone will whine.

Typical crowd.

Even UO had chat bubbles so your comment is not only pointless but also a fail.

As someone mentioned Before, they had chatbubbles in online games over a decade ago and if they having problems to implement them in this game... well, then I will start to worry about the game Engine they're using.

And you're assuming that the reason they aren't implementing it is because they're having problems with it, exactly why?

Maybe they just don't want that comic book look... just saying.

Someone in this thread mentioned they were using hero engine. While devs claim they are using custom one now, its hard not ot see similiarity with SWTOR as ESO is one of the very few modern games that doesnt support the very same feature. Just saying.

1. SWTOR was full-on early version Hero Engine. This game used a better version of the Hero engine early on in   development - now they use their own engine. You're just spreading one year old misinformation that was addressed a long. long time ago...good try though.

2. Laggy PVP like Ilium's? Yeah? Where?  Not any ESO PvP I've ever seen. The opposite is the case.

Your ridiculous thread about a teensy weensy "issue" is now devolving into the realm of fantasy rumors. I didn't think it was possible to go lower, but here we are.

Oh and btw, I also posted another link that you ignored, the one to the SOEmote voice morphing. That takes care of any reluctance you might have about using voice chat. You can be a 50 yr. old male truck driver and choose a little girl voice.. if that;s what turns your roleplaying crank.

I mean really...  Are you actually putting all this effort to dismantle a chatbubble? What would be your loss Ise? Really?

Nah, some people seems to look at WoW just to see if a feature is in that game...

Both PvE and PvP servers - check    Oh noes, don't have open World PvP around the World.... I hate WoW!!!

There are an option to turn chatbubbles on or off - Check   Oh noes, screw chatbubbles.... I hate WoW!!!

Folks, really!?

They said the game will be available for pc systems that are 4-5 years old, so If you have a top-notch computer and wanna turn down the settings just a Little bit then how would it end up being laggy because of some chatbubbles? Or better, how could it be laggy at all if you disable them?

If a roleplayer, fan of chatbubbles, turn down the settings a Little bit, how would that effect you? I don't get it?

Voice?? Sure, I use voice when doing some harder encounters or pvp:ing once in a while when playing my games. Atleast about 10% of my playtime.

However, in questing, exploring, random events/dungeons/scenarious/battlegrounds or whatever I DO USE CHAT! And, if I meet a friend from my Guild somewhere in a big zone we usually say Hi to each other via  /say Hi   or /whisper Hi.  I have never ever experienced saying Hi in general chat when meeting a guildie out in the wilderness.

/general Miklosan: Hi Phantom

/general ChuckN1: Bye!!1! :)

/general Phantom: Hi

/genaral Lollypop: Hi?

/general XzzP: Comón stop your rp shit and come and kill this boss!!!! @ 52'73 asap!!

/general Miklosan: ....

Love or hate chatbubbles but the real deal should ofcourse be.....

Can't be that hard to implement chatbubbles and make it optional right? Or is that a difficult thing to do? I'm not a programmer so I don't know...

No chatbubbles = Another minus for me;(

Haha! This OP made my day!

Normally I prefer sub. 15 bucks/month is fine for me. But sure, I can play a FTP game aswell and pay a small fee for some newly released features or dungeons or so! No problem! But pay extra for another hotbar to put my abilities on..... hahaha!! I almost fell of the chair...

I'm glad aswell that ESO will be subsrciption model, for many reasons but I wonder if 15/month is the right way to go...

For me it's perfectly fine. If it's a good game than 15$/month is nothing. But some people might think it's a good game but not good enough for 15$/month and decide to pass. And if too many pass this game it could go FTP in a couple of months and if so... well, than the doom and gloom will be all over it.

Maybe a monthly fee of 5-10$ would be perfect?? Or, no fee for expansions?

But we'll see, if it turns out to be "Skyrim Online" and done in a very good way and they make Tamriel to feel like a living breathing World and not just a game... maybe we'll have a success! 15$/month or not.

Starting zones should be safe but after that one should be able to fight other players, yes call it ganking or whatever but those random pvp fights usually are the most fun.

Ofcourse there should be an option before starting your character:

* Yes, I want to be able to fight players from the opposing faction in all zones except starting zones. WARNING SIGN!!! People will be able to kill your character when they spot you!!!

* No, I do not want to fight other players except when I enter Cyrodiil.

And what ever option you choose you will have to stick to that option for a while. (ex: a couple of months before being able to switch again or to pay some micro transaction)

I would easily check:

* Yes, I want to be able to fight players from the opposing faction in all zones except starting zones. - Checked

Have read the warning sign. - Checked

* RP - Checked

* Group dungeons - Checked

I kind of like the Skyrim-ish look of Skyrim as in:

And I hope there will be variations throughout the world of Tamriel. For example, I hope they'll get this concept art of Alik'r Desert to look good ingame:

Speaking about graphics; I really wonder how the graphics will turn out to be on Ps4 compared to Ps3-Skyrim!?  Sure, the graphics needs to be toned down a bit due to massive multiplayer but on the other hand Ps4 is next gen....  Really curious how close the graphics will be.

In what area of Tamriel did you play in? Mini preview of that place?;)

Did you see any ingame map of the location, zone you were playing in, if so how was the map like?

Easy now, ain't trolling here or anything like that.

Thing is, I never played DAOC for example, I played games with battlegrounds/scenarious/warzones and arenas etc, etc... Sometimes I wonder how the pvp could be sustainable in a game like ESO where there are only PvP in Cyrodiil. And that it is a pvp with masses! I'm a bit afraid that it will mostly be a so called zergfest, wich is very fun for a while though (TarrenMill/Southshore) but is fun for long?, sustainable?

Hey, I read other peoples post every now and then and some people seems to praise DAOC's system. And sure, I think they know what they are talking about but in what way was it so fun in the long term? How did it work? What made it sustainable?

Now, I am looking forward to this 3 faction pvp aswell as the pve part in ESO, it seems fun. I just never played a game with such a system so therefor I wonder.

No poll?

P2P? Love it!

Perhaps our Emperor won't be "Tr``o´´ll``o´´lXZ0rZ" after all :)

True, there are "Tr``o´´ll``o´´lXZ0rZ"s in P2P games aswell but they  a little less...

Vielen Dank für Video, Grüße aus Schweden.

I missed those leaked videos, guess they got removed pretty quickly.

How close or far off do you think the game is compared to Skyrim on those leaked videos?

Where is the poll?

Going for Ps4!
