You guys play on Hammerine?
I am trying to connect with some people for grouping and stuff.
I made a character on hammerine, Her name is Raizajin. She is a Templar right now hopefully a Tempest one day.

If there was a perfect MMO, we'd all be playing it, but guess what, it will never exist because every player has different ideas about the perfect MMO. So with that in mind, you can take your high horse and sleep in the barn tonight for all I care. I'm not here to impress the masses, but rather point out facts. In case you haven't noticed, I'm one of the few people who post here that refuses to post crap like, this game sucks or this game rules. As for the WoW avatar, it's an avatar and no, I don't play WoW anymore and most likely won't ever go back considering Blizzard makes more money off it than most 3rd world countries make in a decade. Blizzard has become greedy, just like SOE and it won't be long before WoW finally gets the lack of attention it's destined to receive, hence Blizzards new mystery MMO. As for WAR, oh well, guess thats what Mythic Entertainment gets for joining the MMO killing behemoth EA. So just because I promoted what should have easily been a kickass game, but ends up being worse than their flagship MMO DAoC, I'm now a bandwagoneer player? Give me a break. DAoC will always be my favorite MMO but Mythic Entertainment refuses to fix obvious major flaws and now its basically dead. Before that, EQ was the only game I felt was worthy of being called an MMORPG. Every other MMO I've played since pretty much entertained me for 3-6 months and faded away. As for Aion, it's the closest thing to DAoC to venture into the MMO industry. Darkfall is a joke and AoC was a complete disaster. I don't know why it's so hard to figure out a good PvP system in MMO's but Aion is by far superior to DF or AoC. There you have it, Skydragonren's reason for ignoring me. Cause I tend to BS less on forums and play more in-game. Yet, somehow, I'm being labeled a bandwagoneer cause I move from MMO to MMO as if anything I have to say changes how the game develops.
My point to you is this, some gamers really do have crystal balls. Many of us and I do mean many of us have called the failures out on most MMO's released in the last 2 years. AOC - Hyped to oblivion and back, Avery used to hype this game like the second coming of christ. We tried to warn and he wouldn't listen. Failed. WAR - Hyped to oblivion and back, You hyped this one and backed it very hard. We tried to warn you on this one also. Failed. Darkfall - Not so much hyped as much as vigorously defended for over 2 months solid, after release but YEARS before that, even though we knew the game would be garbage. Noone would listen. Failed.
I also don't want to hear the argument of what constitues a failure, (I know you don't do this) but from others. To me if a game loses over 50% of it's player base within the first 2 months of release. You failed. On some level somewhere you failed your playerbase. AoC, WAR, and Darkfall all did this. In the case of AOC is was more like 70% of the playerbase.
Which brings us to present day AION. AION is nothing more than a shiney new wrapper on an already very stale market. It does nothing and is nothing new. It attempts to bridge the gap between the western world and the east. Is it a good game, who knows I guess some like it. Will it stick around, sure it will the above 3 mentioned games are still here. Though on many levels are considered massive failures by most. Will AION fail. Not completely, but It isn't going to be some megahouse MMO for the next decade either. Which is how it is being hyped on this site. Just like AOC, WAR, DARKFALL and the others, AION will be sitting in the corner in 3-4 months time with the others, wondering what went wrong.
Please feel free to bookmark this post, so in 3 months when I laugh at you all, we can refer back to it. Stay off the bandwagon, just because it's new doesn't mean you have to play it. |

Well I went to Valdes at first, only because I didn't know what Hammerine or whatever would be like, I envisioned trying to kill a reindeer and having 15 max levels taking turns raping me in the snow until I got pissed and logged. Course if you can level on that server without being ganked every 2.5 seconds until you can fend for yourself I will reroll. Which do you play on? and what is your in game name? |

Requiem: Memento Mori Completely changes the game
General Discussion « Requiem: Bloodymare 9/23/09 10:43:39 AM
Hey guys and ladies! Ok so I just installed Requiem last night. I make me a toon, make it a passcode get logged in and WOW!
I am sitting there thinking how in the hell did I ever miss this game on the radar. It doesn't break the mold when it comes to MMO's BUT what I think got me was the adult theme of the game. The combat and brutal nature of it all and the dark feel of the game has me hooked. Call me twisted if you want, but in wow when I kill a boar and it just falls over on its side and disappears = BORING! When I killed a ram/reindeer in Requiem and the damn thing explodes into guts and crap all over the ground, I was like awesome! So I played a Xenoa or whatever to level 8 before stopping at 3am this morning, was basically just testing out the gameplay and skills to get used to it. Honestly though I can't wait to get home tonight and see how far I can push it. Also the changes seem to be a positive, I know I have only been playing like 5 hours, but from the list of things it would appear the new patch would improve a lot of things, taking it away from the more asian grinder type UI and feel into a more broad player base. We will see, after last night, I was actually just considering paying the 12.99 a month for premium user, however I decided to play as a default user until I get to like 20 just to see if things continue to play smooth like they do and stay cool like they are. Hope to see you all in game!

Just a heads up, the GW trial is horrible. I think it has turned more people off from the game than giving motivation to buy the game. I love the game but I'm not a fan of their trial. I definitely think GW is the most balanced and best pvp mmo out there, if you like arena style play. It doesn't have world pvp or battlegrounds (well JQ and FA are sort of like battlegrounds) so if you are looking for that type of pvp you might not like it. However, you can jump into pvp from minute 1, no need for any pve if you don't want it.
Arenasb makes a good point in regards to the Trial, the trial is more limiting than anything. What I would do honestly since GW has no monthly fee, and you can play it for as long as you ever want just like a console game, just buy Prophecies. It is the first GW game without expansions. I tend to tell people to go ahead and see what started it all even though Nightfall is prolly the better of the stand alones. Prophecies gives players the basics, the building blocks of the game and gives you the background of everything you are doing. It is the beginning where Nightfall would feel like the end. I think you can get the box set now for 29.99 or something and prolly the Prophecies game for 20 bucks. If you just got Prophecies to start I do not feel as though you would regret dropping 20 bucks based off what you say your looking for. Just another suggestion. |

I would suggest just picking a class you think you might like, (Just test um out in the pve section of the game, you will know in 10 mins if you like the class or not) and focus on 1 or 2 classes until you build up a decent set of skills for a build and some good enchants and weapon enhancements. Once you somewhat perfect one or 2 classes you like, and can constantly win matches. Then branch out and start checking out the other classes. Assassins, Rangers, and Dervish are all solid choices to start with, as they tend to lock down and kill players quickly. Just a few helpful suggestions :) |

GW may be older, but the pvp is actually very well done. I also play wow and I know how you feel when it comes to looking for a decent pvp game. I would have to suggest guild wars until maybe Mortal comes out so we can see how that is. |

Nah it's cool, we get to pretty much surf anything except porn here at work, they dont care as long as the work gets done each day. I wasn't behind the VPN or anything when I tried to cancel, just normal ol internet. |
|
|
That is a good idea, maybe I should just go back to DAoC. |

Ok, so I am sitting here at work, and I felt like I was suppose to do something today but couldn't remember what it was.... CANCEL WAR SUB THAT'S RIGHT!!!! So, I zip over to the official site to do just that. Get to the homepage, find the little account management button.... there it is, click on that.... find that little cancel subscription button, found that... clicked on that. So far so good.
Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... Please Wait...... So, I'm at work on a ultra fast connection, and I can browse 35 webpages at once and never slow down, I can Download 40 files at a time and never see any lag. BUT I try and cancel my WAR account and I get 30 minutes of Please Wait..... right..... Oh look as I typed this I get a super cool page timed out message. This pretty much sums up Warhammer to me, it is even slow to cancel this game, which is about as painful as playing it. Well maybe I can get this to cancel before 10/13/09 when they decide to bill me again, which I think is the plan all along, they will time me out all day until I say fug it! Then hope I forget about it between today and 10/13 so they can suck another 14.99 from me. FUG YOU MYTHIC! I USED TO LOVE YOU! I LOVED YOUR DAoC! NOW GO FUG YOURSELF!!! |

you got me, the individual that uses bumper rails at the bowling alley is better then me. no chance of getting a gutter ball, err eliminates the higher chance of mistakes? The player that usses the most computer assists will always be better then me, the player that uses all the Download Cheats for any game will be faster and more efficient then anyone that doesnt use the cheats, like Mario game, unlimeted lives, you probably brag, "finnished the game in 20 minutes, im better then you" sports players that use drugs to inhance they're skills will be better then all those that dont,... or are they?, oh that cant be, if left to they're own skill, they couldnt compare, so, no they are not better then anyone, that person is just better then he/she was before they got the crutch. what it comes down too is i play the game without all that, you dont have to respect that, but dont go looking for respect for yourself just becuse your computer can multi task so you dont have too.
I don't need respect, I am a healer, I do the job required by the raid, faster, better and more efficient than you. Who is the raid going to take along, me, healing a full raid in 1/4 the time it takes you to change or target another player or you? Nice way to spin things, and good job calling things a cheat just because people are smarter at playing the game than you are. Healbot and Grid have been out for years.... Blizzard has gone so far as to take the maker of glider to court over a cheat, but your telling me they can't stop healbot and grid if blizzard thought these to be cheats? Good try, however Blizzard doesn't consider addons cheats, and to further this, some of the fight mechanics almost require them. Some of the 25 Uld and 25 ToC fights require at least 2 of your 4 healers to run these addons, because if they didn't there is no way in hell 4 point and click number pushers would ever keep 25 players up through the amount of damage they take in those encounters. Hell some of them even with all 4 players USING the addons, they still can't keep the raid up due to speed. Think about what you say before you say it. AND No I do not respect anyone in a game that isn't willing to do what is needed to get a job done. You can blast all you want about being all natural, but natural doesn't equal talent in WoW. Just means you are slow, and to lazy to go get an addon. The natural way is mistake and accident prone with sloth recovery time. The addon way, though you can still make a mistake usually doesn't cost 25 people a huge repair bill. Good luck being a bad healer. |

I am trying to figure out what game you are playing? #1 - Paladin Tanks are now prolly the best tanks in WoW after the patch. DK being second. #2 - I am a paladin healer. With holy lights criting up in the 20k+ range and I am a tank healer. It is funny that I know I out single target heal every priest I have ever played with, and heal the tank for 20k 20k 15k 20k 15k 15k 15k and NEVER pulled aggro.
So I am wondering, are your tanks super crappy where you play? Or are you just a terribad priest?
You do the math. If your tanks are good then there isn't anything in the raid that is going to take aggro away from them not matter how many mobs are on them. I will steer towards your server has craptastic tanks over you not being a good healer. |

Someone who is proficient with Healbot, Grid, Decursive ect. will always out perform the standard point click number pusher. The players using these programs are faster than you, produce higher healing numbers than you hell let's just say it, they are better than you. Regardless of what program they use to make it happen, they produce and outperform you in every area of healing. I personally wouldn't take a healer into any 25's unless they had the mentioned addons and were very good at using them. You can say your just as good of a healer as a player with these addons, but the fact of the matter is you are not. Human reflexes wouldn't allow you to be that fast. Which is why players use them. I am a healer, I use a modified version of Healbot combined with Decursive. I will also take the pepsie challenge against anyone who says they can produce the same or higher heal numbers and efficiency I can using nothing but a normal UI and number keys. I will crush you and do it every time. So long story short it isn't about using a crutch, it's about being a healer, and healers use Healbot, grid, decursive ect. |

Hello Everyone! Recently some friends of mine and I decided to try something new inside World of Warcraft. We wanted to be a dominate force in PvP but also wanted to get back to the fun in wow, and steer away from the hardcore raiding we had been doing over the years. I can't really explain how the idea came to us, but we finally ended up deciding on a paladin military type guild with each member being outfitted with a full suit of T2 judgement set (hence the name), and the Sulfuras, hand of ragnaros legendary hammer. Some of us already had level 80 paladins, but some did not. Just mid level ones, since the judgement armor is level 60. We decided it would be best just to lock all paladins at level 60 and dominate that bracket of the game, getting back to the Vanilla stage of wow. Those of us who had level 80 paladins rolled new paladins to take to 60 and lock. All of us have level 80 mains, which is nice because it allows us to farm all 3 raid encounters that the T2 set drops from in 1 night. As of right now we raid Onyxia Lair, Blackwing lair, and Molten Core twice a week, clearing all 3 dungeons twice a week. Judgement armor pieces are given to the 60 paladins for their suit and all other drops not related to the Judgement armor are divided up equally for repairs or just to sell for gold. All of the items needed to craft the legendary maces are given to the GM to craft each member a Sulfuras Hammer. Currently we have 7 members on board with this and are working hard to bring it to life. We would like to have more maybe settling around 20-30 range. We are capable of soloing Onyxia, 2 man Molten Core and 6 manning Blackwing. So we are capable of doing what I say. For more Information please visit our website at: http://pjwow.guildlaunch.com/index.php Our ventrilo information is on the site for anyone wishing to speak to us in person. Also being from Archimonde isn't required. If you wish to reroll on archimonde, and start out as a level 1 paladin and climb to 60 we will PL anyone willing to stick around to that level and lock the paladin.
Thanks |

Quest gave little to no exp and the best form of leveling was from A. Grinding trees in Lyonesse. OR B. RvR in the frontiers. Both grinds. So far 3 of my family members tested out AION, and several co-workers. All of which play wow for now. (I was smart enough not to waste my time after work to download it) It is very funny to me that not a single one of them is going to leave WoW for AION, and all but one said it was nothing more than WoW with some wings with 1/4 WoW's polish. The one that didn't say that, said it had "potential" but wasn't enough for him to leave WoW. I guess "potential" means it will maybe one day get better. Basically saying, why would we leave a good game for another game that isn't as good in any single area. Anyway, Teala, you aren't alone in your view of AION. Many people think like you.
PS. Gameloading you really shouldn't come on here and call people stupid. You have been on these boards for a long time, and over the years you have made several post I wouldn't exactly call genius moves. Just saying. I really love post like this. I really do. It doesn't matter if DaoC was a western grinder as her claim was that it was "Just another korean grinder". Even a blind monkey could point out the huge difference between a traditional Korean game such as Lineage and Ragnarok Online and a game like Aion. Your argument is rather silly. My family members didn't want to leave WoW for it so that means it's not a good game. A lot of people won't leave WoW for Aion. In fact, there are lots of gamers who won't leave WoW for any mmorpg out there. Does that mean WoW is the only good mmorpg out there? Ofcourse not. @knightcry
I do not let other's decide anything for me, I knew AION was going to be shit years ago when the videos first started to surface. When my 2 brothers tell me, yep nothing new to see here just same ol same ol bullshit, and I have been playing games with them for the better part of 20+ years, I tend to believe them when they tell me it's not as good as something else. Now if some bum off the street told me AION was crap that I didn't know, maybe I would blow him off and try it anyway just to see for myself. However that isn't the case, they know what I want. You presume to know me or what I think, I honestly do not like wow all that much and am growing quite tired of the game, I have been in a top 100 guild in wow for years now and it is getting very tiresome. I really do wish something would come out that could make me want to leave wow. AION just isn't that game. Also you make an assumption that I somehow hate asian grinders or "korean" grinders. I love korean games, I did a piece on here not to long ago as a review on ether saga. Which I liked very much. Ether saga is a grinder to. I have played them all dude, L1, L2 all the way down to shit not even out yet like Dragon Nest. It has nothing to do with that, it has to do with AION being no different than anything that is already out. Why would you leave one for another. For me to leave WoW you would have to beat WoW, and not beat wow in questing, or beat wow in bg's you have to beat wow in every single aspect of the game. Until a game comes out that can do that, nothing else is worth the time to download or the money. |
