So lets look at your facts Avery shall we. WOW had a staggerd release across the world, so unlike AOC not every county got it at the same time.
On Tuesday, 18 January, the game was released commercially in Korea, and by the following day had already reached a total peak concurrency of more than 100,000 players. North America on Tuesday, November 23 World of Warcraft sold through over 240,000 copies to customers during its first 24 hours of availability. The game has since sold over 600,000 copies in the region. So thats only north america and Korea in the first 24 hours of release in each area , excluding the rest of the planet. then came europe release! throngs of fans lined up in stores throughout Europe to purchase an estimated 280,000 copies of the game, with over 380,000 copies sold in its first weekend.
still leaving yet more countries through out the world to get there initial release.

have to agree with you on WAR there. it never really took much interest to me, mainly i thought AOC was going to be a killer game, but after i have heard the complete honesty that company has had so far with there users im willing to give it a go. fair enough they are cutting content but there up front about it. im my books thats good and im willing to spend some cash with them and time to see what they can do with it. |

well id certainly agree with you there. Shame really i had very high hopes for AOC , But after the contempt for its end users i will never be funding another funcom project again. |

Actually some people have good reason to bitch and moan. Just like the big G quotes steak and Mac Donald’s. Well most of us took a look at the menu. It said Prime steak, mushrooms, fries, onion rings, peppercorn sauce and a delicious bed of salad. What we got served was over cooked steak, ketchup, no fries/onion rings or mushrooms and a gone off salad. Now should we just say thank you to the waiter and say the meal was nice, pay and leave and not go back. Or complain and inform other potential customers the food is bad, the restaurant lied and not go back. End of the day funcom did not deliver what they promised, they had 5 years to perfect there meal and they failed. So why should a customer pay them more to get it right? Would you buy the restaurant a better oven in the hopes they get better? |
