Anything to take a jab at this game azrile. Yeah, we get it you don't like it. Can you please take Bodypass and take your trolling to another forum.

For the record, on release WoW had awful class balance. Warriors with 3.8 attack speed weapons 2 shotting everything, Paladins pigeon-holed into healing because their other specs were totally useless. Fury warriors outdpsing all classes by a substantial margin because of broken mechanics. There was no balance with WoW for a good while.

People forgot how bad warcraft was at release but are quick to take jabs at games that have been out for 1 MONTH.

WoW's a great game but saying that it was perfect at release or more balanced than Warhammer is just ignorance. It took warcraft a long while to find its feet.

Shall we call you pot or kettle me failcom  icon? :p

May the fact failcom actualy lied to its end users and treat them like crap.

They released a half baked half finished product which actualy did not include things stated on the box.

Mythic on the other hand have been upfront and honest about what they have done.

they have comunicated with its users and while war is not some peoples cup of tea they have been honest.

so yes he has a valid point , if you dont like the game why beat on it every opitunity.

What has mythic done so bad?

Nah, I'm simply saying your server isn't exactly representative for the problem and actually is a server where the problem will be undetectable since it's FULL :D So yes mentioning it is rather pointless where the threads topic is concerned :p

Infact it is very relevant because it shows that the OP`s server may well not be there norm.

There for gather information for every server , IE ever ones views you can make an assumption.

So you would rather base the opinion the game is failing and servers are stagnant because he chooses one server he claims to be stagnant?

Hardly a balanced claim is it.

if you still didnt saw that this game will die due population problems..

I read this far then stopped ...

Oh right so the server i play on is irellivant to WAR.

After all according to what your saying any data reported from my server should not be counted?

I didnt realise my server was excluded from the post!

Time for school is it

Yes the server population on my server is not increasing.

Because its FULL!!!!

So other new players are rolling on other servers.

Also yes the T1 area is becoming less and less populated because supprisingly players are advancing and moving on to T2 and beyond.

The mind boggles.

I know it's hard to look beyond their own little world for a lot of people but are *all* the servers at full according to you? :)

Learn to read ;)

So im to understand by your post , If the starter area`s become empty the game fails?

My opinion is that WAR is not good enough to compete with the industry standards set out.

Im really intrested in what you consider Industry standards set out to be exactly?

Because your basing you post on this,  it would be good to provide them dont you think!

Agree with Op.

the one thing where WAR really shines is the little things not the big ones.

They took the usual WOW style game, added all the little things you said to your self it would be nice IF ....... or wouldnt it be good IF ........

threw in alot of PVP and vola its a totaly enjoyable game if you play for fun and not eye candy.

well as far as i know the EU Early access /beta codes are still valid.

Unlike the US ones .

Not sure here in europe its supplied by ea but another company.

But knowing EA i can belive it.

I used EA downloads for battlefield series, but was not paying the price they had this for sale on the web.

So i found it on my lunch hour from work in a game shop.

ouch, next time get off your butt and buy it from a shop hehe.

Couple of notes after my first few days.

I deliberaly did not follow any hype or read any thing before launch, as i did with AOC.

So i bought this last week with zero conceptions about this game at all.

So basicaly im a totaly War virgin.

PQ`s =
Jump in and have a blast, every one wins.
Always a bit of loot from the reward side, which every time I think should i skip it or have a go i check the rewards vendor and every single time i spot some thing and think cool i got to have a go.
Rewarding to either grind solo or in a group.

Quests =
Quest rewards are all relevant to my class, (the amount of games I played to rewarded with an item I can’t use)
Group rewards are relevant to the group.
Personally I think the stories are quite cool.
Chance to unlock titles ECT from exploring and fulfilling quests.
I found my self at 17 going back and doing a full t1,t2 scenarios for another race just to see what unlocks I would find and gained 1 ½ levels in the processes in one night , purely from Quest xp.
I go round looking for new monsters and creatures just to add them to my tomb and see what they add and do.
Quests where you have to find x amount of items is wonderful, drop rate 100% oh I love it. If I need a wolf pelt I kill a wolf it actually has one, non of this kill 25 to find one.

RVR haven’t don’t to much yet went a couple of raids with my guild and they were a blast.

My char , seems there is always plenty of new amour to play around with and weapons to find and I have loads of new moves already.
Plenty of skills to play with tanking is great and oh I love the taunt its brill especially on pve.

Crafting, have to say personally its spot on , growing seeds I find and making pots from it, for the first time it doesn’t actually feel like a grind.

Crafting feels intresting then some thing i have to set my mind on and make time to do.

Graphics are okay but the game play is spot on.

" We contact company management for CFO-level
discussions of cost functions, capacity utilization and business
outlook, further refining our thesis.

They also deal with funcom, thanks for your misguided info though.

Yes i thought so mate,

Well i was supprised that funcom made  ZERO from box sales, there revenue is only from a percentage of subs.

wouldnt like to be in there shoes and yes they droped a right bollock on there expectations.

So all those interviews where they claim we never expected so many subs ie 400,000 yes you bloody expected alot more.

Initial coverage :- executive coverage. April 30 2008.

makes an intresting read :)

uniteconomics.com/files/Funcom_Initiation.pdf

So what did they expect :-

we expect Age of Conan to have 546,750 subscribers
at the end of Q2. Our earnings estimate for Q2 is for a breakeven result, as Age of Conan is launched
more than midway through the quarter.
We project that 10% of the initial subscribers will stop their subscriptions in Q3. This will be more than offset
by expected game sales of 120,000 in July, 80,000 in August and 60,000 in September. Once again, we expect
that only 80% of the purchasers of the game will become subscribers past the first thirty days of their purchase.

At the end of Q2 2009, everything should change. Funcom is expected to release
their first expansion pack, We expect 200,000 new unit sales in July 2009 for the PC, followed
by 90,000 in August and 60,000 in September - ending the quarter with 1.05 mln PC subscribers.

intresting info for people working out costs :-

Under the distribution agreement for Age of Conan in place with SCi/Eidos, Funcom will not receive any of
the proceeds from the physical-world sales of the game.

Funcom will pay a royalty for the use of the Conan name, estimated to be 6% of subscription revenues, which will be included in operating expenses. In addition, Funcom has outsourced server farms for the game to IPsoft, a global outsourced network and systems infrastructure support company whose client list includes Time,Canon, Revlon and Macy’s.

The cost for server outsourcing is believed to be $2.00 per subscriber per month.
In addition, Funcom is outsourcing customer service and support functions for Age of Conan. This ‘Live
Team’ is expected to cost just over $2.00 per subscriber per month. Marketing costs for Funcom are expected to be 14% of total sales.

The total variable costs for Age of Conan subscribers should be $7.50 per subscriber
per month.

I didn't ask for your opinion but every thing you wrote is bullshit acoording to ME.

You have ofcourse every right to think as you like, but do not post or quote a post just to troll or hate even more.

/please

Dear thark ,

This is a public forum any thing you post is open to quote or comment, thus its a forum.

So yes im am fully entitled to quote who ever i like as long as its not a personal attack falling with in forum guidelines, so there for you are incorrect.

As for calling what i said bullshit, im now calling on your credibility!

Is it incorrect if you try to perform a combo to fast it fails?

Is it incorrect the areas are boxed in and have invisible walls to stop you venturing out side much of the landscape?

Is it incorrect that other games have far more content geared towards roleplay with features i stated?

Rather than trolling i mearly pointed out where your post may be misleading to others!

Even if they are you views

As for Hateing the game/company what have i to gain loose?

Well funcom stand to loose money so there bound to lie.

Fanbois they just want more players , with out more people they have no raids / guilds and the game dies.

For me i like to make sure other gamers know the truth about a game with no sugar coating before they buy, its called being part of a gamers community.

WoW was fun to play even in the release, AoC was not. WoW was more polished even if it had its problems. AoC was like a alpha version at release, and still I think it is.

You forgot to add that this is your own personal opinion..

During my 2 months in AoC all that was mentioned in the global chat was things like "omg this is so much better than WoW's launch"  and this was by people stating they'd spend years in WoW..

Id have to agree with S1GNAL , the only problems i had with wow was with servers being busy or going down.

But then again no one not even the gamers expected there to be so much interest, also the fact the server hardware was not as resilliant as it is today.

other than the i thought release was awsome and nothing like AOC.

As for WOW graphics i liked them, im in to anime and graphics, they had a vision and they deliverd it very very well.

As for AoC global chat i never once saw this.

I like AoC for it's breathtaking world, with so high detail never been seen in a MMO before.

Pitty your boxed in and cannot explore it

I like AoC for the fast and furious combat.

Pitty your combos fail if you actualy press them two fast! thats not fast and furious its dumbed down.

I Like AoC for trying to be somewhat unique in the MMO world with it's combo system.

Add a few extra buttons to mash not exactly unique.

I like AoC for the use of fatalities, every time i get a fatality I'm reminded why I like AoC so much.

minor cosmetic for me oly fun first couple of times.

I like Funcom for trying to create a better roleplaying experience than the rest of the MMO crowd. Even thou this is not complete in all areas they still get's my blessing for it.

so when did the player housing apear what you were able to furnish? able to have unique buildings? GM`s that actualy took part? hold in game events from the company?

(few games i know do these things)

I like AoC for creating some unique classes, like the Herald, a superb melee mage.

unique i disagree , un blalanced and standard classes with name changes

I like AoC for it's twink based combat, makes PvP something very special.

you want real twink based go to wow ;)

I like some of the quests and adventures much much more than many of the other MMORPG's out there.

so you get a quest and you get an arrow pointing to your objective and its hand held every step of the way, oh thats great!

As with all the good stuff there is things I dislike aswell naturally.

I dislike that there is actually only "one" way to go in Tortage, even thou the class quests differ, you will still end up killing Strom in the end anyway.

And in some of the negative feedback so often seen on this forum I partially agree, there has been alot of bad choices made from Funcom, promisses not fullfilled etc.

Well, this is "WHY I LIKE AOC"

Flame away, that's what you all do best :)
