I quit playing WAR a little bit ago, but I had a lot of fun in the game most of the time. With a slightly new dev team they seem to be making some nice improvements with the new city raid thing. Thing with WAR is the end game as with all MMO's, is just same old thing over and over, with WAR unfortunatley the lack of a full world hurts it even more. Since it is broken into Tiers, you can't have fun harrassing a town in lower level areas etc like you can do in WoW. I think the lack of a full global like world hurts WAR more than is realized. The shrinking player base makes the game useless during non prime time hours as well. In a PvP based game, having full servers is critical. They mind as well just go down to two servers or something if it can keep them close to full. |

Most MMORPGs comming from the far east development teams, Korean, Chinese etc.. are mostly all lousy generic piles of grinding boredom. About the only thing decent to come from out there was Guild Wars. |

Online First Person Shooters compared to MMORPGs

Yes like your going to get a real objective poll results in a GW2 forum. I'll just leave it at that. |

Why are some people so sure that FFxiv is the messiah of teh old school?

When it comes down to it all that matters is the game fun and enjoyable to play for all types of players. WoW was successful because it was fun, and solo-able for just about any player, at least until end game, then it nose dives as do most MMO's. |

Will FFXIV Have the WoW Factor?
General Discussion « Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 4/01/10 12:36:37 PM
I would like them to take some of the idea's of WoW lately, like an auto Dungeon group finder for casual players, yeah you get some jerks randomly but it is a great idea over having to play to guild BS/or taking 2 hours finding people to run a 20 minute dungeon. I don't care about hard core or whatever stupidity people talk about, bottom line is the game fun to play and worth the monthly fee is all that really matters. |

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: Re-Reviewing WAR

That is correct, I followed this games development somewhat, it origionally was designed to be mainly a scenario based game with some open RvR in the form of B.O.'s and that was it, but they changed course part way into development to make it more focused on open RvR. |

Final Fantasy XIV "Serious Rival" to World of Warcraft

They do need to implement the random dungeon party system WoW just put in not long ago, that is a great idea and this is one idea FF should copy if they want to copy anything from WoW. It beats standing around waiting to get a group together or having to rely on a guild and plan your life around a dungeon raid.

True test of player skill is when your opponent has access to the exact same abilities you have like in Darkfall.
Actually the gear imbalance at end game makes the PvP unbalanced in WoW more than anything. Biggest fault is they went crazy with the gear stats, just to crazy. The classes themselves do ok with gear being about equal. I have to agree though once you have classes in a MMORPG it always means imbalance and PvP then has to be looked at as a team game as much as raiding is. |

Blizzard CEO calls shipping an unfinished product, 'devastating'
General Discussion « Mortal Online 1/19/10 8:40:02 PM
What he said should be common sense but apparently, greedy corporate jerks thinks the average person is an idiot and will keep buying unfinished hyped up junk. WAR and AoC stick in my mind as two of the most unfinished MMO's I played, but then again I haven't played many at launch other than those two and WoW. Both AoC and WAR were clear cut lies about the product being finished. |

I'm not sure how this is different than WoW or any other MMO? They all have kill x quests and return to me. I personally don't think there are anymore in this game than any other MMO, what they do have too much of is travel quests, back and forth accross the zone constantly or into another zone. I don't ever remember traveling so much to complete quests in other MMO's. |

Say as a guy with a sword doesn't have a longer attack reach than a guy with a dagger? or a dagger guy doesn't have more attack speed than a guy with a sword?

General Discussion « Mortal Online 2/17/09 1:08:27 PM
Yeah there isn't a lot of screens or actual gameplay movies. I know the dev team is very small only like 20-30 people I believe, so that may be part of it. |
