It says something else, though. It says tech investors think EQN is worth investment, not a bunch of hollow promises to the public. I'll still likely be getting on board if there's offered a $15ish/month sub. I still really think the concept is innovative and they're trying hard to bring something different.

I think they're more interested in H1Z1 and Planetside 2 honestly.

=-) H1Z1 and PS2 share a lot of tech with EQN. But EQN also has Storybricks and Voxel Farms Tech that could change how we game. Even if they dont care about EQN I am sure they want that tech. EQN could change how we game. I really hope their new owners keep their word and leave Daybreak as independent. If they really become Indy, this could really blow the roof off this place.

EQN isnt going to change anything. Voxel farm is hardly even a player in the voxel scene anymore as more and more games are making their own engine ( being passed by IMO ). And Storybricks is just an easier way for devs to link multiple scripts and outcomes to an object / NPC or whatever you want. It doesnt makes AI think for themselves.

Landmark IMO will be cancelled.

H1Z1 will get even more absurd cash shop items.

EQN will go into early access around July / August and also have and absurd cash shop right off the bat.

PS2 will release on PS4 and then be ported for XOne at some point.

An investment company is basically going to try to milk everything they can and if they dont get enough they will start cutting people and games.

The graphics are pretty poor looks like. Looks like an HD remaster to be honest about it. It is on PS3 too so that could be it but I have a ps3 and games can look much better that what this is showing.

Well I would likely do some download version rather then a retail box, unless there was really some kind of bonus that actually made it worthwhile to do the box version?

You do know that the only thing in the box aside from a few coasters is the serial key?

I don't see how a download is any different than the Box. . . .

Some people buy the box version just to have the box. I have a big collection.

I like HotS, it's a good take on the MOBA. But I'm not sure who's bright idea it was to roll out early beta (or was it "alpha") invites a couple weeks before WoD launched. Seemed like a bad idea, cause I was playing it and having fun, but then WoD happened and I haven't logged into HotS since.

The next WoW xpac is almost complete? Really? I'll believe that when i see it.

I'm not very impressed with Overwatch, not sure why I should want to play it.

I'm not sure what to make of D3 members working on StarCraft themed top down warframe, moba, L4D, wtf kind of game? I like warframe tbh, but I'm not sure what all those games jumbled together means.

It probably wont be top down. They may be going for a crack of a Warframe version of Starcraft Ghost.

I think HoTS will be fine.

The next WoW Expac may be 'done' but they are waiting on art and that could take months.

I have never like Team Fortress so I doubt I will like Overwatch.

Dont like the news that some of the D3 team has been moved. Hopefully the next expac is still on its way.

The game is bad. That is all that needs to be said.

First piggy backing off of the " Craft " word play and then piggy backing of another well known named game series with " Scrolls ". The douche doesnt have an original bone in his body.

This is a joke thread , right?
I guess some people live and breathe the MMO they play.. The first 3 months I had 1 character above 20 ( 21 ) , 2 characters below level 10 and 1 in the mid teens. I think the game has plenty of content but if you just rush through it you will miss most of it.

Actually - Hardware bans are pretty easy to bypass.. Its all in the registry :/

They should IP ban too.

IP Ban? The vast majority of connections use a dynamic IP meaning it randomly changes. So even though it is a small chance IP banning someone could as early as hours land that banned IP on another player.

IP banning doesnt work and suggesting it makes it obvious that you are clueless.

SOE only cares about the exploits now because they are just now getting less heat from the air drops so they have to puff their chest out and act like they are going to be heavy handed with cheaters. What it comes down to is Money and PR..

I am not sure if I like guards being unkillable.. It is most likely required though.

''Access to all downloadable content for the duration of membership''

I would consider that worse than the boosts. What this means is unknown right now, but content shouldn't be gated in this manner. That kind of thing should be reserved for an expansion only.

Unknown? It has already been explained.

The entire base game along with 1.6 will come with the game purchase. That is a huge amount of content.. The DLC they decide to release later on will each cost money OR you can have a sub and get them all. Pretty obvious and it isnt bad at all.

What does no "major" updates really mean, no housing, no new zones, no new epic quest lines?

I've read several post regarding this but none seems to really answer it, does this mean ESO will put in sleeping mode after update 1.6 with only bug fixing in the future?

There will still be major updates, but they will not be free to everyone. After the transition to B2P, you'll have to either be subscribed or buy DLCs to receive things like new zones, thieves guild/dark brotherhood, new major content in general. So, as long as you sub, nothing will change, if not you'll need to buy crowns to spend on DLCs. Housing is "at the top of the list", according to their recent reddit AMA. That will most likely not be a DLC, but we don't know for sure yet. Epic quest lines haven't been mentioned. ZOS will still be actively developing the game, and I expect we will see major updates shortly after console launch, but probably not before.

Except they have said they will continue to do free content patches for everyone too. I think it all depends on how much more money they will be making though.

I dont think subs will drop. I think they will increase.

1. Even now there are still new players coming in after the B2P announcement.

2. Some previous players are also coming back now.

3. It will be cheaper to maintain / have a sub for DLC if you wanted.

4. The Crowns you get for subbing will add up over time for you to buy any possible expansion or to buy any DLC you want to keep if you let your sub expire.

Looks great.

Edit : Though this style is starting to wear really thin on me. It bothers me less if they have extremely good animations and tons of little things.

I took it as " No more major updates until everything is settled ".. Meaning once they make sure the console release is in good shape and release a few DLCs then monitor their income to decide how often to do major patches. I mean only a major patch or expansion is going to work when they expand the provinces more. We still only have a fraction of the planned game world.

I think they want more people to subscribe. It is more predictable income and those that choose to buy  DLC instead of subbing supplement it.

Communities don't make decisions how to develope games, designers do that. And we all know how many opinions there are amongst the mmo communities. These games are changing all the time, and because of WoW's success other games want to copy features their developers think are the reason for WoW's popularity. Sometimes the change is good, sometimes it's not.

Those who don't like the current iteration of WoW are simply afraid of their current game to become 'a wow-clone', and for a good reason; this has happened to so many older MMOs it's not even funny. How many of our modern MMOs have linear questing, cut-scenes, level and and stat based progression, instanced dungeons and raids, finder tool, etc...?

We talk about these features being 'a current industry standard', but they are that only because the biggest MMO implemented them and others have copied them. No one can say they are mandatory for a successful MMO, nor can anyone be sure they are the reason for WoW's success and popularity, and there are loads of people who dislike these features.

So i would fix the title as "WoW is harmful for non-WoW communities and games".

How can you possibly place "level and stat based progression" in reference to "games becoming a wow clone"?

I just wanted to point out it's a part of the package when you design a modern MMO, not so much a game being a wow clone for having stats and levels. There are lots of other ways to design this but developers are not willing to take risks and deviate from this design choice.

That is because the most successful MMOs have used those systems. Why change what has been proven? There is plenty of other things that can change to make games better besides just removing levels and stat progression.

Well, perhaps someone at can do us a favor and clarify exactly what happens when a subscriber stops their subscription. From what I've read, you still have access to everything you had when you subscribed, including all the current content. So that means, if you subscribed past the launch of a DLC update and then unsubscribe, you will still have access to that DLC update as if you had paid for it.

Subscribers do not pay for anything other than the subscription and additional "crowns" for the cash shop on top of the 1500 they get each month with their subscription. This subscription model is closer to LOTRO than GW2, so perhaps we should stop comparing it to GW2.

I am pretty sure if you cancel your sub you will lose access to any DLC that you havent purchased. The sub is there to be a cheaper way to get ALL of the released DLC.

Before B2P I thought ESO was the best MMO on the market and with B2P that means more people to play with and to sell things to. I expect a big population for consoles.. Though I wish they came up with another name besides Tamriel Unlimited. And judging how often I get asked " When is the next Skyrim coming out " there are many people who dont even know what The Elder Scrolls is much less Tamriel.

How would everyone feel if the DLC they release is instanced for solo or group play and they no longer expand the world of Tamriel? No more world exploring , no more public dungeons etc.. Just queue up a DLC zone and go.

That would be a big mistake IMO.

To the last poster...

The whole "REASONING" is because SOE is a VERY large operation with a LOT of overhead. They cannot simply take time to polish a game anymore, they also do not have the cash flow they once had, matter of fact they have been on a steady decline for a long time.

I know a LOT of onlookers NEED cold hard in writing facts but really if you pay attention to the Industry at all you should be able to read between the lines.

I believe the real reason behind dude leaving was because SOE no longer wanted to spend resources and time sharing ideas with the public, they want to just  move straight ahead any way they see fit to stay within their budget.

I also believe their reasoning to change mid stream was because of Voxels. They saw a NEW trend in gaming and wanted in on it.Then to pay for the added license they decided to just release an empty world have gamer's pay for their license in that empty world and PRETEND it was all a plan to have a player created world.

Yes i do believe 100% that SOE is constantly looking for quick cash grabs to fund EQNext,i do not believe for one second that Next is being fully funded outside these other games. It is being funded BY these other games. They also created that lol ALL ACCESS pass as another gimmick to add more cash.

The LUCKY thing for SOE is this rubbish effort of a game called H1Z1 is going to make them far more money than i or them could have ever imagined.SO just like Blizzard cashing in on KungFUPanda ,SOE is cashing in on the Karl Poppa Undead TV series.

It does not look like SOE can be very creative so my query as to weather they could become more creative has been tossed out the window.Voxels nor the Zombie idea are creative, they simply jump on the bandwagon. It is like expecting Blizzard to make a TCG game W/O Warcraft ,or a MOBA w/o Warcraft lol.

I will point out that the Warcraft universe had the Pandaran before King Fu Panda was released.

But I will agree on the rest. Both Landmark and H1Z1 is SOEs attempt to jump on a bandwagon that they were really late getting to.. I think they made a mistake with EQN using voxels and zombie games are still big so they should make a lot of money with H1Z1 even if the game is never good ( like all the other zombie survival games ).

All I know is I play RPGs and MMORPGs to have a character that possesses abilities I do not and will never have. I play to progress that character to great strengths and obtain even more abilities. I do not play so my character is hampered by my own ability to aim. If offsets what an RPG is IMO.
