It seems most over there want a fee that is more than $15 a month and at least $20 and some want even higher or much higher. .. SMH. I guess those players just want those on the forums to play the game? Some serious elitism / entitlement going on over there.. Or just plain ignorance. It is hard to distinguish the two. Probably the same people who thought the $50 a month EQ Premium Server was a good idea.. It wasnt.

Who wants to play a game where there are only 6,000 accounts because the fee is $25? With 6,000 accounts there MIGHT be 1,000 people on at a time IF that many. How is anyone supposed to get anything done with so few players? 

IMO the fee should be LOWER than $15 a month and not higher to start. Just because that is the standard doesnt mean every Tom , Dick and Harry MMO needs to start there. Start at $9.99 a month to bring in a good amount of players and to polish content over the first year and then raise the fee to $12.99 or $14.99 if the quality of the game has improved. Those that started from the beginning are grandfathered in at $9.99 while new accounts would be whatever it was raised too.

At least they decided to hold off on it for now. I still dont understand though..

H1Z1 is going to be a free to play game.

People have already paid to be in early access testing and development.

Now they want to add a subscription to a game mode.. In an Alpha of an eventual free to play game. 

Does anyone think they would do this if that mode wasnt so popular?

It also shows what so many people think survival games are and how they play them like a traditional shooter. Get rid of the zombies and turn it into an MMOFPS Runningman ( remember that movie? ).

They have to be hurting for funds to even try such a thing.. In Alpha no less.

The times I play as a female character are if the male models and animations are terrible and/or the armors look better on female models of the class I want to play.
The last I heard the plan was for items to have weight but not coin.

The 1.6 combat changes didn't really change much as far as animations go. The combat animations are still just bad. I play a DK and I can melee mobs that are way out range of my actual reach with my sword it just kills my immersion for this game.  The quest stories are not to bad but the combat is just awful. 

The combat is like that to take ping into account. Did you just start playing online games?

I love a lot of the ideas im seeing in this post and you're ideas are fresh.  The one thing I want you to take into consideration is the term " is the juice worth the squeeze ".   The core concept of a death penalty is to punish the player enough that death has meaning and enhances game play by introducing a stress factor.  My personal thought is that you don't need to introduce gimmicks to accomplish this.  That time could be better spent on creating more epic quest lines and introducing new content.  The challenge of running back naked to recover gear and items is one that promotes socialization naturally and has many benefits.  Asking a player for help should not be a bad thing because this opens the opportunity to make friends.  Your systems seem a lot more solo play centric which is why i would stray away from them.

Fresh? Not really. Those are just going back to what death penalties originally were.. In games that were all about community.

How are either of those 3 or a combo thereof solo centric?

That is the default color

"Console versions will cost money monthly for PSN or Xbox Gold" is what I wrote. PC is free, if you ever stop your console subscription you can't play ESO.

Right, and that would apply to both versions.

The point being the console versions have an extra subscription needed to play.

Are they buying a console just to play ESO? No? The fact is if they own a console they are ALREADY paying for PSN and LIVE for the games they already have. Over half of PS4 owners subscribe to PSN for example. You are trying to make it sound like the fee is just for ESO and it isnt.. Or maybe you just dont know much about consoles. 

Buy it right now just in case the price increases tomorrow once it officially goes b2p.
There is one type of quest they talked about that could create a zone wide event based on how / choices made when you complete the quest. That could be interesting. Reminds me of the Stitches quest from WoW.. remains one of my favs in any game.

You can transfer from pc to console if you bought the game before some point. I cant remember the date they said... Someone will have to post that info.

The PC version is always on sale somewhere. I usually see it in the 15-30 dollar range.

Very nice. Hopefully they get some TV spots for console launch. My recommendation for it though would be to play the well known TES music at the beginning also..

I have an old PC about 5 years old with a Nvdia Geforce 580 GTX. May be it looks better on  better systems but everything I wear looks like that.

I think the armor on the right looks pretty good, better than in many mmos I have played, but that purple suit on the left looks bad.

 

The daedric amor is pretty weird though, can't understand how that happened; its meant to be the most badarse gear in elder scrolls universe right?

And I am sure some people out there like the purple armor and dislike the green.

Sure you can... Gear should be earned, not bought. If raid gear was freely tradeable to anyone, that would result in so many negative consequences to the game.

 

Every boss that dropped a valuable piece of gear would be perma-camped by chinese gold farmers, who sell the gear on the AH and then sell the gold online. Overtime, the game would basically turn into P2W, and whichever player purchased the most gold would have the best gear.

No you cant. 

How is killing a monster for an item any different than someone saving up enough gold to buy that item from a player or guild? Both earned it in their own way.

You cant piggy back off of crafters and other player trading throughout the whole game and then turn around and lock out those same players from access from end game item trading. It is pure stupidity and the only reason you or anyone else would want raid items Bind on Pickup while keeping everything else open is to feed your superiority complex so you can brag about your epeen.

Full trade is good for the community.

I always took it as the rise of the fallen of the style of MMO that Pantheon is going to be like classic EQ. 

I backed this game a long time ago with fond memories of Titan Quest in my mind. The game was supposed to have been release ready sometime last year.. They may be half way to that point now.. maybe.

To bad the game is extremely boring.

The skills are boring.

The classes are boring.

The art is boring.

The particle effects are boring.

The animations are extremely poor still.

It isnt nearly as good as Titan Quest.

Not a bad idea... Transmuting a magic item into EXP or AA. In the old days of MUDs / GMUDs classes like Barbarians could break magic items for extra exp.

Did you play EQ2?They had those and they just duped around the mechanic and seemed nobody cared,players just love to ruin games for self satisfaction.

My personal feeling on the subject,i think it is dumb,what is the logic behind it?Is the logic that the gear somehow molds to your body then when you remove it ,it melts away into nothingness?Just as you shoud lbe able to add and remove gear at will,you should be able to trade it,sell it or share it.

The only reason SOE used it is because they don't have a clue.They were worried about transferring over to alts or selling them on ah making them less rare and easier toget.Well all you had to do was LOSE the altaholic design and make drops  actually RARE.I found loot in EQ2 was way too easy to come by,i would have every single bag full of legendaries within a couple hours of game time,then have to waste countless hours cleaning my bags out.

I can compare the two since i played both for many years.in EQ2 a rare felt like it was NEVER a rare,in FFXI a rare might take you 1/2/3+ years to get and some still never had some of the desirable rares after 11 years.That is the difference between rare and just easy mode access.

My point?Well if they are worried for whatever reason abotu binding,then just make the items actually RARE.you know really tough to come by.They probably need help in how to accomplish that type of design,i can offer my services free of charge.

It comes down to it being a simple way to remove gear from the game instead of having items be handed down over and over again. It is a bad mechanic though IMO.

If anything is to be bound then I the most I would want to see is Bind on Equip + Account Bound on FEW items so players can hand down gear to other characters. I can also see certain quest rewards like Epics quests be bound.

All in all I want items to be in full trade. No binding at all if possible.

If a casual player gets enough gold to buy a raid tier item then let them. If a higher level player wants to hand over a piece of gear to a lower level character to help them out then let them. It promotes a better community IMO and Pantheon being a niche game will need that..
