When people start taalkking wwith percentages you know something is up.

Like Turbine when they started throwing around percentages with DDO and the " 500% increase " but then never mention the base number. It just sounds better.

With this.. 25% doesnt seem like much work to get but it really is in the games current state.

 Since the labels evolved back in the days of Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online, when most people labeled themeslves as PvPers and the PvP griefers as PKers.

Then someone forgot to send the PKs, Noto-PKs, Antis and every other variation of PVPers in UO that memo.

I am not taking what has been posted over the last couple weeks very seriously.

There has been many videos posted and other " preview reviews " done by other players. Most of which came back with a " its boring unless you dont mind harvesting and building being the only thing to do " and the videos were pretty hilarious to watch.

Then this board was dead for a long time. And then *POOF* the first page was full of new threads.

Smells like marketing to me.

Looks ok.. But I prefer the new look.

Also.. Just by looking at the screenshots the camera was probably going to be a pain. What was up with some of  those terrible angles? No wonder they revamped the game.

EQ2 is probably the worst looking game with terrible performance ever released. Even when it first came out I thought the game looked pitiful... especially the character models and animations.

The only ex-employee of Mythic that is worth anything is Matt Firor.

You can trace back most features to the first Online RPGs that came before the likes of even UO by years.

Looks like the devs wanted to churn up some interest for the game again.

When playing the game I get the feeling that these guys were once TES Modders and thought they could use gamebyro to make an MMO.

I was surprised too... Surprised how bad it was.

Of all the talk of having a huge budget they come up with one of the worst world designs that rivals Warhammer. It was clearly not a high priority IMO.

Boring World = Boring Game = Laughing Stock within a year. Just like Warhammer.

Darkfall sucks.. get over it already.

Alganon to replace DAoC? Haha.

Try Regnum Online instead. Very similar to DAoC in mechanics.

Lifetime subs are bad for the game and the people who pay it..

Look at LoTRO.. It got where so many who were playing the game were lifetime subs which really cut into the money that was coming it. Then going F2P just screws over everyone..

I am sure the majority that voted for EVE have never even played the game but voted for it anyway to keep another game from winning.

Sounds REALLY good. Casuals will whine about it though so I don't know how long they can stand their ground and keep the system that way.

 

But this MMO is trying to break the WoW-fest MMOs. Here's hoping its something at least.

Yea those casual gamers sure whined about it on UO with all those gate spells and recall runes. Terrible I tell you.

Teleporting has nothing to do with casual.

Rift suffers from the exact problems WAR did and thats terrible performance for many people. Course just like WAR the game runs fine for some and since it runs fine for them everyone else much be lying. Right?

DAoC was able to use it well because the tech was not outdated then and they used loading ' lines ' to keep the world from being totally open. The loading was real quick though so not a big problem. Thats why Beth had to use different cells for Oblivion.. The engine just isnt that good at handling an open world. And probably why the world in Rift is so dang linear.

Another UO would be nice..

An MMO based in TES would be cool.. Being able to travel to all the lands would be sweet.

For 15$ a month one could become a VIP member of Lord of the Rings Online which gives you more bang for the buck than any other F2P game out there.

I think phasing is a better tool than just a server wide change because every player gets to experience the happenings rather than just a handful.
