Oh. I had read that they gave 7 free days to open beta testers till the 18th. I could have read it wrong.

So i started the open beta download last night.

It then tells me i have to wait 20 hours to download this unimaginably large zip file.

I leave my PC on all night, so it would download, come back, the next day at around 5pm, have about 7 hours to go, then all of a sudden. BAM! Firefox has an issue and needs to close.

I restart firefox and redo the previous sessions, and it turns out the whole download restarted, but this time at like 23 hours left for download time.

This is by far the worst open beta process i have ever been through. WARS open beta startup and download process makes Age of Conan's look like the Shire on a nice breezy cool day.
 

Hopefully the retail game will be handled much more appropriately.

So after a week of waiting to download since the dl servers were always full, i decided to get in queue. I have been in the queue for over an hour and a half on an estimated 1 hour download time.

Last time i got to the download section, there was over a 19 hour download time for the game so i said screw it, it must be a server error or something.

Hopefully when it comes to the download i will not have to wait.

So sad though, there should have been a better download system in place.

*** FYI; I do not use dial up, and i have a fairly advanced PC.

It's a hit or miss situation, sometimes the reporter gets lucky and gets the person banned.  Other times, very very very rarely the reporter will get slapped on the wrist for wasting a moderators time.  It's my wish that the latter happened more often than the former.  But, I don't think it will ever happen.

Funny too when the person that complained about being called the petty name tells you to grow up. Too funny.

Believe it or not, there are some super geeks out there who will literally sit in their computer chair in a basement, roll over and fall asleep on a couch or bed, then wake up and get right back to it.  While unlikely, it is possible for someone in the effected areas to be completely oblivious to major news like this.
