Dark Age of Camelot: Re-Reviewing Camelot
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/03/10 2:29:18 PM
DAoC is a great game, even by today's standards. It should be more popular than it currently is though and i believe there are two major factors that scare new players away. 1. The Interface. When a player who has played WoW or EQ2 comes and tries DAoC they are going to be downright disgusted at the terrible interface. In my opinion the interface has cost DAoC countless potential subscribers. After so many expansions and content that's been added in the years i am really surprised they haven't updated what is, in my opinion, DAoC's weakest feature. 2. The subsription fee. It's just too high. It's the same as the big MMO's like WoW. It's no wonder new players don't want to stick around. Personally i think the cost is worth it, but when you consider how old the game is and it's low playerbase it makes you wonder why Mythic hasn't reduced the fee. It's probably too late to think about re-vitalizing DAoC, but re-designing the UI could go a long way to attracting new players. |

Why aren't they updating the gfx engine?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 12/15/09 3:31:01 AM
Graphics do not make a game worth playing. If they remade Big Rigs Racing (the worst game ever created btw) with the most awesome up-to-date graphics but the exact same gameplay would that make it any better? No. How long do you marvel at a game's graphics anyway? The first half hour? Maybe an hour? It's not long before you don't even notice how good the graphics are in a game and your just playing it because its fun and has good gameplay. Right? When they added in realtime shadows to WoW i was like "that's pretty cool". Do you even notice them anymore? Does it impact your gameplay? Does it make the game better? You can see where i'm going. |

What is it with MMO advertisements and hot CGI chicks?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/22/08 7:24:07 AM
Is anyone else getting really fed up of seeing every single MMO advert out there with some hot CGI chick wielding a huge sword or crazy asian hairstyle? It's not just that but the other day i was browsing looking for MMO info when i saw an advert for an MMO that claimed i could "Fight monsters in a 3d world". Really? I did not know we were technically capable of that in 2008. Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's the 3468648723 new MMO's that are released every day that are completely and utterly worthless. Or maybe it's the plethora of F2P MMO's that seem to spawn overnight that always look exactly the same and always boast the same features. And other catchy titles like "Join the quest" "Make new friends" "Explore a beautiful world" "Fight evil dragons". Come on people -__________- |

Greetings.
Since i am on the trial i cannot make a post on the official forums so this is the next best thing, i hope someone can help me out. Basically i want more or less a pure rogue but with a little bit of ranged skill (using bows). Now i guess i should multiclass rogue/ranger but what i need to know is at which levels i should take rogue or ranger class and how many of each would be reccomended. Remember that i more or less want a pure rogue with just enough ranger skill to make it worthwhile. I have pondered for well over an hour at the different feats skills etc available to the ranger/rogue classes and its just so difficult to put together a build that i am satisfied with, im needing a more experienced view. Any suggestions are very much appreciated, thank you. |
