While for most of the internet that's true, sales figures for sites like Amazon.com and the other gaming place mentioned here, are not going to be lies.

If Amazon is lying about what they're selling online, then they're going to be in some seeeeerious trouble down the road.

 

Well, I respect Amazon, but I wouldn't bet that they are always saying the truth. And really, they are not legally bound to say the truth in lists like that, so its just their good will you are trusting.

Why in the world would they lie about what position Age of Conan is in the selling charts? The idea that the listing is not accurate is absolutely absurd.

i would put some money down on Mythic releasing WAR this fall.

if WAR were to be released tomorrow  it would be more stable , have more content and be a hell of a lot more fun then a recently  released MMO . 

i can't go into details or any thing but WAR is in good shape right now . a few more months of testing / adding content  ... i think we will see more then just beta testers playing WAR this fall :)

Never really tried WoW, but I've tried a number of different games...and nothing seems to catch my interest.

And then there is WoW, a game that has been out for a very long time now, and has a huge fanbase. Apparently, the game is very polished and "finished"...atleast moreso than Vanguard.

But it seems very late to jump into this game, are my worries ill-founded?

Loving pretty much all aspects of the game, and I'm only lvl 4 (adventurer and diplomat, havent even gotten to crafting yet lol). The thing that is pissing me off is I'm a ranger, and the arrows i have to maintain sucks...but whatever. Im just going to buy like a thousand next time im close to a merchant.

ANYWAY, yeah the game is not very polished. I am running on a mid-range laptop that played LOTRO at medium settings at a constant 30~ fps. I have to put everything down to minimuim in Vanguard to have a good constant FPS. When walking in to the treehouse doors, you see some screen tearing issues. Character models leave A whole lot to be desired, ect...

So what's with the lack of polish? The game has been out for like 18 months now right?

Thanks for the reply's, and took some advice and did some more research of the game. I found a lot of hacking videos on youtube about Vanguard, is hacking still a problem in Vanguard?

Downloading presently by Direct2drive.com, the file size is 6.6 GB.  Cannot wait to play this tonight, have heard a lot of good things, and this will likely be my primary MMO atleast until WAR comes out. Am i going to be patching a mighty portion tonight? <- not one of my 3 questions btw.

The three questions I have currently are....

Which server should i play on (most populated, im in San Diego, CA if that matters. Not into PvP servers when it comes to Vanguard) ?

Which class should i play if i love Ranged DPS, and want to be able to sol, but not scare away groups/guilds ?

Which craft should I take, does it matter which ranged DPS class i choose (i.e. good fit for the class as you can utilize items you make)?

I agree it's great for balancing, but it also frightens me a bit. How about the guys who make  6 alts on day one to save names( and obviously they have to be the same faction), will those be counted towards the overall count?

If they create a cap, \it better be a dynamic cap. I.E. say the split is 1000/1200, and they axe character creation for group 2. Then it goes 1200/1200, open it up to all characters for a week or so, then reanyalze the position and set a cap from there.

Any other way would simply limit the servers too much.

EDIT - oh, nevermind then.

Be it F2P or P2P, what are the MMOs that do not require you to make 10 different alts to play 10 different classes? I know crafting is more specialized due to the market and such, so I'm not realyl concerned with that aspect. Just interested.
