Who finds this is more entertainment than mmo?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/05/12 1:18:15 PM
I unsub'ed just the other day for the following reasons. 1. even with the spacebar thingy i couldn't listen to another alien or anyone else talk to me for 50% of my playing time 2. PVP- Was fun at first then i started seeing level 40+ fighting me at level 14. I know they nerfed them or whatever but I thought how fun will that be for me at 40+? Not sure why they did this it was just blaaah 3. Did not feel like an MMO And thats about it, it was pretty and fun for a few days but got old very very fast. |

Anyone else find this game exhausting?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/05/12 9:47:38 AM
yes SWTOR got old for me so fast it isn't even funny. Kind of sad because i wanted something new and was very excited about this game. Now I find myself canceling and waiting again for the next one, most likely TSW, then GW2, who knows anymore. |

Just starting to look into "TSW" again because the release is coming up in a few months. I got caught up in the AOC hype and played the game a for awhile and enjoyed it for the most part. Of course it had it's issues just like any MMO does but I will have to say that it did at least try to be different, combat combo's of course is one thing and the graphic are AAA. I don't however think anyone can bash a game just because it's Funcom. I'm sure they have learned a few things over the years and to be honest who out there is making anything epic and new? Tried SWTOR and yes they tried but I feel like I'm talking more than anything. Can anyone honestly say a company is making an epic all new mmo? The only one i see even trying is Funcom, yes they may fail as they did with AOC but give them a break everyone at least they are trying and not just throwing us a WOW clone. So I'm try TSW and hope they do well so we all can enjoy an awesome mmo and have fun. But I'm not going to blast any company for past games or for at least attemping to give us all something new. |

Are you kidding me? No SWTOR is not a single player game there are flashpoints and quest that you CAN NOT do alone. I know this game will not be for everyone but for me, at this moment, it rocks. You will have the hatters and the fanboys posting all over for the next few years so just deal with that. As long as there is enough at end game I'll be playing SWTOR for a long time. I'm 6 or 7 years on wow, did aoc, war, rift (best of the group) and just about any other mmo that has came out just trying to stop playing wow. I'm happy to say that I have now deleted wow from my computer and I'm happy :) |

The upcoming WoW Exodus: Good or bad?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 11/02/11 10:02:44 PM
to the OP..wth dude? you bring up a subject and are like, "this isn't the place to do whatever about this here" and are like, ok i want to talk about his more but don't talk about it or whatever..wth?
wow is no longer adding subs..period!! (not counting adding countries) doesn't matter if they bring in panda's or dumb down their now easy game or talent trees, which should now just go away because it's all cookie because they made it that way.. All Blizzard is doing is trying to hang onto subs as best they can, and it's not a bad thing for business, it's just how it is. Actually until Netflix i've never seen a company move in a direction to totally burn themselves more. Short term, they are doing great and if you ask me they are just buying time for whatever new mmo they have coming and even killing WOW for the hardcore players so that they will all move over to whatever new MMO they have coming out in the next couple of years. I mean Blizzard isn't dumb..actually it's pretty cool watching how the fan boys are trying to hold on and the others are just like, really? do you hear what your saying? lol anyway, i hope blizzard does come out with something new because even this is getting old.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to say this because for some reason I can't log onto the Forums in FE, servers must be down. When you went F2P i downloaded and am trying to see how much i like this game. I can see the servers being down every few days or so (if you tell me that's the case you freakin lying) but omg, they are down all the time. I see you are trying to fix bugs and whatever but let me break this down for you. I log on and play the game, everything is ok, im learning new things and figuring things out because I'm a noob. But after time and time again i come to log on and the servers are down? it's not the little bugs or this problem or that, it's the fact that I can't ever play because..hmm servers are down. Stop trying to fix every little problem and let people play for a awhile..sheesh.. I'm about to uninstall this game, not because i hate it or anything but because I can't play it, servers are down, servers are down, again and again. omg i never seen anything like this. I was even thinking at one point to move on to the 10 bones a month and play but I'll have to hold on that because who wants to pay $10 or 15 for a game thats always down because they want to do something with the servers. Guys this is just nuts, calm down, take a deep breath and let people play for a few weeks. It's like you don't even know that even "wow" players get a little ppppfff'ed every Tues morning, you guys are just wooooooo..out there with the server being down thing. And i know you have someone reading MMORPG's forum's so deal, stop this sh_t.

The PVP in Rift is fine for the game being so new. WOW has been around like forever and they still don't have balance so what makes you think that Trion can do it in a few weeks : / sheesh. Everyone seems to be having a great time PVP and PVE in Rift and I'd have to say it's been the best start for any MMO that I've seen. |

Only 29 servers for headstart - fewer than in Beta.
General Discussion « Rift 2/25/11 12:44:56 PM
I was in Beta 7 and there were more servers on headstart day and they had to open even more, they opened five more in just one hour at the heavy time, around 7pm est. I give Trion a lot of credit because they have done very well |

Just wanted to make a small point here. I've been in beta and played many MMO's that have came out over the past few years and I've never had a great new game come out and I almost missed it. AOC, WAR was all over MMORPG with interviews, write ups, just everywhere. Got into open Beta 7 in Rift and was totally blown away. Then came early access, yes Que times were long but Trion was adding up to five server an hour to allow players in the game. I've nerver seen a better launch in my life. And the buzz is about them hitting 1 million yesterday and I believe them with how many servers were coming and and totally full. So I come on MMORPG this morning thinking this has to be all over because it's the best MMO launch ever. Well what I get is Tera, Earthrising and some D&D Quiz...lol Just think MMORPG is better than this and they need to give some love to Trion and Rift because it might not be for everyone but there will be a lot of gamers checking it out.

Me and my RL friends have been in Beta 7 and we were all blown away. First the Hype of this game was very little, as a matter of fact it almost made it under my radar. We have all canceled our "you know who" subscription and have now purchased Rift and ready for Early Release. Don't get me wrong because I dont hate, that game gave us many years and a lot of funny stories to tell. The last exp which brought everything back full circle and seeing the same old thing just killed it for us. It's time for you know who to create another MMO because Rift is going to take a base away and if Trion is smart they will not listen to a lot of user and make it so casual like "they" did. |

Not sure what you've been smoking dude but I want some. The hype from Rift is nothing like most of the games you listed. As a matter of fact it's been so low key that I didn't even look at Rift until open beta. Played them all LOTR, AOC, WAR it wow those were over the top, special not for AOC it got blasted all to hell. So to point out, been on WOW for 5 years, back and forth from all these listed, AOC, WAR, tried them all but when back to WOW. I can say that we are really enjoy the open beta of Rift, it's just different and does take what everyone likes or liked about MMO's and put them here, so I'm cool with it. |

this is easy, you don't like dungeon finder? *picks up the phone attached to pack on his side* "let this person not use dungeon finder and be able to use their brain and spam chat to pick up a group" *hangs up phone" done :) (allstate ad if you don't know) |

I just left WOW for the last time. Yes i did leave and try everything, WAR, AOC, Aion, whatever, AOC is the only one that remotely interest me. But this last time, me and my RL friends were like, lets try end game, ICC. Well we have geared toons, got into a guild started running ICC, and ran ICC again and again and again...WOW is a great game but come on, blizzard can do much better than this. Maybe it's because I've played WOW for over 4 years and just burnt. I wish everyone well and hope blizzard makes some changes. Just can't run ICC all the time but it's all there is to do. |

I can answer this very easy. I was there at launch and left, came back after about 6 months and left again, came back another 4 months later and left again. Now i'm back again and totally loving this game, population is very good, guilds are growning and becoming active and things are buzzing over at AOC. Now why is this? some has to do with server merges but a big part is that this game is fun now and it actually is the way it should have been at launch. I'm hooked and will be an active player for some time. |
|
|
I've just came back to AOC and yes it's has changed and is totally worth playing. I've left WOW for the final time and will be totally into AOC. Now AOC isn't for everyone but i can't honestly say, because i was there, that they did a great job at bringing this game to the level it should have been at launch. |

MMORPG did keep their reasons for this limited in a very short post. I would have to say they are really just voting in the game that sucked the least, maybe. We hope as i'm sure MMORPG does also that 2010 will be a much better year for MMO's, crossing fingers. |

I just wanted to make a statement here, or maybe it's a question. Why when someone post something negitive about a game everyone calls them a Troll. It could be something as simple as just stating facts about why they dislike a game and you will also see someone or even a gm say they are trolling. Why even have forums where everyone is so up and positive about everything and every game, it's kind of stupid if you ask me. |

I have to disagree with you on this and here is why. Any MMO marketing group has a pretty close idea on how many players will be hitting the servers at launch and NCSoft even had open beta plus early access to help them even more with the numbers. This has happened with a number of MMO's launches. The launch is bad they have X number of servers, clients do not renew at the end of the month and people start falling off servers. This is the primary reason for server mergers, not because they had too many at launch, i can't think of one time that this has been the case. |

thanks for all the good responses, agreeing and disagreeing with what i had to say. My primary point is this. Any MMO today has one chance really and that's launch. setting up over the top amounts of servers on the farm, adding too much bandwidth so you do not have any issues. Is this too much to ask? the gamble to me is not worth it after so much has been invested into a LONG term business plan. Cutting cost up front only to miss out on the much needed satified customer does not and will not make any sense to me. I go to the resturant example. The new restaurant i stand in line, very nice people and enjoy some chatting as we wait. I make it to my table (login) the waiter comes up and says very nicely, I'm sorry be we are too full to have you here, now i need you to leave and go back outside and wait again. I did not get to have the delicious meal i waited so long for, i did not get to see my waiters nice smile as he came back to serve me my order, and i did not get to have meanful comversations with my friends as i enjoyed my meal. Will i go outside and wait again? most likely not, will i come back when they are less busy? maybe but the food will never be like it could have been that first opening day. how sad

I know most are having issues with Aion and it was a pretty smooth launch as MMO's go. Before everyone flames about what I'm about to say I have been to a couple, WOW, LOTR, AOC, WAR and now Aion. My issue is why does everyone say this "the game just launched there should be issues" or "it's an MMO and it's new we all knew there would be issues". What is beta for? why do any testing at all? Yes if i spend $50 on a game plus $15 a month I want to be able to play it and enjoy it. If i do not get to play and enjoy it I'm going to log onto forums and tell everyone I can that the game has issues, maybe saving some poor douchebag 50 bones. I do not think we should go easy on any business that doesn't give us what we pay for. These companies risk a lot , for what? for us all to be happy? NO, they risk a lot to make millions of dollars off each of us every month. So i see no reason not to EXPECT a company to put out a product that works and have all issues taken care of that they KNOW will come up. Server Ques, Gold Farmers, Lag, Performance. just to name a few that seem to always be the ones they just seem to overlook. whatever.
