Blizzard's BattleTag is the best idea I've seen in a long time.

its pretty good. How annoying is it to type in 10 different names and they're all taken on something like yahoo. |

You know how it is in grouping, and this repeated experience the whole party sort of pummelling one mob. It doesn't quite seem right. (not that it needs to in gaming) Surely a different mmorpgs may provide the challenge whereby your group is split up in a dungeon, each sort of facing their own challenges to sort of refind the rest. Or maybe there's Crystal Maze- like tasks to accomplish? Of course there's shortfalls of the idea but it's a little bit of difference of challenge to the same old all-on-one-mob. |

Why Can't MMOs Be Intellectually Challenging?

mmorpgs still have a cynical perception

How many people do you know say: 'They tried X and could see how addictive it would be if they continued past the trial' 'They've tried X but heard of it's addictive reputation so are not going to subscribe' |

the graphics aren't timeless like something like FFT, they are dated. What's most dated is the mechanics however. It will be interesting to see an Everquest:Next. |

ah thats great, thank you. |

Driving in America. On some roads is it possible for attention to be devoted elsewhere like on your mobile phone? I'll explain, I know an American who joins a chatroom. And is using this irc while driving. Explaining that it's perfectly safe. To us Brits, it sounds crazy but I'm aware you have very long roads with not many cars on them at all. Is it safe? Or is this person taking risks? |

So when did Real Money Trading become okay?

freemium is everywhere now. It's a popular model not just for mmos. |

any mmorpgs actually had 'guild wars'?

As part of it's main gameplay? |

there seems to exist a belief where since it has 10 million players, and has a lot of polish- that it is unconceivable people can dislike or hate it? Eg, there will be people that dislike it- same for any movie, any game- some people may dislike Tekken or Soul calibur- even if they're quality or played a lot by people- there's also a lot of people that don't go on them. However, I digress. I think the main problem is the lack of quality mmorpgs at the moment. That is probably part of irritation. Hopefully with these new ones around the block- maybe this will be change. So people can talk about other mmos, than be resentful of WoW being the only A+ one. |

Which mmorpg should it be- make your argument. |

Where did the arguement that MMORPG are getting easier come from?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/11/11 1:27:53 PM
It could be more challenging in the older mmorpgs. That doesn't say easier/harder. Just more challenging. Whether that's a good, or a bad thing. In terms of a tedious hell level, it would be a bad thing. In terms of say having every class to be in their toes to handle a tricky camp, while having to mana manage, and every class play their roles correctly, then that was probably a good thing. Oh secondly. The other aspect being talked about is seemingly 'legwork', and whether that made a better game or not. In some ways it was, in some other ways it wasn't. And there we go a balanced view. |

from the screenshot- I like the looks of that. |

not thrilled by it's graphics but it might be better than eq2, which is half a reason for playing it since the original EQ is too dated, and EQ2 was completely off the mark. |

LoL has a good quality that mmorpgs suffer from- gameplay. But to have no guild system in LoL, (or even inbuilt voice system) mmorpgs just trump that. It's inexcusable, and one of the reasons I stopped playing the game. |

haha that's pretty good. |
