well AO uses Leveling and preset classes but its considered a Skill system. Levels don't mean much in that game its basically just a way to get more skill points.
Basically by class system i mean something similar to WoW, the "lead me by the hand" class development. Some ppl enjoy those games cause it takes next to no planning other than a simple CLass tree spec and respec.

I feel bad for all you Pre-CU players..... Sony has to be the biggest helmet wearer, yellow bus riding fool on the planet to ruin a awesome game like that.
Such a beautiful sandbox ruined by tard Devs :( |

Class system = games like WoW, LotRO, FFXI, EQ2 Skill System = games like UO, Eve online, Runescape, SWG Pre-CU.
(i'm bored at work) |

Ive been playing Eve online for a while now and havent seen the population over 25k on the server during my normal playtimes. Making a new server isn't needed. |

AoC will be a niche game with 200-300k players If the Devs fix the problems it might cap around 1-2 million. Why hate on other MMO's i don't get it.
If AoC is fun its fun lets leave it at that.
Oh and who cares about Dx10 Vista blows!!!!!!!!! |

You guys need to relax. Not every MMO is going to be as polished as WoW. Why totally rip a MMO if it doesn't have ten million subs or if it falls short of being a WoW killer. News flash people a MMO with just 100k subs makes money we don't need another MMO high school (WoW). I don't get why MMO's can't just Co-exist why must we always talk about a MMO killer.
PS. I don't play AoC lol Just a MMO fan in general.

I have gotten tired of the Lead me by the hand MMO's Ive left WoW and other simple MMO's. I'm currently playing EvE and AO both are deep and have sufficient learning curves. Im wondering if you guys know of another MMO i can try. the game could be a fantasy MMO i don"t mind.

I don't think I'm an MMORPG player all of a sudden.

F2P will never work. P2P is the only way
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/15/08 2:49:00 PM
While i personally enjoy P2P games more the F2P aren't bad. Perfect world, Cabal Online and Silk road are good games. These F2p companies have shown they can make a profit with cash shops. As long as theres money to be made F2p Games will always have a place. |

Who says all WoW players are kids?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/15/08 2:20:18 PM
I'm almost thirty and I played WoW on and off for three years. WoW has a horrible forum community and the general chat trolls are just as bad. WoW is MMO highschool. A very polished Basic feature MMO that people of all ages can enjoy. With 4.5 million players ( i don't count the micro payment players in korea ) your going to run into idiots.
to seasoned MMO players Idiots/immature crowd = kids

Man i was a big FF fanboi (FFVI FTW!!!!) i have never played FFXI but if it has a storyline similar to the old FF games i would give it a go. my only worry is the smallish playerbase, how do players get groups in a forced grouping MMO if no one is in the low level areas.

Hmmm that sounds interesting. WoW has a faction conflict but to be honest nothing comes of it. Most players just sit on there butt waiting to zone into a BG,arena or scheduled raid. It makes the world feel lifeless. Thanks for your post I will check out DAoC. |

Anyone else have trouble sticking to one MMO? Personally I jump from WoW to Guildwars to LotRo to Anarcy Online. I would play WoW for a week straight leveling my druid and building a dungeon set only to get bored and leave the game for three weeks. Pvp with my dervish in GW till i bought a cool skill and then switch to Lotro and level my guardian for a couple days.
Maybe MMO's aren't my thing. Maybe i need a new MMO . Is my playstyle normal?
Oh well let me know if anyone is similar and what games you guys are messing with.
