will you complain that you wasted a couple of years of training and have to start with a total noob toon?  oh, but it's human-avatar only skills, no one will have any of those yet.

yes, even if they release 200 new human-avatar only skills, you will be starting with stats averaging 5-6 points each and others of us will start with stats in the mid-high 20s.  this means my training times will be much quicker than yours and i will be quite proficient with the human-avatar skills whilst you're still mastering the basics.

plus, we'll be skilled in all the pod-pilot skills, including things like science, trade, etc.

 

that is, unless you believe one of the other intarwebz-spaceyships games will be better than eve?

Eve's going to have human avatar skills? can you link the info for that please so I could read it while giggling like a school girl.

Um MO calls itself next gen on their website, as does DF. THEY ARE next gen if sucessful... and no one talks about MO because it seems more vapor than DF... and that's saying something.

And the idea of having oblivion combat and bringing back old game mechanics that would make a game 10x more deeper, does justify calling an mmo next generation. Its one generation above the current generation (even though the current generation is like a step back from the last generation... so that would make this game 3rd generation if succesful?)

I don't think so. While Having qualities of both UO and elderscrolls is wonderful (hell ill be there playing DF with you). I don't consider a rehash next gen. What is DF bringing to the table that hasent been done before?

You realize this game HAS been out 4 years.  I killed half the bosses in TBC before getting a case of Super Meh and bagging it.

I find it funny that that guy was actually a lot more hardcore than you are in WoW now bodypass, hell your running around in welfare epics atleast that guy killed real bosses before the game became total easy mode.

His point is even more valid than yours since you actually consider WoW a pvp game.

You might have to into todays MMOs thats a radical mechanic.

I know I would enjoy such a feature but todays MMO players wouldnt be into it and today MMOs need to have mass appeal or they quickly fall into niche.

I was hyped for Fallout 3 but man I thought that game was just bad because the world was boring, theres no vehicles so you have to spend hours running around everywhere, animations were poor and combat sucked.

I thought the combat was fun. If you didn't like the vats sytem you could play it like a FPS not the best fps controls but it did the job. I dont know about the world being boring im still running side missions and exploring the game world. the skill system seals the deal for me.

Games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion usually get mixxed reviews not everyone can stand the amount of freedom these games give you. My brothers like that also, he can't stand this sandbox type rpgs either he wants more of a story like Final fantasy.

I also enjoyed fable II and GTA4 this year. sadly this years MMOs were lacking and I only found Eve's expansions and the opening of ryzom servers as the only mmos to get excited over.

I actually think Eve has made me a freaking psycho. Imagine playing a game and at any time you could lose years of progress and hundreds of hours of farming currency.  Maybe I should take sometime off of eve.

Since when is leveling an annoying feature that players just want to get over with quickly? MMOs are suppose to be about the journey to level cap.

yeah I play more than one mmo.

I normally play Eve as my Sci-fi mmo then ill mess with a fantasy mmo for a change of pace.

Like Ryzom, UO or maybe even Guild wars.

I wouldn't play two fantasy or two sci-fi. I play one of each since they feel totally different.

I normally play MMOs about 15-20 hours a week its easy to play multiple MMOs when they dont have a gear grind endgame that requires you to play the game like a second job.

If i was playing WoW, Lotro or Eq2 I would only play 1 game since they require running raid schedules to actually get the good loot.

SP games look a thousand times better then mmos, they also have multiplayer features yet due not having  loading screens MMOs should require double the hardware over a SP game?

Im sorry but SP games that look like WAR have a 64 mb graphix card requirment while WAR cant be played on anything less than a 512 mb card and dual core system (if u want to play stutter free).

When Fallout 3 can play well on a single core 2.4 gig cpu, 6800gt and 1 gig of ram and WAR cant theres something wrong.

It has nothing to do with no time to play, It has everything to do with following a schedule to get the best gear.

I never said I didnt have time to play, playing 40 hours a week was the norm for me back in the day.

It was following a raid schedule that got to me. The feeling of playing when other people wanted me to and scheduling my life around a raid schedule.

I found myself trapped and since I play games that let me play how and when I want I prefer them.

Needing to log into the game 3-5 times a week for raids, then 2-3 times a week for arena then a nightly heroic run with guildies. then scheduling runs with lowbies to help them.

It just gets to me.

Other games are like this also, in EQ and EQ 2 you had to follow schedules and Lotro also to some extent.

Wow is great because it gives everyone the chance to play it like he wants. No elitist gear anymore these days.

You don't have to raid, if you can have the best PvP gear in game by playing 10 hours a week in arena and BG's and you can beat up the latest raiding guys in PvP. Who needs to raid then ? Owing the guy with the legenday weapon is so much more fun. He has no life while I am a better player with equal gear.

My friend goes Wow fishing every weekend and even wins some fishing competition and walks around in greens and blues... and then wins....in Wow in the way he likes to play Wow.

Wow can be played in dozens of way. You only want to raid. Very few players only raid these days.

 

 

Thats mostly the pvp stuff though. for me my enjoyment was always the pve aspect of WoW.

It just feels more polished than pvp in the game.

I think its cool that pvp players could actually get the best gear for thier style of gameplay with no schedules. But its not for me I like the high tier pve stuff. I come from EQ so im a pve fanboi in mmos with a Endgame.
