Is Darkfall the game the Mourning guys are making now or am I thinking of somethign else?



Tbh though I don't understand why these games build up sooo much hype because its so obvious it;s going to suck, thats if it ever comes out.

Unless they rebuild the whole game on a new engine to make it look less lame then no.

WOW hasn't destroid the genre, all the other developers trying to copy it are. WOW though is a very good mmorpg and well polished and put everyother company to shame and showed them how it should be done and creating the most polished mmorpg out there.

I don't see how WOW dumbed anything down though because it just got rid of all the annoying crap from the previous mmorpgs and made it all soooo much better. WOW is the perfect fantasy class based mmorpg out there to lead that genre but other developers have to not copy WOW because people are fedup of all the clones.

I'm sure there are some REAL bad mmorpgs out there so i'll just do the ones I've played and not including fre mmorpgs;

- Vanguard 
- Everquest
- Dark and Light
- Dark age of Camelot
- Pirates of the burning sea
 

It's funny cause I could easily come up with a top 50 bad mmorpgs but I don't even have 1 mmorpg I think is good anymore.



 

The game doesn't need one because the art more than makes up for the dated engine.

I don't know.  If I had listened to the "Doom Monkeys" on the Age of Conan forum, I would have saved $50. 

When a new MMORPG is close to release, any news is valuable news.  If some of it is negative, then I want to listen all the more.  I suppose the same approach would work with anything; buying a car for example.  If you hear great things about a new car coming out, but a few posts pop up talking about the steering column coming undone while driving, then maybe that's worth noticing.  After all, the buyer takes all the risk.

I want to hear everything about Warhammer, good and bad, that I can get my hands on.

I've wrote a sum up of WAR for when the NDA goes down and theres good and bad in there, If you don't like current mmorpgs then WAR has nothing new to offer you but if you like Warhammer and PVP then defo worth a shot.

I'm simply not going to buy the game at launch because thats when all the bugs in the game really standard out when the mass gets in there and breaks everything so I'll wait a few months before picking it up myself, that is if the new WOW expansion hasn't wiped away my interest.

Depends what you want out of WAR.

If you want great PVE with crafting and raid content then WAR isn't for you.

If you want a game based around PVP then WAR might be for you.

EVE Online finally has some worthwhile competition in the space mmo genre.

Why does everyone hate Arena in WOW? I loved it.

Some developers have just failed to evolve with the platform, blizzard and Valve are doing really well on the platform and so are the creators of The Sims and soon to be Spore. You just can't port a console game and expect it to sell on the PC because most people will just download it or not bother. For example I'd have never of bought Devil May Cry 4 on the PC but I downloaded it, if I couldn't have downloaded it then I would never have bothered playing it anyways. I think most pirated games are like this because people just think "what the hell its free" and go ahead and download it. Developers need to get with the times on the PC because it's evolved past console style games and going into the browser based and digital age where people can have easy access.

 
Carmack can't esactly expect Rage to sell well too because it's such a graphical powerhouse of a game. The problem with the PC platform is theres no industry min requirement PC so like a DELL PC has to have atleast a 8800GT in it etc etc.

Hopefully the new PC force thing will set a standard with all the big premade companies that'll get more people into PC gaming.

The Warlock in WOW can play like a Necro with the talent tree setup for it and it's probably the most fun I had with a magic/pet class cause I found the necro class in EQ2 to be very bland.

The Dev's are doing their dream jobs so why feel sorry for them? I'd love to do what they're doing right now.
