Its group based.

If you don't have a group then you'll die soo easily, can't solo like in WOW because everyone seems to help eachother.

Then you are going to hate everything about WAR and you should leave these forums because we are all idiots and you are obviously superior. Please...we are not worthy...just leave us to out simple mindedness.

/sarcasm off

But in all seriousness...why do you even come to these forums then?

Who called anyone a idiot?

I was saying my opinion of why I didn't like it and fyi WAR is soooo much better UI and movement wise and rightly so seeing as it's new.

WAR didn't invent assault style maps and nore did DAOC.....

Everyone copies ideas off eachother otherwise we wouldn't any of the good games or products we do now. also it's pretty easy to see this as a natural progression from the old battlegrounds.

Though I do agree atm this battleground just looks bad.

Blizzard know their polish standards are soooo high they don't need a NDA to cover up the bad stuff before release and Blizzard also know you wouldn't be able to keep a NDA on WOW and the fact that millions will be buying it no matter how bad it was.

I'm defo going to buy this expansion though because that pet just looks so kool. Is it true you don't have to feed your pet for loyalty anymore? If so then i'm defo in!

I play shadow priest but man that t-rex looks so damn kool! lol.

I wish hunters could use their pets as mounts though :(

Currently none and I used to say I just want SWG pre cu back but after playing the emu alot about the game that used to bug me come fooding back to me and I just want quests and storyline to do with the old system because standing around all day does get boring. Also I don't like the restricted armour and weapon sets you have to use because it gets boring using the same stuff over and over again and I would like to have variety. I don't like the HUGE role buffs have in the game too because while I like the social aspect, all the buff bots are back even in the emu and I find it a flawed system. So I'd like it that buffs still enhance you but you're not FORCED to go and get them to be able to play.

So after that experience I'm not sure if i'll ever be happy and not sure what I want in a mmorpg anymore.

I think the best way to sum what I think I want though is SWG pre cu mixed in with the CU (no levels though) mixed in with question progression like WOW so you can level up without having to grind and have something fun to do.

To answer the question though........ I don't want any of the upcoming mmorpgs that I know about their gameplay. Maybe the new Bioware mmorpg though because Bioware seem to have mastered the RPG genre, though I hate their combat systems, they'd work in a mmorpg.

Move the folder into your program files directory (or whereever you install your games to) and then click on the setup.exe and run the patcher. You shouldn't have to extract anything...

The average wow player probably spends like 90% of their time sitting in AV. I speak from experience because its the best way to get honor, and the gear is on par with most raiding stuff. The truth of the matter is wow is boring as hell and after you have been in av like 10,000 times it really becomes mind numbing. Then oh guess what!? A new season comes out and there is a new set of armor to get... Rinse and repeat over and over and over...

As for the previewers i just want to say you suck, there is a lot of us that really want to play this game and work with it to make it better. You are just a waste of space.

No the average WOW player plays to have fun, the very few people who have no job in real life sit in AV all day. Just so happens you notice the very few more because they're annoying you more so it seems like more people are doing it than actually are., when I bet its a few thousand out of millions that are doing it.

Also if you don't like the game in the beta then you ain't going to waste your time playing it, so I have nothing against people who quit the beta because why would you waste part of your life when you ain't having fun... that's just stupid.

Also yes everything is being tested and Mythic are bery truthful about the state of the game not being what it should be, however it will still be another lackluster mmorpg at launch until they fix all the problems which as we know in mmorpgs that can take years.

Worse MMO's of All Time:

1. WoW: This game has completely ruined the industry as we know it. Seriously, people always ask why games are so crappy now... well it's because they see the insane (yet undeserved) success of Blizzard and try to copy them. Half of every new MMO nowadays is copied from this game, and half of the stuff in this game was copied from other crap! I mean, seriously now! The game's not even that fun, its a mindless grind to 70 and then you PvP and raid for some shiny toys. Horray? No, no horray.

2. Maplestory: Possibly the worst grind game ever, yet the most successful cash shop game on the market. I have no idea as to why people pay for this game. It takes effin YEARS to even get to level 40. No game should be like that.

3. Hellgate London: One of the two games that, in my opinion, could have been pure gold, but were released too early. HGL had a very unique concept, some great gameplay, graphics, and a fairly loyal fanbase. But, unfortunately, the game was rushed out. The bugs were overflowing with this game, and it completely destoyed it. Really, really sad.

4. Age of Conan: Another game that could have been pure, pure gold. This game has THE MOST interesting combat I have ever played in a MMORPG. It's engaging, fun, gorey, and awesome. Decapitations are epic, and the graphics in this game are breath-taking. But, yet again, the game was pushed out too early. PvP was insanely unbalanced, bugs were everywhere, and quests were nearly no where to be found after level 50. If this game could have been in development for just 3 more months, it would probably have another million subscribers right now.

5. Fury: A game that goes from P2P, B2P, then F2P in less than a month must be absolute crap.

Note: To all the people who say that Everquest is one of the worst games ever, please, get your 5 year old asses off the computer. ALL MMO veterans know that Everquest was possibly the best MMO ever made. It had so much content, so much stuff to do, and such a great community while it was alive. This was before all the WoWFags had to come and pollute just about every other game with their non-sensical crap.

For me I need the sense of immersion to want to explore a online world and because of the isometric 2d view it really kills that for me because you can't look around or remember the world around you like 3D worlds.

So because of that fact I find the world to be rather bland.

+ It wasn't one of the first, just one of the first that people remember.

Are you seriously saying that Ultima Online wasn't popular? That game STARTED to MMORPG genre! There was Meridan 56 before it, but it never caught on. Ultima was the first graphical MMORPG to EVER gather a fan base (which still remains to this day). And if you're saying that only 3D games are good, please go kill yourself. I could easily name 50 2D games that I would consider absolutely incredible. The most popular game in the world, Mario, started off as a 2D game, and they still make 2D games for the mario series! I find your lack of perspective truly breathtaking.

Go kill myself now? Are you serious????? :\

I never said 2D games were bad, I said I don't like 2D online worlds because you don't have that sense of immersion so I could care less about exploring it.

I just think you're a big elitist twat.

You call people who don't like EQ 5 years old and then you ho and act like that yourself.

WOW didn't ruin the industry it made it better by opening more people up to the mmorpg experience and making the big companies want to get a peice of the action and now we're seeing they're all developing a mmorpg.

Also WOWfags? Ok you don't like WOW but why insult people for liking the most polished and most popular mmorpg on the market? The game can't be that bad if sooo many people like it and are willing to pay monthly for it. I personally feel WOW took all the annoying stuff from other mmorpgs and fixed them, sure I wish it had more customization but you can't have everything.

In no particular order.

Vanguard and City of Heroes are the only two I've played that I thought were terrible.  After that you get into games that were flawed and I didn't stick wtih long like AC, AOC, EQ2, SB, UO etc.  I don't really like putting them in the worst category though, they just weren't great.

I've had a decent eye for quality before release so haven't tried most of the more miserable titles that came out.  Only tried Vanguard when it was free and CoH when it was cheap but didn't like either of them at all.

If UO was flawed, then why was it the first mainstream MMO?

1. World of  Warcraft

2. Age of Conan

3. Dark and Light

4. SWG at launch, after Jedi were unlocked, and after NGE (some periods of decent quality there)

5. Rohan

Cause it's Ultima and it wasn't that popular and was very buggy and unplayable at launch, yet people seem to forgret that.

And because it was one of the first graphically based MMOs? And almost all games back then (and even now) were buggy at launch. The world they made for that game is still one of the most in depth REAL MMO worlds to date.

Never because theres nothing wrong with peoples opinions.

Also, I believe there is collision detection in PVP so a tank really can be an obstacle between his squishy friends and their enemies.

That only stops melee and not ranged so it becomes completly pointless and in the crazyness of RVR noone every uses collision detection and it just becomes an annoying feature where you keep running into people.

I say try it because the PVP is very different in this game to others, what turns other people off from PVP this game seems to have a different style. I wouldn't get it for PVE though because it's not a PVE game and you might aswel play something based around PVE that'll be much better.

Same thing that happened with WoW.

Little kids want to play the hero, big kids want to play the guy who looks like an absolute bad ass

i mean, come on...you got this:

Versus this:

Which one screams bad ass?

Yeh but in game the High Elves look really good and the Chaos don't look as good as the concept. The Bright Wizard is a ginger so he doesn't look kool lol.

Obviously I can't talk about CB but your worries over population arn't needed because theres always a constant balance between the two sides with every race being used, so nothing is really more popular than the other, the empire and chaos might have a slight advantage in numbers but that could just be because the game isn't shipping with the other cities for RVR.

I dunno I even thought EQ was shit back when it was released, sooooo far behind single player games it's like what is the point in playing a shit game just because its a mmo?

LOL at the in game map and how swimming works in the game where you have to keep tapping space bar or you sink and how ladders out of the water don't actually work so you have to keep trying to get out for a year. The combat sucks too the animations are sooo bad and it's not even fun you just stand there and it auto attacks......... wow so fun!

Dunno how people put up with that shit back then.
