Roll on Global Agenda :P

None they will all get nerfed within 2months :P

Roll on Warhammer 40K MMO :P

AI Wars : Fleet command = love. It has elements of a tower defence game and yet you dont know where the AI is gunna strike next.

Harvest Massive Encounter = love. Is a typical tower defence game with random mob spawns and even a survival mode.

So can i suggest you change your thread title to NOT ALL TOWER DEFENSE GAMES SUCK!!!!

Only thing i wish they would have added is a Diablo'esc loot system (random +X attributes to items etc).

Creating a story isn't really all that hard to do, and lets not pretend as if Bioware sets a new standard for storytelling.

There have been many companies that were able to create games in Unique settings with good storylines that didn't involve a generic fantasy setting or a generic sci fi setting with laser swords and laser guns.

Lol i think your confusing "setting" with story, Creating A well thought out story with twists and turns and enough content to keep people attracted is a hard thing to do indeed.

Seems to me like you've neither taken the time to play or read up about MassEffect its a very good game with a very good story.

Anyway keep the flame baiting up i like it ROFL.

@everyone complaining about the release date being too soon please complain to the PUBLISHER NOT the developer! Publishers decide the release date not the developer so get over to the ATARI! forums and start blasting them!

I love the first Jumpgate which has the best space flight engine to date still. All JG needed was a publisher that was not completely bankrupted and it would have had a way bigger following than most mmos. It never even had any advertising and it is still running to this day.

Besides Lord of the Rings Online is one the top rated mmo's on mmorpg.com. So Code Masters have some successful games that they published.

JGE has way more support than JGC ever did and JGC was really quite good so JGE should be at least fun, but I suspect it will be the game that breaks the lame mmo streak we seem to have in the mmo market right now. I really want a good action mmo.

Tbh im not one of these nuts that has all the figures layed out for me so as far as im aware LOTR is doing well "currently" (in the EU) however all you have to do is look at DDO on CMO servers which are still on a P2P basis yet Turbine in the US is now updated to the new DDOU client which is F2P so from what i can tell when LOTR fails to make CMO the sort of money they want they will probably just ditch it.

I've never play LOTRO and if i ever did i would sign up on the Turbine US servers rather then for the CMO servers. They had 2 games that could have still made them alot of money but they failed both communities by letting them get outdated and upsetting the developer.

lf comedy mmo?

You're probably better off leaving comedy to movies/shows/music. MMORPG's are serious business.

I would have said any F2P mmo that has a good sense of Engrish.

But dude sometimes they see some code and they're all like mastering it.

Ha thats when there developing not publishing :P

Seriously if they dont get another publisher i enplore you *DO NOT* buy this game it'll be dead within 2-4years.

See Archlord and RFO (Rising force online). All the time Both these games were live (at there hands) the devs did little in terms of events, and they have the worst publisher-developer relations staff around with both games (in the EU) they failed to keep up with updates and failed to aquire new contracts with both developers.

This isnt a plea for a change i just want to warn people that didnt already know about CMO underhand tactics at screwing both games communities over.

I have a bit of a problem, it would seem that my eyes don't like the 60hz refresh rate put out by most LCDs  I have an old CRT but it's small compared to my LCDs.  It's not a huge issue, but noticable enough to be an annoyance.

Last LCD I bought was an Asus 1080p LCD.  I read up on the differences between standard and GTG responce measuring, and went with the 5ms LCD, which I thought was supposed to equate to well over 120hz.

Seems it actually won't go over 60hz and it bugs my eyes just like my last LCD did.

I need an simple widescreen LCD around 24" (1080p) that will do at least 75hz refresh..

Any ideas?  I can't exchange the Asus.

EDIT: Newegg had 75hz listed in the specs for my LCD, but apparently that was only for some noname resolution that I don't use.

ROFLMO, it's an LCD, not CRT! They don't work in the same manner, 60HZ LCD is fine for gaming, it's the reponse time you need to look at on an LCD you fool!  You need a 2ms reponse time LCD from a brand like Samsung. Go read up on how LCD tech works you tool!

@OP make sure your running it through an LCD monitor and not a LCD TV.

@ IAmMMO i guess you didnt read the rest of the posts stating the same thing you did... GOD BLESS IGNORANCE!

Like so many of you, I've been playing MMOs for a very very long time.. (Ultima, EQ 1, Lineage, DAoC, FFXI, ShadowBane, SWG etc etc etc)

I eagerly awaited Aion since 2006.  I played it a little in beta but not too much, I wanted to savor the "new game" experience at launch.  In my 20s now all I can say is that I am bored and I've had to talk myself into logging in and leveling.  So terribly bored.  And I really hate not having fun with Aion.  It was supposed to be my new gaming muse.  But beautiful graphics and nifty interface aside, I can't even bear to put up with the grind and the annoying rifts and the tedious crafting.

There is no soul to this game.   The quests are not worth reading, there is no immersive storyline or atmosphere.  The Aion community is now the new home for all that went wrong with WoW.  The WoW community bled over into the Aion community and now it appears that it will be this way from now on with all mmos.

anyway, yeah I can QQ more and see myself out of here.  But I'm glad I'm finally done with this ride.  The lather, rinse and repeat of the MMO has finally lost it's hold on me.

Im probably going to incourage a few flames here but try Champions Online (or City of Heroes/Villians) if you want something a little more fast paced. I was in the beta for both Aion and Champions Online but i had the stupidity to Pre-order Aion...... Aion's a good game dont get me wrong, it just wasn't what i was looking for.

i have to say my first impression was "this is like eve whit robots on planets"

So its nothing like EVE you just found a comparison between the two games.

Thats like saying Motorbikes are like Cars because they have wheels O.o

AION THE MARMITE OF MMO WORLD!

Failure? Hardly.

Head start is practically the launch. There were 400k~ people that preordered, and you can bet a majority of them tried to log in and get ingame.
If your weren't a narrow-minded dipshit you'd realize they had to do this to prevent servers crashes for hours, if not days.

Where are all the intelligent and logical thinking people? I rarely find them on the internet anymore.

They went extinct Aions ago......

C wut I did thar?

People just need to wait for the noob zones to clear up, which unfortunately may take a few more hours. But it's most certainly better than constant server crashes and disconnects.

So am i the only person that just pre-ordered for the XP earing? :D

well concidering the game ACTUALLY hasn't OFFICIALLY launched (we are only in headstart for pre-orders no retail box owners yet.(i mean the peps that dont want to download a 9gig client and have limited connection bandwidth) this might Cripple Aion's reputation and put alot of retail boxes off reducing overall profits made from retail boxes.

sleep

well what did you expect its sunday all the little kids are online...... -_-
