After operating the European service for over four years, our operating licence has now expired and it is with much sadness we announce our intention to transfer the European game service back to Turbine. The last full day of service will be 19th August, 2010. All European DDO game servers will be permanently inactive on the morning of Friday 20th August, UK time. The ability to purchase subscriptions will be disabled and all recurring payments will be turned off as of today. Likewise, the creation of new DDO game accounts/subscriptions is now disabled. This is the third such loss of a game since RF and Archlord . Could this mean problems down the line for Jumpgate:Evo? LOTR?

Well since jumpgate 2 is pretty much going to be one of those too little too late games this is looking pretty damn nice. Im looking for a game that give me the feel of Freelancers Online play and the true to life physics in space :D i love drifting sideways while aiming, fireing and having to adjust my flight angle with a quick burst of the thrusters.

whats with the idea anyway to charge a normal mmo subscription fee for a game that hardly qualifys as a MMO? its like CoD would ask you for a subscription fee to play 70% of the maps which is ludicrous.

if anyone sees the "wrongness" of above statement please enlighten me what the diffrence is, dont say "you can press Y and see a big map with all the smaller maps that ppl can put their flag on"

i actually hope AvA turns out that it makes me want to subscribe, ben so long since i was really engaged in a MMO and i was hoping GA would be it, might still turn out to be, /crossing fingers :)
 

Its not the extra maps its the bonuses that you get for territory control, Like credits etc in PvE jobs.

See Archlord and RFO (Rising force online). All the time Both these games were live (at there hands) the devs did little in terms of events, and they have the worst publisher-developer relations staff around with both games (in the EU) they failed to keep up with updates and failed to aquire new contracts with both developers.

This isnt a plea for a change i just want to warn people that didnt already know about CMO underhand tactics at screwing both games communities over.

You obviously browsed straight over my post as another negative thread about the game, Instead im giving a negative response to the publisher, Launches dont mean anything its how the publisher handles new updates, expansions, price competition, Events etc, All of which i might add CMO are completely rubbish at.

Might aswell have Tabula Rasa at number one since everyones going to have there own opinion and say its wrong anyway...

GO play Killing floor its a pretty good example of the kind of mechanics that could be used in an MMO today. Yes i know its a FPS but hell its a great example of how CO-OP wins out in the day against the zombie hordes.

(yeah ok not exactly zombies, but experiements is close enough :P)

Twilight isnt big enough to warrent a MMO where as the area of Vampire vs Lycans (werewolves) is.

Since i didnt buy CC i would have to put my money on Aion. Loved in beta, Retail is shite.
