The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/25/10 6:20:57 PM
I have the same issue. After five years of WOW... What to play ? I have tried D&D, EVE, LOTRO, AOC, WAR, STO, sigh am a trekie too but that could not hold me. ATM I am playing Starfleet Commander Extreme, A text based game... Sigh. Its a distraction. I am trolling forums as well looking for that next Game. However I am amaized at how much spare time I have now... LOL |

After fives years of playing, and yes had a great time, I did find that the game started to get to a point where there were reputation grinds that took LONGER to complete than it did to defeat end game bosses. Hmm level an ALT, experience more. Well 80's on Horde and Alliance, End game content with both. Ok another ALT. I must say I have enjoyed many toons on WOW, but something is missing because after five years my wife and I have cancelled WOW and shut down our Ventrilo server. I find myself looking for the next game. I can't put my finger on what happened. Is gear too easy to get ? Do you start to see players that do not know how to effectively play show off fantastic loot? However a killer blow to me was when Blizzard allowed people to have Horde AND Alliance toons on the same server. WOW is just not worth the $$ or time to me anymore... |

Star Trek Online: Open Beta Begins; NDA Drops Tomorrow!
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 1/11/10 9:15:46 PM
This is Great News - and Beta, well its an excellent way to test servers etc. If players lose charators or items well thats beta. I for one and looking forward to checking this game out :) People will find fault with this and that and I think thats great too- This will focus the developers etc onto immediate issues :) Some players will get miffed at issues, I encourage them to relax. Beta is always a strain on every new game, and players. To help the dev ppl, recreate the issues, gather facts, this will help all of us in the long run as it can only serve to make STO a dynamic evolving game. Not even sure what to play yet - Klingon, Federation, hmmm... Had beter get at it !!! See u all in STO !!!!!! :)

AOC vs WAR : Which would you choose?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/02/09 5:25:54 PM
I played both. I found that AoC was just lacking something that I could not put my finger on. After just a couple of months I gave AoC up. War, well thats a fun game, but the crafting system was so messed at release, then rehashed and rehashed. This drove me from War after only two months. Even though crafting is such a small part of the game, its a part I enjoy and if at release its all messed up, I have to wonder about other components of the game. I mean Geeze - did any1 actually test crafting... It does not look like it was tested on a new toon thats for sure. I too am interesteed to see what Aion offers.

Warhammer Versus the World of MMO's
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 10/29/08 9:29:59 AM
Welcome, I felt that I had to throw a few words in here. lol we all have opinions dont' we ? Release : Warhammer at release was very smooth and relatively free of bugs. When bugs were found, patches quickly followed. This patching process will continue for some time then settle down into a 'normal' patch process as we have come to expect from the MMO community. Starting : Having played three Destruction and two Order toons through the tier one areas I see a lot of replayability in these areas. Only one from each side is in tier two content at the moment. Am comparing a High Elf to a Shaman. They have the same spells (pretty much) but with a different Graphic set. It is nice to see a Shaman swinging his arms and to know what's coming. Crafting : The biggest issue was Talisman crafting. After much ado and three characters I was quite disapointed then... a patch, now Talisman crafting is achievable with one character. The 'WAR' crew are listening to the players and continue to make small changes. Content : I keep reading of people complaining of the 'lack' of game content then they promptly compare to WOW... This is not entirely fair... ALL MMO's at release have a set amount of content which they expand as time moves forward. WOW four years ago was a LOT different to the WOW of today and is almost not even the same game. This is something I expect of WAR. New Dungeons, new levels, new areas, but I do understand that these all have an appropriate cost attached, and will be added as the game is balanced, and rebalanced, and matures. Time will see WAR becoming an 'EPIC MMO'. Instances : I am reserving comments here till I play end game content, but welcome any thoughts of coarse. I give a great thumbs up to 'WAR'. Keep up the good work. Ozoverlord
