General Discussion « Forsaken World 2/08/11 10:02:53 AM
Here is a good write up on Forsaken World that I just found if anyone is interested http://www.massiveonlinegamer.com/previews/1061-my-trip-to-the-forsaken-world Sound like the game might be pretty good. |

Not sure what game you have been playing fosters but Rifts is far from "rushed" and "bad". Its a great mmorpg in my book and I have faith that it will only get better with Scott Hartsman at the helm. |

Plus if you are willing to grind for it you can also earn free Turbine points to buy content in their store.(its actually not real hard to earn points)
If you run out of money with a regular subscription game you are out of luck and can not play at all. With LOTRO and DDO you can continue to have a lot of fun even with no money. I love Turbine's system because I can pay as I go.
Anyone who think that they are going to find a totally free Triple A quality game, well you should just move and find another kind of game to play because you are not going to find it. |

Lotro News: Turbine to close down Lotro once Frodo tosses the ring in the fire. :)
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 11/21/10 2:25:55 PM
Being that Frodo never tosses the ring into the fire(Gollum falls into the fire with it) I guess that means the game will go on forever. Which is sweet because Lotro is a great game ;) |

Would you play a female character as a guy?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 11/12/10 5:51:15 AM
Originally posted by Anoebis.be Could not have said it better myself. Like I have said before over the years, those of us from a pen and paper rpg background would not even blink an eye at playing a character of the opposite sex. Even the father of rpgs Gary Gygax had characters of the opposite sex. Hell one of my rpg rulebooks had a small section in them for those new to rpgs stating that this was ok. So I really do not know why this topic even comes up. In a rpg you play what you want, its as simple as that. |

Do you think Bioware&EA are upset about all this negativity?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/03/10 6:11:58 AM
Originally posted by kishe Yeah but EA never had a great development team like Bioware working on a MMO since UO. I am not worried, Bioware has yet to let me down with anything. Quality games has been their claim to fame. |

Originally posted by TUX426 Exactly. You can not go off of what one disgruntled employee is saying. Of course he is going to say negative things. He is just trying to get back at EA Mythic. The best thing to do is for everyone not to listen to the hype and rantings and make up their own mind. I usually just either try to get in a beta test or look at several professional reviews from sites/magazines I trust. |

Originally posted by Fibsdk I agree 100% with this. Besides it seems that fan reaction of actual gameplay at the conventions was pretty positive. There is always going to be negative comments at forums like these. It seems like there is always a group of people that just want to root against a game or spread negativity. |

Originally posted by Channce Even with the number currently broken, when the Ywain cluster launched the highest that I ever saw that number was slightly over 3000. Sorry but thats not many people. What would that be maybe 30k subscribers if that? UO as of fairly recently still had around 100k subscribers from I have seen. And you can see proof of that just by looking at the effort that is put into the development of UO compared to DAoC. Don't get me wrong myleigh7 I was not trying to imply that Warhammer is necessarily better, but I can almost guarantee that it is doing better numbers wise. Sadly numbers are the only thing that studios and publishers look at. We can only hope maybe someday down the road Mythic will change their mind about not doing sequels and develop a DAoC 2. I know that I would play that in a heartbeat. |

Both are good games. But regardless of what anyone thinks here, I am fairly sure that Warhammer has alot more people playing then the 1334 people currently "defending the realms" of Camelot. |

Will you be playing Everquest 2 Extended?
The Tavern (General) « Everquest II 8/04/10 8:18:16 AM
I played EQ 2 and always enjoyed it. My wife also seemed interested but I could never afford two subscription at once. So now we can both play EQ 2. We will play this along with DDO and Lotro. |

I was not really interested in the game too much, but the trailer showing combat does look pretty good. Thanks for sharing the video bastionix. |

Originally posted by frodus Only the Muslims defend their beliefs by burning down churches, killing people, and destroying embassies Oh really so I guess you don't follow the news much? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/18/african-children-denounce_n_324943.html The Muslims must ask themselves what they can do for humankind, before they demand that humankind respect them There are 1.5 billion Muslims in the world. Most are doing good things for the world. You can not judge a religion because of some extremist. Christians have had their own bloody history of extremism. But the majority of Christians are great people, just like Muslims. Learn about real Islam before you make such statements. Have you heard about Queen Rania of Jordan? She is Muslim and has done countless good things for people trying to make a difference. I am just using her as an example because she is high profile and you can look her up easily to see all that she does. She is typical of how a real Muslim would behave. Here is another story of a Muslim helping someone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDd-RyDmvZo&feature=related Muslims are not supposed to cheat and lie to people, it is a part of their religion. They also have to donate to charity to help the needy. It is part of the five pillars of Islam(mandatory obligations) It is called Zakat, look it up. |

Breaking: Palladium Books sues Trion Worlds over "Rifts" title
General Discussion « Rift 5/13/10 3:19:22 PM
I personally feel that Trion was not intentionally trying to copy anything from Palladium. But on the other hand I can understand how Palladium might feel threatened. They should just work together. Trion pays Palladium to license the game officially and thus be able to use some of the cooler ideas of Rifts. This would help Palladium with extra revenue and it would help Trion by bringing in some of the Rifts fans. Win win situation. Why fight? |

General: Farmville Killed Gaming, V-Worlds, Dogs
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/19/10 9:12:07 AM
All the sudden Richard Garriot's Portalarium thing that he is doing with some other ex-Origin people does not seem like a bad idea at all. If he could make a social game with the accessibility of Farmville but have the fantasy trappings plus some of the cool features of UO, he could have a huge hit. |

General: GDC 2010: EA to Publish 38 Studios' "Project Mercury"
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/10/10 6:00:48 AM
Originally posted by kishe There is a big difference between publishing and developing a game. EA is just the publisher. Besides I seem to remember Dragon Age Origins being pretty awesome. And why are you talking about Todd McFarlane and lore? RA Salvatore is doing all the lore.(and he has a great sense of lore) McFarlane is responsible for the art and nothing else. |
