I admit that I have not done much MMO'ing since I left Star Wars Galaxies a few years ago (right after the hideous NGE).

Now my fingers are itching to get back into MMO, but there are so many to choose from, I don't know where to start. Some of the things I am looking for

1, An in-depth player-run economy (For whatever reason, I like to tinker away and sell crap at my shop)

2. A game that's not going to punish you for not joining one of the millions of clans/guild (That's what turned me off of a few MMOs, in the fact that many of the quest require the backing of a group/guild)

3. Something were I don't have to devote 18 hours a day.

I was at the mall with my best friend yesterday and I was about to purchase the game (because I loved Sid Meier's Pirates, and the whole player-run economy thing ), anyways he tried to talk me out of it, saying it was a horrible game, 'thrown together at the very last second' and 'Not even God himself would forgive anybody who bought it'

Now he did play BETA, but he only did so for an hour but told me that was all the time he needed to know it was a 'piece of programming sh!t' (his exact words) and even said World War II Online was a masterpiece compared to POTBS (or 'Burning Pee' as he has come to coin it)

Anywho, I just came here for a second opinion and to hear from others if it is really that bad of a game.
