I don't think it's a wise move to include representations of reproductive organs (i.e. penis and vagina) as this infringes the sense of modesty common to all civilised societies and takes the game into the realms of pornographic material.

Potentially sexual but non-reproductive body parts (breasts, backsides, legs, etc) I have no issue with. I'm not going to condemn a game because someone going through puberty gets all silly about part of it - we all had to start somewhere, lest the more pretentious 'mature' people forget. Nor am I going to deny my instincts and say there isn't anything alluring about the female form just to satisfy the PC crowd and a bunch of insecure men/women.

The game features breasts, so do 50% of the population... move on.

Agreed, on the other hand, the important moment in a young man/boy's of seeing a vagoo for the first time, with the feeling of utter joy 'WOOOOO!' would be lost into history :s

After all the complaints I saw with AoC with men oogling over the breasts in that game, and the complaints by women that there should be some penises in that game. I think its refreshing to see a developer with the balls (so to speak) to actually make a game with both genitals in it. So what next for MO, nude emotes?

well since it's developed on the Unreal Engine... why not Unreal Tournaments good old  'pelvic thrust' emote?

The bad:

---

You can definitely make a character that will just plain suck in pvp or soloing if you dont pay some attention when choosing powers stats and gear, but then again that is your own fault.

I would actually categorize this under "The Good".  Heaven forbid there be some repercussions for poor choices.

Actually it is a bad thing. You shouldn't have repercussions when you're starting out and don't know what to expect as you progress. We're not psychic after all. We wont know if we are making poor choices untill later down the road when it's too late.. or costly to fix.

I disagree, painful or costly mistakes should imo be a part of every mmorpg, It is annoying for a beginning player but it's how I believe one should learn the game. What doesn't kill you only makes you strong...

I've played enough mmo's where my choice of skills had little impact, I could be less effective due bad choices but never do they handicap you. The beauty of CO is the many ways you go, unlike most of the popular mmorpg's now where every player of class X and level Y uses the same A, B, and C skills over and over. Those developers were forced to add another layer of 'specs' just to diversify the effectiveness of A or B or C.

I loved the whatever skills you want system in Single Player RPG's and it's one of the main features that pulls me to trying CO.

Vaporware huh? thats been claimed about all mmo's...  besides how stupid will you look when it turns out to be real, and a great game?

If this game is 75% of what they promise, it may lack boats for instance, for me it will still be a good game, or atleast a step in the right direction.

lol mr. 2 posts.

Darkfall is a lie; a scam. This Q&A brings nothing new to the table.

Please remove darkfall from mmorpg.com

Ah yes that must be true, and mmorpg should do what you say.

After all, you have over 300 posts and that makes you specialist about mmorpg's and the gaming industry in general.

The marketing at adventurine may be a bit weak, but on the other hand games have been hyped over and over to ultimatly when its released, to be real dissapointments.

Darkfall could be a scam, tho I fail to see the point in doing that. And I'm sure as hell not going to take your word for it as you know as little as me about this game.

I don't know if this has been asked before, I did some searching and didn't find anything like it. Anyway if such a thread does exist, just link it.

Been playing AoC for a week now, before that LotRo, tried Vanguard, EQ2 & WoW.

The games I do like most are those who work around an exisiting Lore outside the games. The works of JRR Tolkien in LotrO gave me a good feeling of belonging in the mmorpg, familiarity and a connection to the world. I haven't read the Conan books yet, but still I feel in that game that I as a character am in a breathing world.

Unlike in WoW, EQ2 & Vanguard the world seemed to be built around the game, and not vice versa.

Prefering LotRo & AoC as mmorpg's I started wondering what "Lore" could yet be used for a mmorpg to be built around. We had Star Wars in the past and now Star Gate Worlds coming up. But what else, wich other fantasy of sci-fi novels, films or others would you like to see in the form of a mmorpg?

Some I could think of are:
- Dune
- The Sword Of Truth
- Shannara

And you?
