Interesting there was another game called strife a number of years back....a 3d RPG type game.

This one is really sad in comparison and its sad it is using the same name.

so can it turn invisible?

Or have stealth longer then a second or two?

or is this just going to be a another fighter?

so in a nutshell you are saying in this article that we are forced to use another launcher program like steam and origin and u-soft.

And you are saying this will make games drm free....which I hate to point out is a lie if you have to use the launcher the program.

And then you proceed to say some differing points about the game.

About that launcher....I hate to point this out....but the game industry is filled with idiots....the people for example who are making and pushing those launchers are simply making a drm that is even easier to hack and rob the company.

And worse....once they deactivate the launcher...all those games wont be accessible....its the problem that they could easily fix but do not...I know how they could fix it....but its not my place to tell them.

I don't think WIldstar means much to many people in RIFT.

Its another game....it has a tunnel area system like never winter(as in invisible walls all over and not letting you go in straight lines to having a dumbed down interface which means they are trying to get it made for a console) but also it has a combat system that is a lot more like The Secret World with the way you can see where you attack will hit or enemies will hit even uses the same faulty dodge system(as in there are many attacks that you get hit anywise no matter if you dodge or not) and uses the same nightmare enemy type encounters(ie the enemies you find in some area that even though they might be 20 levels below you they still have more health and do more damage then you can ever do)

I think this more or less sounds like an article made by someone who plays RIFT and believes they want to give wildstar a try.

By all means give wildstar a try and play it....you will probably be back to rift very soonish...as you will notice the hype and information about the wildstar are not very accurate.  I guess its the fact everyone has exactly the same quests no matter if they quest names are different due to the class or race you play....so no matter what you or someone else will be destroying enemies in some area to go to some click place to change the map to allow you to go up to some area.

I personally was disappointed with wildstar....I felt it was on par with the way elder scrolls online is and a lot more like never winter with how its maps worked.

I mean it has potential, but mostly you are forced to run from point A to B all the time...no vehicles or mounts...no flying but in some places they have giant jump things.

I also feel wildstar forces you....or rather railroads you into doing missions....as you have no choice but to do them to pass to the next area at many times.

I don't have a high end machine at all....but I just want to say....if rift gives you graphic issues...wildstar is going to be worse for you.  I have no graphic issues at all...so for me when I read how someone says they have a high end machine and issues....I know right off they have a low end machine and cant play many games at all.

Is Rift Dying ?

I hope so. There's too many wow clones already.

btw Rift is better then wow

I have played rift and wow and im not a big fan of either game, but rift is just a cheaper version of wow in every sense. I wish rift was actually about rifts and not raids like it was initially supposed to be.

I play rift a lot and I just cant see the similarities with WOW.

Sorry but in wow you cant talk to your enemies...alliance and horde are forever locked form each other.

You can talk to each other in RIFT and even join and play together.

Wow has a new expansion that lets you now automatically be bale to level any character you want to maximum level and get free gear with it....no play required.  In fact they are going to offer this as something you can buy from wow's cash shop....that is the ultimate PAY to Win example....might as well just go play Progress quest with stuff like that.  I understand Sony is thinking about having this same sort of thing for Everquest as well.

Cant do that with rift.

In addition wow requires a subscription...you can try it for free up to level 20 but have everything nerfed on you....and then you have to pay to play after that.  Sooo....that's pay to win...sorry to say.

But Rift you can play for free up to any levels and get free items every day.  Their cash shop doesn't have all items from the game listed but you can favorite items you find form vendors to have them available later.  And be able to buy things for planarite and things the cash shop only sells for real cash.

So anywise aside form both being fantasy games...with wow being a total rip off copy of warhammer fantasy from games work shop(they even mimic the same accents on the orks how sad is that?)...I am just not seeing a clone of wow.

Maybe if Rift added some kung fu pandas or an ork who yells at you in tons of cuscnes about how great he is....and then proceed to make the game a grind fest of killing wolves to get fangs and also add invisible walls all over...cant forget those, then it might be close to a wow clone.

Also rift hasn't been around 2 years yet...so seeing the oldest posts form players talking like they played a long while back when they only actually played a month before they posted is kind of humorous.

Well I liked the game and felt it had a lot of potential...but they sort of dropped the ball.

But as is being shown right now, the people speak with their feet.....a lesson that was shown with games like star wars galaxies.....so guess ESO has to learn it the hard way.

Personally there where way too many mechanic and design issues for me...my character felt way too lame.  Heck I couldn't even stay invisible for longer then 2 seconds....and even if I could...all I would get was a 5% increase in my critical chance to hit.

I think that's the same footage they first showed when they where planning the game......and the same footage they used in the second trailer when they where showing they where working on it.

What I want know.

So aside from showing the same footage from before....how exactly is this a sneak peak?

lol I liked how the article mentions PVP as being an ever changing experience.

Um no...pvp never changes....if it did, you wouldn't see people start quitting games due to that, nor would you see tons of players always trying to get other players to do pvp or duels in games all because there isn't enough other players to pvp.

Yeah this adventure zone is beginning to sound more and more lame....its begging for the typical elitist group play.....which means a lot of people wont be able to ever play it.

I also liked how in the article the game is described as doing new things to make it different.

No its called they are going super old school, back when there wasn't a map or wasn't many skills or had a level system that was super broken and so the players would joke it must be group content...if I didn't know any better it looks like they are trying to make this game a mobile phone game...its dumbed down enough for that....and infact now that I think about it....everything not there...would not work very well on a mobile phone....as a mobile phone processor and graphic ability just isn't there plus its a small screen....hmm...interesting.

Actually this game is mildly challenging until you get to a certain point....then they deliberately make enemies very difficult.  And the reason is simple...they want you to use all your potions and damage your weapons.  Eventually the game becomes no more about exploring or adventure but about getting enough to repair your stuff.

In fact this is soo bad...tons of people have resorted to using teleport bots to get commodities, which is super sad.

This game is very stone age in combat and how you only have 5 skills and an ultimate and no...you cant switch weapons in combat.

PVP has so much cheating.....its very bad right now.

So challenge....not really....forced difficulty with a level imbalance...yep...they do this...very poor programming.

You know its a flop when you get up to 10+ levels higher then something and find you cant beat it very well...in fact you find its killing you fairly easily.  And then you realize if they threw the level system out the door....they think little of anything else either.

Live GMs will take care of them in minutes, its subscription based game after all.

Zenimax ,it is time to  show your playerbase why they are paying for services.

if only they had live GMs

They don't at all...have not had them ever.

Only thing you can do is send in a report, which they may or may not do anything about.

If you want fast service or want them to do something and not ignore you...you have to make a forum post on their forum...and post screen shots along with lots of jokes and ridicule about their game.

And bingo...a developer will tell you to send them a message to fix the issue.

Yeah I understand how the OP feels...

From poor customer support to bad coding....to only have 5 active skills slots....unable to change those slots or weapons in combat to weapon and item durability...to just plain being limited in what you can carry.

I did report one player for a very bad name....so I have no trouble telling players apart from enemies.

The entire game though....is like a flash back from the 80s

Aside form an actual fairly good 3d map.....its basically kind of pathetic.

You go to any dungeon or anywhere and other players will be there as well.....quite a few kill the targets you are supposed to kill over and over....some just run around farming only.

They even charge your account immediately when you choose to subscribe....no the information zenimax tells you is wrong.....whom will you listen to....zenimax or the bank...the bank whom will tell you they sent a digital request for funds and it will be paid unless they cancel it....thus the funds are not available to you.

That alone is enough o cause some real problem with some players...who maybe don't have tons of cash to spend, I myself am resorting to skipping meals until I get paid again.....since they put me over budget.

Oh and they don't give you 30 days....their timer is fast so after 3 days it says 4 days have past for me.

I found the durability silly as usual...and notice it got worse as I leveled....higher level weapon not only cost more to repair but get more durability loss because they do more damage...and your skills even make it worse....you also cant see the durability left....you have to guess what its at based on the value of the item.

Eventually the game becomes the typical you are not playing to adventure or have fun....you are playing to get money to repair your equipment so you can do one mission.

They also have a limited control scheme...but easily able to be mapped to a controller with a program....I thought they dumbed it down for consoles...but I think they simply dumbed it down to mimic a pre-1980 video game.

Over all...its an ok game....but I think final fantasy xi and xiv, rift, worlds of warcraft, just about any other game...is better.

They need to do some serious overhaul on this wreck of a game.

I rate this game...a Snooze Fest....and I would not be surprised if a mass exodus of players happens in the next few months.

wow they need to turn their fog off...that one screen shot is like super fog....doesn't look that for me.

So far since they started the 3 day head start the servers have been down more then up.

I am thinking they may want to rename this title to " The Elder Scrolls Offline" or maybe " The Elder Scrolls Servers Down for Maintenance"

Its weird how they didn't have these issues before the 3 day head start....and of course 3 day head start also brought the gold sellers and spammers.....interesting.

I think they need to crack down on the exploiters and spammers a bit....not like these people fool anyone....they installed a client on their machine so its not like they can hide their identity....server logs will show where they are coming from due to the client program....and show what their machine ID is...which you cannot change unless you use a differing motherboard and processor.

People are going to hate what I have to say about this so-called game.

This is another you go around a world filled with other players...with nothing to actually do....you can collect food in fact this is what you have to do.....since you have the typical food meter that runs out in 30 minutes or less and then you lose health.

There is no incentive to work with other players or do much of anything....you can build things...and for what...to say I built this fort or I built this set of trees....to as usual have someone end up killing you for no reason.

I find this not a game but more or less a pathetic attempt at a simulation.

I truly wish they would remove these titles as games as there is no reward for killing other players or doing anything....oh gee...my reward is I found food to allow me more time to look for more.

Like I said people wont like that I wrote all this.

I was interested until he said....your character would be required to eat sleep and get exercise.  In which case I assume a hunger meter and water meter which will go down all the time and eventually you will lose hit points.

So that means the game will be mostly a grinding game to find food and water with no real exploration or story to follow or missions....in other words I think watching paint dry or water boil will be more fun as I will actually be accomplishing something.

Sorry the concept of useless micro management makes me not want to play....the world being mapped to scale sounds neat.....but the micromanagement interfering with exploration or fighting or actually playing and having fun....just doesn't sit well with me.

Yet why do their earnings show they make a lot less?

they don't seam to ever make even 1 million dollars.

strange.....its almost like they actually don't have that many players.

lol

that was a great scene from that show.

though not sure why hiro wanted him to fly, when hiro could have just teleported everyone.

You obv. didn't read the article... go back and reread.

I did read the entire thing....they still don't make 1 billion dollars every month....they don't even come close.

Which seams to me that the numbers they are showing are wrong and are greatly inflated.

According to the article alone they have 316 million US players, so we know they pay 19.99 a month....that would be an easy 600 million right there, yet even their quarterly earnings and costs don't reflect this.

Its interesting.....they are trying to say they have lots of players....but the numbers just don't add up.

But I guess if they did add up....the IRS would be wanting to know why they are not getting all their taxes they are owed.

I mean if they can talk about this stuff....then they need to at least do a complete job...like for example this particular class doesn't have just ranged attacks....it gets melee ones as well....that do not synergize with using range.

And range-wise....since everything can shoot at you in this game back....it gives no real advantage....so in a way this character class is very sub-par...as it has low health and low armor....with ranged attacks that just don't do much....and way to many things that can get in melee range or shoot at range that do a lot more damage.

Its not a rogue class....but more like a ranged class stuck with some sub-par abilities and really bad damage.

Wow they added paths.....I am.....Un-impressed.

Its still so colorless and lackluster for game play....the replay-ability is there...but its just so bland...and has way too many gates in this game.

But I guess that's how it is for theme park type games like this.

I had hoped it would have some form of adventure or exploration or something....but instead its like small race track areas(ie they have invisible walls everywhere so you basically just go around a big loop) that you adventure on....with nothing new or neat to find...

And I am sorry I still hate how a class feature for the cleric is a penalty on their own healing, and how a potion still heals better then a cleric will ever be able to.

This game is a bad version of dungeons and dragons....and makes all other MMORPGs look a million times better.

so the online arena battle game is being talked about again.

You know in no way shape or form is this an RPG

why its being talked about on MMORPG is very odd.

I am sure PVP only games are great to some people...but when you have only 12 maps and all you do is kill each other, I fail to see what the point to this is.
