I don't know one single person who likes Guild Wars 2 in real life.
Beta Weekend Event Reviews & Impressions « Guild Wars 2 5/15/12 9:08:59 PM
There's something called a difference of opinion. That's why you don't make purchases based off of what someone else believes. I think it's a great game, but not everyone will. I don't know where you're coming from when you titled this thread, but there are a ton of people who enjoy it and I'm sorry you don't feel the same. Next time just be more aware, and don't follow what others say =) |

Anyone else avoiding this game for the first 3-6 months due to the unrealistic hype?

Originally posted by pags411 The main argument.... hell, only real argument that I see is that selling gems for gold equates to a monetary advantage. The counter-argument to this is that gold is only one form of currency, and by itself is really not so incredibly valuable. Pay2Win in my eyes means that you buy things through the cash shop that are unavailable to you otherwise or would take a very substantial amount of time in-game to acquire. The game is not pay2win, don't listen to the idiots. |

If anyone here is unrealistic, it's you. No one is running around here saying anything of the sort. I shouldn't say no one, I should say the vast majority of players are not as you describe. I can hardly believe I've wasted 3 minutes even addressing your post. |

I didn't do anything special. Have ad-blocker, Ghostery, and a hundred others up and running on Firefox. I tried Chrome, but for some reason it wouldn't let me set my birthdate. Stop worrying about what you're doing wrong, because it's an issue on their end. Keep trying and eventually it should work, or just wait it out. It was trying to force my way in for about an hour to no avail, but eventually it worked out. Good luck and good night all. Can't wait until the first test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo!!!!!!! |

Finally worked. I swear I tried registering a new account at least 50 times before it went through, but when it happened it happened smoothly. Walked right on in =) |

*Edit* Well, at least we got our keys. I think I'll just wait and make an account later, when things have cooled down a bit. |

Literally just got my order through. Just sat there at the check-out screen and eventually the "try again" option went away by itself and it gave me the price. I immediately hit complete purchase and all went well. |

I heard that when you play Guild Wars 2, you spend real time doing so. Can you believe that ArenaNet is making us spend our TIME to play their game?

HAHA! Serves you right! I told you fools this fail game was fail. It's going to flop before the first month! |

I'd like to spend months climbing the ranks and enjoy the time spent doing so, rather than powering through the content to sit and wait on end-game. I don't know why we're stuck with this mentality. The mentality that the game doesn't begin until the end. WoW raiding? All I can think of. I've always thought that MMORPGs should be captivating from lvl 1 on onwards.
The title of this thread reminds me of this
Truer words were never spoken. Whoops, that's not the right one. Ah, here we go. I looked forever to find a video of this scene, but couldn't. This will do.

"Time-saving Convenience items" and "Time Skippers". The new PAY TO WIN.

We really need to start applying new terms to things. |

Heard you guys have keys in here. While I understand where the poster above me is coming from, my expectations are tempered. I'd really just like to get a look at the gameplay. |

So what are the benefits of a Pay to Win game like Guild Wars 2?

What exactly have they done to improve the series in ME3? I'm seeing no real additions, but I'm seeing a hell of a lot of subtractions. I don't think it's negative... I would say that while ME2 wasn't nearly as bad as ME3, it still wasn't as good as ME1. If we're going to have a discussion about it, I think you'll see just how obvious it is. Anyway, ball's in your court. I'm not trying to be standoff-ish or anything, but I really do want to know what they've done that's added to the series. |

Where are the open worlds to explore? Where are the cities? The Citadel was pure garbage. Literally everything was made smaller. The main storyline quests were all essentially side-quests. Also, I dislike the way that you have to scan everything, and the fact that gear is found in either bundles or conveniently placed pieces scattered across zones. On top of that, whether or not you played the other two and carried over save files seemed to make no real difference at all.
I don't understand how anyone says this is as good as the first, or even the second. The game itself was not bad, but when looking back at the other two you can clearly see that it's overshadowed.
*edit* Also, I've played it for a good few hours. I haven't beat it yet, but I'm really not that far from it, so don't try to invalidate what I've said just because of play time. Also, there's a difference between sheer negativity and criticism. It's pretty obvious that Bioware kind of phoned in ME3 when compared to the others. I should also note that I played the other two through to completion, including sidequests and all of that good stuff. |

lol, is there a "Well, metacritic says..." meme? If not, someone needs to get on that. |
