If they made an Asheron's Call 1 remake with updated graphics, it would blow every other MMO out of the water. The gameplay and level of excitement in Asheron's Call was better than any to follow. There were definitley times when you could actually feel fear, just because you knew you did not want to have to retrieve your corpse and your gear in some god-awful place that just kicked your arse.

The spell system was 2nd to none. Until split pea came out you actually had to research your spells and learn them. Random components made that challenging.

The main thing I would like to see more of are the dual group quests that required both low level and high level groups of up to 100 players like the Virindi Amulet Quest, where one group has to hit switches for the other group to advance, that take true organization and execution skills.

You already have huge amounts of original content, you have to change nothing there to start, just keep the same formula for updates on content, gear etc, on a monthly basis just like the original, and you will be successful. And then don't do like so many overly ambitious "new-generation" mmorpg's, don't bite off more than you can chew., so upon release it actually runs.

Don't change anything, just update the graphics, give everyone some nice eye candy, then keep the same game and you have a hit in a big  way.

AC1 was the best game of this genre to date. You make a new one, and we will pay to play it . You have a following, now make it happen.

Agreed. Ac1 pre shadow wars (before they blew up Arwic) was best game I have played ever since I have had a Pc this includes balders gate and oth groundbreaking games since till now.I still hold hope for Spellborne and dont laugh',"Darkfall".I still enjoyed it after I went to Wintersebb,Played for 4  1/2 years.I only wish there was another game with todays graphics that was even close to what Ac was in the beginning

I would definitely play a redone Ac game.I played addictively for 4 !/2 years.I thing game mechanics Skill/exp purchase should remain in place just updated graphics. One thing I would change would be allegiance system exp points. You should not getting exp points for people underneath you this only encouraged Exp chains and the such an made the game loose a lot of good people who didnt want to deal with it.I admit though the last 2 years I joined a chain because that was the only way to get above 126 +.I leveled a lot but still it is a grinding game which is good,The people today wonder why they loose intrest in a game when they can max level in 2 weeks. They would appreciate their characters better if they had to work for it.Challenge is half of it of the fun.If they scould incorporate some skill base attcks for melee and archery the game would be perfect.the games today are no comparison to how Ac was pre shadow wars patch. Most people who dont rate Ac high are the ones that never played the game. Please make this game!

I would love to see a game that is maybe a combination of Oblivion/morrowind (I actually liked morrowind better Though) and Asherons call. The one  thing i9 didnt like about  oblivion is where you get location symbols on your compass of dungeons and caves it should be like morrowind and Ac where you actually have to find them.I liked the game mechanics with skill/exp point purchase in Ac but would enjoy combination of both as well as seamless world. Also I think what we need is a Darkfall that is real and not vaporware it has all the best gameplay items you could want but I am afraid it is too good to be true.sadly.Maybe The chronicles of spellborne will be a surprise

Would have to have excellant PK game mechanics of course!

Seamless world.Dungeon/cave instancing ok though.Sandbox style.Skill based.Either developed or in the works?Played Asherons call for 4 and a half years.Loved it and would be great to find another game like this again.

thanks for the link.

I was wondering if there is a quick link to release dates and info of the new MMORPG's without having to search each individual forum for every game? There is a lot of information on this site it seems kindahard to track as well as decide on which games to try.Dont get me wrong its a great site with lots of information but it seems congested?Would it be possible to make one if one doesn't exist allready. It would probably make searching a lot easier for people.

thank you

Seems like I have  read something like thi before?.Would be nice to have a game like NWN 1 but as a MMORPg.

Like I said, from what I have read on this forum there is alot of conflictingting information .Good and Bad.It is hard to know what to believe.

Well its fantasy, but i enjoyed Ac1 more than any other sandbox mmorpg I have ever tried

From the videos I have seen it looks like it should be what Aoc should have been.I read so much negative stuff about it being vaporware. Is there anyone who could investigate it to see if it is fake? How long has this game been in production?I remember hearing about it a couple years ago in passing.

Until exp chains were set.And yes I was in one So I may not be able to talk ,it took probably  2 years to reach just level   100  with regualr playing let alone 126,So I am not sure I agree with that statement that is a 1 to 2 year game ;plus it is still being played today after 9 years  although the community is almost gone. The heavy grinding games took a long time to level ,of course we had a lot of pride in our chracters because of this.which is a good thing i think

I played Ac1 for 4 1/2 years amd enjoyed it immensly.I would like to find a new game that has similar game mechanics, sandbox style with no or very little instancing also with seamless travel.Does a game still exist other than Ac 1 itself or is there one currently being developed?

Yeah it seems like there is a lot of hand holding in todays Mmorpgs.I have been out of it for awhile now  but just from what I have read.I miss the old days where it wasnt linear at all and you could do pretty much anything until the sentinels would show up ..Hehe.

Those days are gone. Not because those kind of games cant be made. There just isnt an audience big enough for them to pay for what it cost to make a quality mmo these days.

Its kind of sad, but the sandbox mmo is going the way of the puzzle/adventure games. There might pop up some from time to time but they will never be high profile big games.

Yes it is sad.Ac was never promoted much leading to its downfall as well as other sandbox mmorpgs. All the grinding  that was needed to level made you appeciate and be proud of your character and the time spent developing it.It also makes for a very stong and close knit community that the  gratification "now " players wont ever have.It makes the game more for mature players who dont want to grief others just play and have fun with the friends you meet online.

Ac 1....Only bad thing about was the graphics.Quests ,game mechanics and size of land area was excellant.

I was so looking forward to this game.I have been lurking for a few months now. From what I have read though it is very much instanced which I dont really like (reminds me too much of the old sega genesis RP games..lol.)I loved asherons call 1 and played it for about 4 1/2 years before I finally got burned out on it.The size of the land mass and free roaming was incredible although the graphics were 1999  vintage.Anyone who has played Ac1 truly knows what I mean it was a skill based game also. The quests were great and numerous. Is it as instanced as everyone is saying? I hope not?
