Would anyone else have any 21 day trials? I've been looking forward to giving the game a try and would really appreciate a trial before I buy it.
If anyone does, could you please PM me? Thanks! |

SGW: Current Information. (REAL version!)

Supremeaaron and Kadael (others have as well, but they have all faded away as no progress ever gets made on the game front) both come over here and all they basically say over and over is, "I know that the whole company is involved in scam after scam and has a truckload of lawsuits, but I don't care and will continue to support them as long as my game gets made." Drives me insane how anyone with any morals can support a company like that just so they can get a half-assed game version of the Stargate universe. I'm sorry but in my mind, the Stargate IP deserves much, much more than what they'll get from CME at this point. |

I've never understood all the nitpicks. I've been a Trek fan for as long as I can remember and I've always just enjoyed the series for what they are, entertainment. All the people that sit around trying to find the one wrong thing with e certain episode just ruin the whole experience of Star Trek for themselves and sometimes others. I love Trek, but I don't think I 've ever been that extreme that I'm debating how many windows are supposed to be on a certain class of vessel or the exact warp speed of a certain type of engine. |

I'm encountering the same issue. The game downloaded perfectly but when I go to launch the game, the splash screen comes up and immediately I get a "GameGaurd Error 114".
I had the same issue when I tried to play Spellborn and I'n not sure how to correct it. |

I'm not sure how anyone can think this game is in a good state seeing employees not being paid, pyramid schemes, outright lies about the state of the game(anyone who's seen beta footage knows it was more like alpha, if that), and all the other bs that CME has drug Stargate through. Oh and just FYI, that statement "I'm done here" could also be taken as the employee who had the website up, quit CME. See what I did there. |

Top CME Devs & Executives form new game company

I totally agree with you. Honestly, any of these companies would be better than what the Stargate license is getting right now. MGM isn't going to take the lack of product for too much longer I don't think. |

The problem is all of these bad choices, scams and all the other moronic things the company has done over the past years to get to the place they are at now.
Honestly, I saw the state of the game with the "beta" testing they did. One of my friends showed me the horrible alpha state the game was actually in. Personally all this horrible management, scamming the investors, and now this "new" game company, I hope MGM pulls the license and gives it to someone that deserves it. Cryptic Studios is one off the top of my head that know what they're doing and don't pull the bs CME has. |

PC Gamer UK: STO Pushed Back to July 2010

Not to mention the bug fixes, events and other things sprinkled in throughout the year. Add to that, the fact that in CoH/CoV you don't pay for the expansions like in WoW.
More on topic, with Cryptics new engine they look to be able to reduce development time significantly and seeing as how they've only really had the STO license for over a year, they look like they're moving along nicely. I'm also not sure how something can be "pushed back" when there has been no official release date stated by the company in the first place. Until the time that Cryptic officially announces a date, any dates stated by other sources are pure conjecture. |

Haha, wow they're actually using Frankie Muniz as the logo for MMOGULS?! I hadn't seen that before. I definitely agree that someone needs to help Frankie realize whats actually going on with this whole pyramid scheme and how Gary Whiting is basically stealing money from investors, for a product that may never get released.
For all of the investors in this little pyramid scam, I agree, no pity. They should have done some research first. I mean seriously, did people actually pay for this crap? Like I said originally, I feel sorry for the devs that put all that effort into the game just to have this happen, but now MGM needs to step in and take back the license before it is tarnished anymore.
Last but not least, for the peope that keep claiming, oh give them time they're still working on it! Well news flash, the first round of beta was over almost 5 months ago and they weren't anywhere near a finished product at that time. |

Sigh. I was so excited when I first heard about this game. Followed the game progress on their forums and dev interaction steadily decreased until finally it stopped completely. Now all of these controversies, the MMOGULS scam, the lawsuits. I feel bad for the dev team that got caught up in all of this. Honestly I wish that they would just have the license taken away from them. Give it to Cryptic Studios or some other game studio that will do the Stargate universe justice without all the bs and scamming customers going on. |

if SWG:JTL (Starwars Galaxies: Jump To Lightspeed) could do it, why cant STO?
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 3/05/09 12:20:50 PM
Aside from Hagon being correct about it being fluff, someone please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't "Jump to Lightspeed" an EXPANSION? As in, not in the game at Launch?
Personally I'm glad Cryptic is spending more time on the important parts of the game, and bringing ship interiors later. |

I'm sorry, have you actually ever seen an episode of Star Trek? Or even looked over the STO website and looked at the details we know already? For your information, you will be able to walk around the inside of ships and stations at launch. Granted they will only be mission based at launch (instances) but from the sounds of it Cryptic plans on adding the full effect of walking around ships (not instances) after launch. Oh and btw, since when can ships in Star Trek not be piloted by one person?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Fibsdk I have been pretty adamant about gameplay > graphics in many many posts and countless arguments. However you have singlehanded proven me wrong. The graphics is terrible. I could never play a Commodore VIC 20 graphic based game no matter how stellar the gameplay may be. i take it back..gameplay does NOT own graphics -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agreed. For the most part, gameplay should be the focus, and if its is good, graphics shouldn't be the end all DOOM if they aren't perfect. But this, this was just horrible. I wouldn't touch that game with a ten foot pole, no matter how "good" its gameplay is.

How many units does Gary Whiting expect to shift?

Gary Whiting, mmoguls and all this other bs surrounding SGW is just ridiculous and disheartening. I was so looking forward to this game originally but now I think they just need to pull the plug and give it to a company that deserves the name of Stargate. |

No Blakey, you're not the only one who looks at some of these responses and is amazed at the desperateness. I've been following Stargate Worlds for quite a long time now and ever since this stuff has started to surface I have been utterly dumbfounded at the attitude of some of these posters.
I've actually come to the same conclusions as you and suspect that some of these people are actually involved in this mmoguls scam and don't want to believe they've been taken for a ride. Honestly MGM needs to pull the plug before this thing damages the Stargate name. |

Those screenshots look awesome. Very happy to see a shot of a Klingon ship as well. Nice job Cryptic. Everyone already know that the ship models will be able to be customized, so anyone complaining that they don't like a certain design on a ship needs to realize that these aren't the ONLY way your ship is going to look. Jeeze. And as for complaining about the NX registry being the same as on the other Starfleet ship release, give me a break. They've already stated that you'll be able to choose things like that yourself. I realize the ability to read is a tough one for some people on gaming boards but its amusing how blatantly ignorant some people are when it comes to POSTED facts. |

Just to end this right here and now, here is a link to a post by the Community manager at stargateworlds.com
forums.stargateworlds.com/showthread.php The article at Ten Ton Hammer was completely unresearched and no one at CME was asked to comment before TTH went to press with it. TTH lives up to my low expectations yet again. |

Thanks a bunch for the pass giggal! The $2.99 to download the game is minor for a chance to try it out. |
