No.  There is no block system.  Base on your stats and equipments boost the game automatically block when it feels like it.  It's random.  I'm sure if you put your toon in defend mode it will have a better chance to block beside that there's no input from your end to make your toon block an attack.

Well i guess i'll comment a bit since i play it and been following the game since close beta.. there isn't much to say the game is a bit disappointing from management department.  The game was put in a hurry for release.  There is no balance for each class.. favorite class is Brave (the tank).  No motivation for doing any quest beside the quest that you really need.  Monster drop crappy equipment that you don't even need for the monster lvl.. who need lvl 10 equip from lvl 15 monster?  etc.  The game STILL need SERIOUS english translation.. this one would get me off the game if I have to go through it enough time.  The graphic is decent for 2D game.  Battle system suck.. why would a game need timer for using potion and such for TURN BASE game? No spell healing/revive after battle.  All dead player automatically teleport back to there revival point and party disband if player is leader.  Shall I go on?  no, there's too much to list.. i made a few good points.  Last thing.. there is not enough people playing the game now compare when it first open to the WORLD. I also agree that GM suck.  Peace.. 

Well, they are trying to save the game.  The game is seriously lacking players.  Most Elf Online veteran already quit.  There isn't really anything worth waiting for in Elf Online as it's basically a grind game like most.  They added new pets and new events... big whoopi doo.  Next game please.

FYI - I did play the game for 1 month and I have been tracking the game since closed beta.  Last game update was March 27, 2008... no further comment on when the game is going to get an update.

Sadly to say the current events are being butchered from 2 hours to 1 hour 30 minutes and now only 30 minutes for each event excluding the double experience event.  Which isn't enough time to enjoy the event at all.  Hopefully the GM would reconsider defaulting the time to a minimum of 1 hour for all event.

I wonder what else they will cut down.  First they took away 2 days of events to replace 1 new event and now they cut the time of all events by 1 1/2 hrs.  Nice job.  The event is the only thing they have going for the game.  Oh well, it seems thing getting slow now.

I don't recommend Perfect World if you having lag issue since i get 2-3 seconds lag from 3mb DSL connection from USA.  That's enough lag to annoy you when you're in battle but it's playable.  Shaiya is good but a little laggy for me on 2nd server.  Rappelz is ok... I didn't play for long thou.  You can check out MMOSite for F2P game release if you haven't found some on this site already.

Ehh.. I'm not really into big PvP type battle like this where players camp just to kill the other side.  No fun in that.  I'm still new to the game and haven't really done Light vs Fury PvP yet.  We'll see until then.

It seem like the configuration file (CONFIG.INI) is incomplete (probably broke during programming).  I couldn't get my login name to save during login so I manually add that in the config.ini file.  I'm sure you can change thing inside if the file is complete.  But mine look like it was incomplete.  Check into it and if it's not in there then it could be in Windows registry.

Oh wow.. now I've seen it.  Security suck and having moderator blaming innocent player is the worst.  I'm not even sure the admin pick the right person for moderator.  I feel bad for the person wrongfully accused.  Coincidence that thing happenned the way it is or perhap jealousy between players.  Either that or someone really hate Elf Online.  I think the game is ok but could use more update fixes.

I agree with you.  The problem is that Elf Online is unbalance.  What they need to do is remove the stats bonus come with armor pieces.  How can Assassin beat Wrestler?  Assassin can't beat Wrestler due to the armor bonus.  Assassin main defense is dodge but if armor give accuracy then what good is Assassin's dodge?  Without armor my lvl 49 hunter beat lvl 52 wrestler but with armor I can only take 2/3 HP before I got wipeout.  I'm sure my Assassin will produce same result going against a Wrestler or Brave.. etc. since their build is almost the same.

I'm not sure if I will be returning to FFXI since the last time I had hard time finding a party to play with and because of lvl restriction for party experience it's harder to play with your friend who higher lvl than you.  Because I'm more of a solo player there's not much room for me to play here.  But maybe in near future I will pick up again and hopefully they update some feature to be more players friendly.  It's a game after all and we wouldn't want it to take over our life.

I wish I had try it when my sister had it.  I was looking forward to playing it too but I don't have the money for monthly fee.  And I know $10 a month isn't much consider the cost of living on the rise I rather sit this one out and play other game.

OK starting from Prophecie, monks and rangers were overplayed (farming build), Faction - Assassin and Nightfall goes to Dervish.  I have seen variety deoend on what part of the campaign I'm in but I see more Elementalist getting into the play.  Then again that's just my observation.

It's worth the come back if you only play the main campaign.  Lot of new things are added and the control that you were accustom to got changed also.  Lydon sum it up well but I want to add that after Nightfall campaign you get to have Heroes which are like henchmen but you can customized them with skills and weapon (armor piece adjust according to their lvl).  Heroes come very handy and are way better than henchmen and of course you can only have 3 heroes at one time.  Check them out..
