It's 1st and 3rd. Melee is tight third person to give you a wider angle, but you still can't see behind you since player skill in stealth is a big part of the game. Magic and ranged combat is in first person since this is an FPS game. Currently, the view is NOT toggleable.

Gets my vote as being better.

lol anime, nuff said. Very few in my guild would play that shit.

but anyways, why even bring this one up - it at least have to have full loot, no instances, free for all pvp, hundreds of people can fight with 60+fps, collision detection, friendly fire, etc? I doubt it does.

ps. just read up on it, its unreal 3 engine, this will have tons of instances, and probably max be able to have 10 people fighting eachother at once, without massive lag. all eye candy, no substance.

Just so you know, the developers have created their own engine that can support the server clusters and the style of the game. It is not the Unreal 3 engine. Also, beta sign-ups are in! Go go go!

P.S. The game an thhe video rocks.

There are no classes for this game. Think more of a skill based system a la Ultima Online. You can pick up any skill you want and if you use it, you get better at it. There are around 500 skills and 500 spells that you can learn. However, you will have to find the skills by find a trainer to learn it from. This way, if you don't like what you are and want to change professions, you can drop the skill or simply not use it and choose another one.

To prevent someone from mastering every type of skill, there are systems in place such as skill decay and a soft cap. A soft cap works by having a certain number of skill points you can have. When you reach that number of skillpoints, it will get harder and harder to gain more skills. Lastly, the skill decay works by making the skills you don't use slowly go down. However, we've heard that the rate it very slow and if you use a skill occassionally, it won't go down.

Prestige classes won't make it into launch. However, the devs said that they will include it after the game launches.

I think the only thing they have in common in that they both have huge worlds. However, Darkfall's world is packed with things to do and anything you see, you can be able to get there. Another thing is that Darkfall's world is completely hand crafted. I'm pretty sure the developers will release a product that will be at least close to what they promised.
