Initially I started playing Cabal Online because of the amazing videos I saw on youtube.  And I have to say, there isn't a single game I know of that beats the skill graphics on this game.  Music is also very, very good.  I didn't realize that the music in youtube video of the game was actually the ingame music until I started playing.  Monster designs are also applaudable, probably the best I've seen so far as well.

I normally play p2p games such as EQ, DAOC, WoW, Lineage 2, Shadowbane (used to be p2p), Guild Wars, etc.  But due to busy work schedules and personal life I began exploring f2p games.  Beginning with Silkroad Online, then Holic Online, now Cabal online. I thought, FINALLY a free game that I can enjoy. 

And yet, this game was yet another f2p dissappointment. 

Biggest downfall in this game is lack of contents.  First 70~80 levels or so is fairly addicting, especially the first 50.  This is mainly due to the anticipation of the upcoming new skills you'll get and their awesome graphics, as well as the combo system that makes each kill interesting.  Thus making up for the ridiculous grinding that is required.  Yes there ARE tons of quests, that are interesting until level 40 or so, and then you will start to find them extremely repetitive if you haven't already yet.  After that, you begin to feel that this game really needs a spark here and there to keep going.  You do get them, in the form of crafting, new zones that require keys to enter.  Unfortunately these new zones are not much different than your usual every day grinding spots, and crafting is so poorly designed and expensive that you're much better off saving your money.  At 100+ you do group more with people and there are guilds and guild wars.   None of these offer the contents needed to keep the players interested, at least I.  In the end, the game's nothing but sparkly lights and "cool" movements to dazzle kids into a shortlived fantasy.

I would rate this game somewhere in the high 6.X.

If you can afford $50 and a monthly fee, I strongly suggest you pay to play. 

If you have all the time in the world but no money, this game may be worth a try, but for people like me it felt like an awesome waste of time.
