So, it is incredible to me that there are still some people (a shrinking number of them) that defend this guy

Well, I like Bush on some things, am indifferent on some things, and hate him on some things.

Like Immigration, I hate his stance to death. I'll defend him on other things because sometimes people are just stupid and say OMG Bush!!! on just about everything.

But you won't hear me defend him on immigration.

Mind if I ask, but which issue do you stand by him for?

Taxes?  Shrinking of government?  Privacy?

What makes you think I stand by him? Not sure how you read any stand at all as it certainly was not the point to agree or disagree with ANYTHING in your post. It is wide open with no lead in to responses for any particular significance including making a point, one way or the other or any where in between.

But if I'm pressed to give a reason to stand by him it would be simply that he is the President. Less than 1% of all people will ever get close to attaining that position.

For contrast, I hate Bill Clinton but admire that he was elected President.

You answering for hazmats now?

I answer for myself....what's your point?

Oh yeah, as you stated, you don't have one.

You like to throw crap in the air, sit back and amuse yourself. Trite as it may be.

At least you can form sentences which is a bit more than Wookie can muster...

Enough of this dribble. Carry on with the mindless chatter.

Careful it may lead you somewhere you may not like..........................

"Check the title, Prodoo.  And my posting it didn't seem to stop the discussion from proceeding.

Sometimes I like to post the article without prompting a direction of discussion.  It's kind of cool to see where people head off with it first.

Besides that, who died and left you the mmorpg.com etiquette go to?  "

Duh! Smart Ass, I read the Title before I opened the post.

So yeah ,let people just run with it, great way to get random feedback for whatever, suit yourself but it still shows your... well nvm lol

Thanks for the compliment. At least you're bright enough to pick up on superiority when it smacks you in the face ;P

You wanna know what is stupid and going to put us at a large risk? Them having to pay $5,000. I don't have $5,000, my family and my wealthy uncle who is a business owner doesn't even have $5,000 to pay for fines. So guess where these dirt poor illegal aliens are going to get $5,000? Crime! Watch for the crime rate to soar.

F'ing idiots. The whole f'ing amnesty thing is stupid but the $5,000 fine made me laugh.

Immigration law foes trying to scare Americans: Bush

05-29-2007, 19h20
GLYNCO, United States (AFP)

US President George W. Bush said Tuesday that opponents of a landmark law to normalize the status of 12 million illegal immigrants were trying to stir up fear among Americans.

In an energetic defense of the proposed law soon to be debated in the Senate, Bush rejected critics who are calling the legislation an amnesty for illegal immigrants, and said kicking them out of the country is "simply unrealistic."

"If you want to scare the American people, what you say is, 'The bill's an amnesty bill.' It's not an amnesty bill. That's empty political rhetoric trying to frighten our fellow citizens," Bush said in southern Georgia at a training center for government security officials.

"Amnesty is forgiveness for being here without any penalties," he said. "This bill is not an amnesty bill."

The law, which was presented to the Senate last week, could eventually make legal most of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the country in what would be the most sweeping change to immigration laws in 21 years.

While providing more money to tighten border control against those sneaking into the United States, it would require those who came to the country before January 1, 2007 to pay 5,000 dollars in fines and apply for legal status in a process that would at one point require them to return to their home country.

Permanent status would only be granted after a vetting process which, according to the bill as it now stands, would rank them by education, job and language skills, instead of mainly prioritizing those with family already in the United States as has been the case.

It would also set a mechanism for 200,000 temporary guest workers to enter the country for two-year stints.

And it also encourages tougher action against employers who hire illegal immigrants.

But the bill has kicked up strong and vocal opposition across the country the backers fear could kill its progress -- even though polls show most Americans support the reform.

"This reform's complex. There's a lot of emotions around this issue. Convictions run deep," Bush argued Tuesday.

"Those determined to find fault with this bill will always be able to look at a narrow slice of it and find something they don't like.

"If you want to kill the bill, if you don't want to do what's right for America, you can pick one little aspect out of it. You can use it to frighten people."

While the bill would have substantial impact on millions of people and on the economy, it is also seen as crucial to Bush's legacy as president.

Coming off a successful pushback against Democrats aiming to stifle his Iraq war policy, Bush is aiming to prod the immigration bill through Congress -- with the help of Democrats -- in what could be the last major domestic initiative of his presidency.

He hopes for an agreement on the bill by August; it has been presented to the Senate for debate and, if passed then must go to the House of Representatives where it faces a stiff challenge.

If the bill is stalled at that point, it could fall victim finally to the opening of the full 2008 presidential election campaign season.

"The system is broken to the point where people are being used as human cargo, being exploited, simply because most want to come and provide for their families. Most are willing to do jobs Americans aren't doing. The system needs to be fixed," Bush insisted.

"I know there are some people out there hollering and saying, 'Kick 'em out.' That is simply unrealistic. It won't work."

Great Copy and Paste....

What exactly are you looking for by simply posting a news article?

You must be seeking something in response. Clarify a bit so peolpe have a direction instead of just responding with blithering statements of nonsense that have no common thread.

There's a lot more involved than just the processor and amount of RAM to start...

If your ISP sucks you could have the best PC in the World and it wouldn't get the desired quality you are seaching for.

Start with the Game specs first and maybe compare that to what you have had success with playing before.

I'm sure there will be many more detailed rsponses that may or may not be pertinent as advice given the vast differences in everyone's setup from the ISP to the inner components of their PC.

This survey began on May 30th, 2007. This page last updated: 3:02am PST (11:02 GMT), May 31 2007

CD-ROM - 3,228   4.71%

DVD - 64,760         94.48%

(other % left was undertermined)

It's a voluntary Survey. Not everyone with a PC submitted (70k+)....the stats are far from a true representation of ALL PC users.

Really though, chill, it's not that big of a deal unless you make it so...It took less than 20 minites to upgrade TBC w/ 5 CDs.

Problems with WoW - I'm opinionated and possibly misinformed. Say what you will.

Community -
Essentially, very little of the WoW community is actually made up of players who know what makes an MMO "good." Many WoW players are either a)Battle.net kiddies, b)First time gamers who want to try the most popular game or c)Friends of either a or b. Because of this, population of WoW is well... massive. And in turn, people tend to think that WoW must be a good game if so many people play it. However, these players who have no experience with MMOs in general just don't make a good community for a true player to be around.

Lack of Skill- In short, you don't need to actually be a skilled player to be any good at WoW. Anyone can pick it up and play adequetly. This is great for new players, but in the endgame, it pretty much breaks the system. People who have had enough time to grind for all the good gear will beat you, even if you are more skilled than you. This is frusturating no doubt.

Grind- WoW is just one big grind. It's all you ever do. Grind your levels. Grind your trade skills. Grind your reputation. Grind the battlegrounds. In my opinion, an MMORPG should reward players for doing whatever they want to do. You shouldn't have to grind all these meaningless things to be able to play. Grinding isn't fun, and it isn't fun for a sustained period of time.

PvP-
PvP in WoW is a joke. Why? It was an afterthought. If I remember correctly, PvP wasn't even in the game till beta. Blizzard balanced WoW for PvE, and because of that, PvP is unbalanced, and lacks the requirement of skill. If WoW was balanced for PvP first, it would be a better game. PvE is easier to balance for, mainly because you can control the situations the characters will be put in, and therefore make it necessary to bring along certain classes.

Lack of Immersion- This is just a personal problem, but WoW really does not immerse the player in the game world to the extent that other games do. Leaving your impression on the world is more like posting that you killed a monster first, as opposed to writing down your tail in a book and putting it in the library for all to see. You can't really change the world other than the ways Blizzard has planned for it to be changed.

----

I played WoW for 2 and a half years, and these are the conclusions I have drawn. Not to say I didn't have a fun time playing it, but now that I'm pretty much off it, I'm beginning to see how it compares to other games out there.

Few problems i had with this post:

1. Lack of Imagination - Same ol shit that everyone else posts.

2. Repetitive - Same ol shit that everyone else posts.

3. Very Whiny - Same ol shit that everyone else posts.

4. Boring - Once again same ol shit that every one posts therfore very boring to read once again.

Conclusion - *sob sob* another person who does not like WoW who feels the urge to repeat the same old bullshit that all the "elitest's" feel they need to post.

Couldn't have said it any better ;)

I honestly see nothing stated that  creates a need to raise the subscription price any higher than the standards we are already at. Much higher and I definitely think you will limit the community.  Price rises mainly happen in certain markets due to peoples willingness to spend more, and your openness to it does not help the end user. It's not to say that they shouldn't be paid any wage donating time for free and washing my car for nickels but  near 15 bucks a month per user is quiet a good deal on their  end.  The very fact that you pay more for your candy bars and ice cold beverages would only make one  believe you would have even less money to spend on entertainment so why in hell would we want to pay more for that too?
i can understand why you would think i'm nuts for suggesting a higher monthly fee.

I just feel that if  AoC is as good as I think it will be; a 19.95 subscription for 30 days would be good for the players.
Yes,it would be beneficial for us gamers by showing that we are willing to fork out more cash for quality.
It would send a message to future mmorpg developers that hey if you actually make something good, yes you can charge a little more and we will happily pay extra with a smile on our face.

C'mon guys,it still will cost LESS than $1 USD  per day.
Fellow gamers let's all help send that message.
Age of Conan a Premium Mmorpg.

You are entitled to your somewhat obscure opinion, but I will not encourage an increase in any MMO.  Specifically one that is not even finshed. There is no rational reason to push the cost of gaming up.

You sound like someone who has been compensated to push the idea.  How far have you progressed into the game? Are you any where near end game status. Honestly, there's no reason for  making such outlandish speculation...

Read what the other respondents have said. It's obvious you are out of bounds with any such desire.

How bought you list 5 GOOD reasons YOU feel justify a monthly fee increase you suggest. You even said it yourself "I just feel that if AoC is as good as I think it will be".

You really don't know yourself. It just could be the SUGAR..........

I'm another that played the trial but never subscribed.

At first it was interesting and I enjoyed going through the tutorial.

I didn't chat much but watched the 'few' others, mostly experienced players, have very short discussions.

Several times I came to an impasse and just could not figure out what I was supposed to do. I ask questions and did receive responses after several minutes. Brief as they where they usually came from 1 of 2 other players.

Moving out to explore, I found the graphics stunning. I really did seem like you where out in space. Started to mine for currency and building parts to enhance my ship. Upgraded original and purchased upgrades several times.

Ok, basic idea where I got to. Problem I encountered that keep me from subscribing?

Too slow...Going though the Star Gates is like an eternity, too slow...=Mining enough to accomplish my goals, too slow...=Waiting for a response when asking a question, too slow and usually not really addressed properly...if I ask too many too often, Silence.

So, the time sink creating the lack of activity just didn't set well.

Creating your character is great there are many otions to make them unique.

Deciding what profession is a bit more difficult until you figure out which way you want to play.

The lower lvls are also a bit slow but things pick up as you level up.

Worth the trial, check out the forums to get a better feel for the game play strategies.
