"Now some people might say "get a life and go outside"......well how long am I supposed to go outside? 2 or 3 years? When can I come back and finally play a good and fresh mmo again?"

You said it so you must have already considered the option. I used to be a MLB fan, no longer the case. I'm better off without it.

Personally I feel threads like these are valuable - they give a straw poll about strength of player feelings on various topics.  This is a website about MMORPGs, not just WoW, and given that game designers want to make something that does not annoy their players, then an indication of feeling from other games, especially if you want to emulate that game's base design model, can provide useful insights.

The issue with WoW that is obvious from this and threads like it is that by targetting a young market and taking a very "cards-close-to-the -chest" approach, young customers buying the game may be mistaken in thinking that level 60, or 70, or 80 etc was "the end-game".  It won't be, 100 seems likely to be the endgame for WoW, but even that may change.  As such a percentage of your customer base may always feel you have just invalidated their really hard work accumulating level x raid gear, which could be countered by a more clarity around what the future holds.  But that would be at a cost too, so overall the whiners can just whine a little why everyone else goes and kills things.

Well put but I don't feel it's ironic but then you can feel that way. I could care less really it's just the same whineing time and again, no real valuable content from them.  That's the thing they whine about the same stuff when ever one of these posts pop up. The point they continue to make has been made over and over seemingly only for their need to whine. I responded to THIS one as I don't post alot and dropped a couple points on my 'rating' status lol...somewhat to see if I would Gain or Lose a point. It was more a post to get a better feel for the rating system on this site.

Yet another Bash WoW post...

Save a few posters its the same people making the same negative comments.

Would appear you have a real 'personal problem' with WoW.

It yuou don't like the game, FINE, but why continue to vent your negative perspective?

Do you get some kind of satisfaction being so negative?

I find it interesting and hilarias actually to see a post like this appear time after time after time after................

Have fun with what ever it is YOU like and relive yourself from the bitter decaying WoW Bashing.

Your choice, your life...if you have one...

Yes they did. The servers went down last night.

So just to confirm. This is the update patch where they will be transferring all their servers to new databases? Hopefully fixing a large sum of lag and other glitches?

They aren't upgrading their Direct X just yet are they?

I'm pretty excited!

Sorry to be picky but it would be "transferring all databases to new servers"...DBs reside on Servers not the other way around.

Many places and stuff to explore and experiment atm, over whelming tbh

Since I'm only at LvL15 (Hunter, yay!), and much of the high end stuff n toys maybe out of reach for me, I'll take my time now. I guess I'm slightly better than froobs in terms of game goodies.

Hmmm, Hunter isn't a Profession...maybe you mean Adventurer?

Anyway, the game is in re-vamp over haul atm and will be even better on completion. New servers and graphics engines will make a huge impact.

All day downloads do seem a bit excessive, maybe a different ISP or possibly better PC?

Now that you have finally discovered AO, enjoy it and take notes as it will get even more involved as you lvl...

IQ is subjective.

Education should not come into play. A person will acquire/gain more information about what they are educated on. Education does not necessarily raise their IQ. The way a person uses their thought process is much more a factor.

Your brain is what it is and each individual will develop that brain within their own life experiences. These experiences can help them cope with day to day life but their IQ will be what it is and has been. They can 'score' higher due to these experiences, formal education included.

It is also subjective in result with the actual IQ 'Test'. This 'test' will have different results according to language as well as life experiences. To some extent there will be different answers to the same questions but that is a result of these life experiences. They will answer questions according to what they have experienced and how they dealt with it.

IQ tests are subject making the results subjective. One will never get a true evaluation of any nations average IQ. The 'list' is subject as a result and cannot be used as a viable comparison.

It is interesting and a good topic of debate. A debate that cannot be absolute...

Are you doing Missions to gain your 1k token board? Not only a good diversion from running around solo in the wilderness, but a great way to 'control' the number of mobs you are facing and attaining a great benefit with the Token board enhancements. Missions will help you get to lvl 100 where you will find the Prof a lot stronger and gain experience of how to better 'play' NT.

"New"Router. That would be my first point if investigation. Remove it from the picture and try the download again. If it's still slow, then it's either your ISPs settings/Add-ons OR your PC configuration...

BTW if you are downloading WoW for the first time ever, then yeah it's going to take some time, couple hours anyway. As stated above, start the DL then just go do something else. Like start it just before you go to sleep at night and it will be done when you wake up!

Stealing cars and and shooting at the Police isn't my idea of 'fun' to say the least.

there was no creator.existence is eternal

imho

No creator.  Even though I disagree, that's an interesting take and one that certainly inspires thought and discussion. But, existance is eternal?  Please don't take this the wrong way, but that statement makes my point regarding the limitations of our minds.  It's so difficult for us to imagine ZERO existance, no space, no time.  Because we exist in time and all human events are relative to some time period, it's very haed to conceive of there being no time.  But all science points to the fact that before the universe came into existence, time itself did not exist.  If we can't wrap our minds around this base concept, we aren't equipped to make absolute pronouncements.

Actually that's wrong.  Science is finding that the existence of time prior to the big bang fits better then no time.  I believe that it has something to do with dark matter.

You see, galaxies form in specific places and science isn't really able to understand why it does that.  The idea that there was this explosion that created everything doesn't fit with the way the universe is structured.  Things aren't moving or possitioned in places that fit with the previous big bang model.  It's looking more and more like there was a collision of two objects that resulted in the big bang, and it's possible that there were other things (pockets of matter) present prior to the that collision.

There are stars in the universe that are OLDER then the universe itself.  In order for this to happen it means that time existed, along with matter, prior to the big bang.

I for one do not believe that the big bang created ALL matter, but instead was a trigger for the formation of galaxies and the boarders of what is now our universe; as well as dispercing some amount of matter that get trapped within dark matter..  I believe that universes form and then die, like everything in the universe it's not endless.  However some matter is able to survive beyond the collapse of a universe that when the universe reforms are turned back into new galaxies.

Personally I think light is more important then time is.  We simply percieve time, in itself I do not believe that time has any tangible qualities (It's not really real).  Light on the other hand is tangable, and where ever you find anything you find light.  We exist along a beam of light created by the big bang.  The heat from that light is important.

Think about this.  If there is no time then how can you have a progression of events prior to the big bang.  You can't.  Time has to be there in order for anything to actually occur.  Otherwise the universe would have never formed at all.

Something I wrote some time ago.
The sun, the moon, the earth.  the pieces of life that are responsible for existance and birth.  We are but small things moving toward an eventual end; not one thing created has proven an endless existance.  If all things must end so why not an end to the end of existance?  Will not the end cease to be and begin a new existance?  Do not think in terms of life and death but that wich makes life is endless and is the only endless of things to exist.  If that wich makes life may continue on endlessly then what does that say of those whose existance must end?  Think instead, were do we begin again?  It's about time.

Interesting perspective Urdig.  The following is for you but others may find it intriguing as well.

What is your PC OS?

"Direct connect to internet" doesn't mean a whole lot. The ISP does.

I've only experirnced what you disctbe a couple of times and it was due to my PC config and/or my ISP.

Firewalls can cause issues like yours, Zone Alarm for example and even setting for Norton AV.

Little more info will help others help you figure it out.

My experience on, 4 different servers, Horde wins most of the time against my random pickup team - Alliance won most of the time with Premade.

It's not so much a matter of which side has better 'skills' as it is team work.

Vent helps a lot in Guild Premade as the team members are familiar with each other and we listen and take direction. It's rare to find that kind f cooperation on any Pick up.

Horde play more Premade than Alliance in general.

Urdig,

I'm not going to disagree with any of what you have stated. Or most of what others are conveying.

My point is that the Earth is such a Huge dynamic 'thing' I think it will change according to it's own existence.

If that includes us humans causing some things occur sooner or later, is not out of the question. Personally I don't feel we have done that much to alter the direction of the Earth's changes. Maybe I'm wrong. There's too much unknown about the actual Facts involved. No ones belief here is absolute. What is absolute is that we all have a take on what is happening. That's the first step in determining if our human actions are negative, positive or null...according to Planet Earth.

there is an abundance of information indicating this that or the other is causing the climate changes. As you mentioned, the Earth's cycles are rooted in it's own existence and it will do what is necessary to return to the state where it is balance within. It still remains that nothing is forever. The planet is very old compared to mankind. The facts and data that have been collected in the past few centuries is but a small clue of what has happens since the 'beginning'...whatever that is. WE don't know for sure, WE can only summarize from the little we do know.

Back to the original topic of this thread "Global what?", the 'Global Warming' thing was spawned by politicians and/or people who care more about their own legacy than that of the Planet. Regarding 'Carbon Footprints', Al Gore has one of the largest that exists. ONE of his 3 homes averages more that $30k in electricity use per month! For this man to take the position he has and get so many people worked up is beyond moral ethics.

But then this is a bit OT and I've rambled a bit.

BTW my Carbon footprint is 83.

Greenland hasn’t been “green” in half a million years. 800 years ago there were areas on the coast that could support limited agriculture, but this is also true today.

Exactly...even with the gloom and doom associated with "global warming" according to Al Gore, it won't play out in 10, 20 , 30 or 100 years, it will take hundreds if not thousands of years to manifest to the proportions being touted by the radicals.

This planet has been around for a long time. It continues to change. These changes do not happen within in the span of a generation or several generations. Don't be so short sighted. We, the people of Earth right now, will never see the drastic predictions, from the Algoreans. They will occur far into the future....maybe.

WE just don't know and cannot predict these things at this time. We can make a difference with our immediate control of pollution and waste. Mankind can continue to explore and discover new and cleaner ways to exist.

Will those efforts make a difference to the destiny of the plant Earth? Only Time will tell...

Humans have little to no affect on the so called Global Warming 'theory".  It is only a "theory".

"Scientist" have discovered planet Mars is warming at an alarming rate. If this warming rate continues, the Northern Ice Cap of Mars will melt in less than 25 years.

Edit: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070228-mars-warming.html :

Planets' Wobbles

The conventional theory is that climate changes on Mars can be explained primarily by small alterations in the planet's orbit and tilt, not by changes in the sun.

"Wobbles in the orbit of Mars are the main cause of its climate change in the current era," Oxford's Wilson explained. (Related: "Don't Blame Sun for Global Warming, Study Says" [September 13, 2006].)

All planets experience a few wobbles as they make their journey around the sun. Earth's wobbles are known as Milankovitch cycles and occur on time scales of between 20,000 and 100,000 years.

These fluctuations change the tilt of Earth's axis and its distance from the sun and are thought to be responsible for the waxing and waning of ice ages on Earth.

Mars and Earth wobble in different ways, and most scientists think it is pure coincidence that both planets are between ice ages right now.

"Mars has no [large] moon, which makes its wobbles much larger, and hence the swings in climate are greater too," Wilson said.

www.heartland.org/Article.cfm :

Sallie Baliunas, chair of the Science Advisory Board at the George C. Marshall Institute, said, "Pluto, like Mars, is also undergoing warming." However, Baliunas speculated it is "likely not the sun but long-term processes on Mars and Pluto" causing the warming. However, until more information is gathered, Baliunas said, it is difficult to know for sure.

Applying their long-term data, the Duke scientists concluded, "the sun may have minimally contributed about 10 to 30 percent of the 1980-2002 global surface warming."www.canada.com/nationalpost/story.html

The earth is in constant change. Another Ice Age is coming but before that happens the earth will warm to melt all the Ice Caps.

Greenland was once a fertile bed for agriculture as shown thru archaeological evidence.

As I stated before I believe the earth is warming. I do not believe that we as humans can affect that concept short of setting off a chain of Nukes around the globe at the same time.

What I also do not believe is the Al Gore concept. The man is no more than a sooth-sayer for his own benefit.

Can we make a difference in the way we affect the world by our thoughtless actions and disregard? Yes of course.

Can we prevent the inevitable planet changes that would occur even without any humans present?  No...
