Why do i have to keep repeating myself, if you ignore these people they get bored and go away. It s like a little kid copying everything you say. If you stop they get bored and move on. Just stop feeding them.

Theres always the same few people starting shit about WAR. The game is fun, has a few issues, but for a recent release is in amazing shape. People have to realize that these few people are a HUGE minority and theres no real need to defend anything against these few. If you re having fun , play it and ignore them. I for one haven t had this much fun in a MMO in years. I actually re subbed after WAR released, to see how it was doing.  I do that with old games alot as i m playing my game of choice i ll see how old ones are doing. On the servers i logged into, i can t see any increase or real decrease. It s still pretty damn barren to me. I don t think this game will ever re coup like some want it to, but i don t think it will be shut dow like others want it to.

Only people that give it  1 are not playing it and just trying to get the rabid fanboys who gave it a 10 down a notch. It s a solid 8.5-9 to me because it s very fun and my whole guild agrees.

I completely disagree. I remember WOW the first few levels i thought hmm pretty good, and i hated it by level 20. In WAR i actually thought hmm ok it s doable at level 5 by the time i hit 12 and keep takes etc i LOVED it. So no not all need will be the same at lvl 3 and 20 etc.

Yes, I understand that but at lower levels a lot of people have still not left their pairings.  This is why the Order side may have one tank running around in Nordenwatch.  It would also disburse some of the Bright Wizards people are playing.  Its a wonder to not have at least four of them in a scenario.  Last night I ran into a group of six of them, a couple marauders ran in and took them down faster then they could tuck tail and run.

You don t need to leave your pairings to do this :)

Eh, no worries man, I doubt this will be the case with WAR. I plan to pick that up next week, open beta has been a blast so far.

Ya, i m an elder tester and knew i would love the game. I m a 2 game going at once type so i was hoping AOC would be my secondary game. Nope didn t work out, but i have Life sub for LOTRO and i m enjoying that game as a secondary to WAR.

Honestly as much as i detest FC i feel sorry for people playing still and trying to like AOC. It s truly in bad shape. I m glad i cancelled ages ago and got my copy as a gift.

I m going to respond by saying no :) My wife and i did a test on several srvers. We rolled a Black Orc/Shaman combo on 4 servers and a Iron Breaker/ Rune priest on 4 others. At level 5 on all servers on all those toons we went into Scenarios. I was everytime taking on 3 or 4 enemies with either tank, and wife healing. We rarely lost because NOONE attacked the healer. Not sure what game they came from but i can tell they re not old DAOC players. It s really how people play , if they re not smart seeing a tank getting healed non stop and keep after him it proves they re not sure how these games especially rvr type games work. Go after the healer and your team will win most of the time. Either way the classes seem prettty balanced to me, more the gameplay of most. I think when more guilds that know each others playstyles and understand their roles better the tide will change.

"UI". Other MMOs have hotbars as well. NwN had hotbars. Diablo had hotbars. Even Microsoft Word has hotbars. Most of these also bring up hp bars when you click on the target. It works, it's effective. Don't fix what doesn't need fixing.

Fine, if you like em, np, to me they look like WoW which was my point. I've never played WoW, disliked what I considered the kiddieish look of it, but over the years in designing my own game I studied WoW to better understand what made it stand out. Btw, was WoW your first mmo experience?

Ok?  Doesn't Matter.  WoW as an MMORPG came first in the industry, it does not matter where the IP came from.  And you can also make the arguement that the whole fantasy thing came from tolkien first.

3, Play the game it is nothing like it

Lots of support in this statement...I and many others played the game this week and while the game is certainly more geared towards PVP, it still plays a LOT like WoW.  The cartoony graphic style, the target/button mash combat, the UI (ill explain more in next point), !/? symbols above NPC heads just given a different symbol.

4, The UI changes for each of the races like I said try the damn game.

Aye but not enough to make the layout of it that much different and EQ/WoW like.

5, The WoW 'UI' as you call it was around before WoW

Literally everything you said is in any MMO. Why the hell is it that many games before and after WOW is like that but WAR can t be. I logged into a friends WOW account the other day and i can t beleive how the graphics aren t really similar at all.  Gameplay is the hugest thing, sure it has similarities as many games do but WAR plays hugely different from WOW. Anyways some people are too blind or haven t really played the game to know. I m an elder tester and can atest to the fact the more you play it the more you ll see how unsimilar they are.
 

No way will i cancel, the game is flat out fun. I lost no one in our guild and some that never considered buying are loving it :)

I ve noticed this trend as well where Order is outnumbered, but i can say i ve seen Order as a much more organized realm in general. That proves to me anyways that more Order are probably older less hyper, gotta be uber and try and solo everyone type players. They run in packs, defend points better etc. I think in my opinion anyways they re a little more of the mature side, especially when i compare the RVR chat on both sides. Order seems to have less leet chat that i ve seen anyways.

Im not going to comment on the OB because well it s near perfect, but Order tanks i ve got to say one thing, BM are an absolute pain in the ass to play against, especially in later levels. They re abilities they get are some of the best. Tough and damaging bastards i say. I hate them and love them at the same time.

They ve said many times why go find out for yourself why and how many people are responding that it s a good thing. You re little opinion on this matter probably doesn t effect Mythics thoughts on this matter one bit.

Wow, this almost stated my sentiments EXACTLY, other than the fact that I haven't experienced any lag.  I have run across numerous mobs that can attack ME, that when I attempt to attack THEM, I get a lovely all caps yellow sentence running across the screen that says, "TARGET IS NOT ATTACKABLE" or something like that.  WTF??

On the depth issue, I pretty well have to agree.  Admittedly, my highest level toon so far between PW and OB plus and now....was/is a lvl14 shaman.  I did manage to at least get my renown rank 6 gear, too.  Love the shaman class.  Made a DoK...that's pretty cool too.  Fiddled with a bright wizard....meh.  Uhm....everything is "pretty cool."  It just doesn't "grab me" for some reason.  And yes...I'm already pretty burnt out on scenarios and most public quests, actually.  They're all fun at first, but for me, it just seems pretty repetitive on most levels.

OH YES...and I'm sorry, to anyone that might disagree, but the crafting is abyssmal.  Is it even POSSIBLE to have less depth to crafting than WoW?  The answer is a resounding yes...and Mythic did manage that.  Sure in WoW you have to make some useless stuff to level, but at least you have to do a bit more than what there is in WAR. 

I think most PvP-centric people will like the game.  I, personally, don't HATE it.  I rather enjoy it, or rather....parts of it.  Yet it still doesn't have that exciting feeling that I remember when I first started playing other MMOs.  I just can't quite put my finger on WHAT, exactly, that it lacks.   O.o  It doesn't suck.  It just doesn't "PWN" either.

I feel....ambivalent.

 

 

All i can say to both of you is wait , you haven t seen the best this game has to offer as far as rvr is concerened :) As far as fun as DAOC it is to me in many ways and more but DAOC was my first MMO with RVR ( pvp) and your first is usually the best :) Anyways you ll have much more fun trust me:) Crafting is another story, they said a million times they re not making it an integral part of the game it s just a mini game really, that can produce some good stuff. I myself am happy because i HATE crafting and hate when it s literally needed in a MMO to compete or at least know someone that is one.
