Well, unlike yourself, I think I'll withhold judgment until I get a chance to play the released version of the game so that I can see how the game plays after the 20 level tutorial, give the crafting a try, participate in some of the open world pvp, and eventually, the end game pvp/raids. 

IMO there's no way you can tell whether this game succeeds or fails on the little bit they've let most folks play so far.  All it does is let you know you want to see more.

edit: Oh yes, and there's never an end of the discussion, or we'd  all have to concede that WOW 'rules', and I'm pretty sure most folks here won't be doing that.

 

 

Yes of of course things can change but my first gut feeling said this game will be a huge hit. Yes its a beta, it crashes, it freezes, etc but people HAVE got to be stupid not to believe this will not get fixed in patches, there are patches for years to come ffs. I enjoyed the gameplay and mechanics enough to understand this is a game for me.

......and thats why Age of Conan will be my second MMO account besides Wow,  because it rules compared to other already fully releashed games I have tried(free trials), it as simple as that. Sure as someone says, it takes time to get into a MMO, seriously now , you either like a game or not by gut feeling, I sure liked Age of Conan BETA enough to buy it and I know I will love the full release, in fact, I cant wait for it! 

You talk alot about PvP, hmm isnt that all up to the players themselves?!

Im more concerned about the PVE aspect of Age of Conan.

 

 

Beta issues or not i found the game to not be very good anyways. It was fairly bland and the combat system was a huge clickfest. I know alot will disagree but i m saying it as i saw it.

well, BETA TESTING isn't for everyone.

It has nothing to do with that my system is better then my friends that runs it pretty good how does a better comp work worse. This frusterates me to no end. I will not wait around to see what happens after release and pay for it. I m better off seeing without paying i wont be upset if i never play it, It s just a game after all.

I unfortunately found it unstable and frusterating. I have a very good comp and i shouldn t have issues. It hasn t changed at all for me over the 3 days. I cancelled my pre order and will wait a long time to buy it if ever. I m waiting on WAR now so that long time will be wars release.

   Funcom is known for this stuff Anarchy-Online there only other mmog came out and was so horrible and buggy and unstable that is was considered the worse mmog launch in history til horrizons and Vanguard came out and hell I still think both of those had better launches than Anarchy Online did.It was so bad they shut down the forums  to try to stop the bleeding and had to go hire a firm to help them with public relatations.Even after that if you bashed the game on there forums they would ban your gaming account over it.

 

  Then they released Shadowlands expansion for AO which was not even finished at the higher lvls the items you needed to get to the higher lvls were not in the game yet the devs swore they were continued to lie and say rare drop rate for months after then finally admitted they were never in the game due to them not having the zones finished.

 

 Then they released Alien Invasion expansion advertised and sold the expansion on the premise of a player market and shops which was not in the expansion and took thenm 7-8 months afterwards to finally get them in.This is the type of company funcom is if you think they have changed I suggest you go back look over how they have treated there customers as a whole and then compare it to how they are doing with AoC and see if you don't notice some similarties.

After  reading most of this how will this one of 4 or 5 builds lol above poster said will do during siege. I ll wait to see that  i ll let others pay for that :)

Well thats good :) 2 to 1 for i see it differently :) but even at 2 to 1 for such a hyped game is not very good. It could have had a HUGE player base but i m starting to think it won t. I m having a hard time even logging in it just frusterates me. I ve seen people post tweaking guides etc like turn off 1 proc etc , to me that makes no sense but oh well to each their own. Hope you all have fun in AOC i regretably cancelled my pre order and wait on purchase to a later date.

I m new to these boards well posting anyways. I have to say i started out enjoying the beta. My system is very good and it wasn t acceptable to have such issues. It s so close to release and i know people are saying it s a different buildetc(why the hell would they do this) but it s looking as though it will be  a bad release. With all the rumors i ve heard from closed beta and leaks etc, then to release a piss poor beta is beyond me. Why can t we just have a good MMO to play. I guess i ll look more into WAR.
