Yeah this video really did make me like the combat system instantly.
I think the combat system is going to require a lot of twitch combat and just knowing the game to be good at. I really hope they do an open beta like wow did, if they do the game will be super populare and probably easily hit the #2 mmo in America via subs. |

That is all you're doing every time you moan about the current build of SWG.
The game will never be back to pre-cu or cu, except for the..... you know.
So seriously, SOE supported SWG servers? Do you honestly want that? Do you? When in the future we wont have to worry about SOE at all?
Come on guys, give it a rest, it's not worth sitting here dreaming about SOE magically opening a few classic servers for a group of whiners, most of us don't even give a fuck about SOE anymore and would rather avoid playing any game under their companies command.
Get a grip, wait it out, and the game you once love just may be able to be played, without SOE's bs. |

Blizzard confirms new MMO in development

Oh man world of Diablo. I can see it now, but the thing is, it would be way more fun then world of warcraft. |

I played a shaman from day one.
As a shaman the weapons buffs and shocks are not what will confuse you, but all of our totems, infact we have so many totems that are so situational it sucks. But since you're curious about shocks and buffs I will tell you what I use them for.
WEAPON BUFFS
Rockbiter - I used rockbiter until i got flametongue, but if you plan on grinding as enhancement rockbiter is the best thing you have until you get windfury, this weapon buff pretty much increases the DPS of you weapon making you hit harder. Great to use against lower armored targets.
Flametongue - This just adds a set ammount of fire damage after each swing, I used this most the time while grinding because I was elemental. + spell damage and crit affect this proc, i forgot the exact ratios but it scales at a decent rate, this is a good weapon buff you you're elemental or resto.
Frostbrand - This is a chance on hit proc to deal a set amount of damage. it also has a slowing affect(slows to 75% of normal speed). This weapon buff also scales with spell damage and is affected by spell crit, a good weapon buff for resto and ele shaman, or great in the offhand if you dual wield.
Windfury - This is the last weapon buff you will get an honestly, probably the best of the 4. If you're enhancement this is the be all end all of weapon buffs. How this works is you get 2 attacks after the proc(20% chance) that have an increased attack power aka... it hits like a truck. This weapon buff has caused many people to cry....
Now for the shocks. Shocks all have a global cooldown of 6 seconds, 5 with talents, and each shock has a use of it's own.
Earth Shock - This shock interupts spell casting and causes all spells from the same school to have a 2 second cooldown.
Frost Shock - This spell snares your enemy for 8 seconds at 50% pretty much used to catch stuff running from you.
Flame Shock - This shock does damage and has a 12 second DOT on it, it's cheaper then the other shocks as far as mana cost goes also.
hope that helps you, and GL with your shaman, I'm rerolling warrior myself. |

How many have you killed in PVP (at once)?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/04/07 1:35:03 PM
Back in SWG, I killed about 12 people by my self, they where fully buffed just complete noobs.
I played on a server with a lot of RPers and stuff like that who sucked at PvP, but we also has a lot of really good PvPers who went on to conquer other servers before WoW came out and all the good guilds left. |

Are *YOU* Pessimistic or Optimistic About Future MMORPGs? [Poll]
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/04/07 1:26:17 PM
To be completely honest I don't know what to think of the MMO market right now.
World of Warcraft has, no matter how much you hate the game or not, taken the market in a manner I don't think any company could have ever imagined outside of Asia
Honestly I think the market is falling part, but I've lost faith since the death of pre-cu SWG, what was my first and most favorite mmo of all time.
I see a lot of MMOs coming in the future, but I doubt any will really be worth a damn, people go to play games with friends and when that doesn't work they just don't play, most peoples friends are in WoW, so WoW keeps growing as other games just kinda sit there, it sucks wow has a terrible community but just such a large one it it ends up working for them. |

Originally posted by OzmodanWhat the hell are you talking about? Darkfall has video of in-game battles you moron. Maybe they're not going to rush into beta so the game gets a bad rep because of some major bugs, but I can say the game probably could be in beta and people doing shit right now. Darkfall is not like your typical MMORPG that has been getting funded and the support of a major publisher for the years they've been working on it, the team has really put a lot of their own resources into the project. So ya it will take longer for them, shit they're probably doing a graphics overhaul right now just because people talk shit about how bad it looks(when honestly I think it looks just fine in most cases). Anyways quit spreading retardation. There is already enough of that on the internet.

SWG will never have as many people as it use to, this is the turth so, old players will always think the servers look dead, we're use to cnet being full of people.
I don't play though so I dunno who is still around. |

But casual is the player not the game, the guy sounds like he gets addicted to MMOs and he'll probably get addicted to any MMO he plays unless it's completely lackluster TBH.
I still think the guy should try EVE. |

I think EVE Online would be a good game for you to try, it's pretty straight forward and easy to play once you get into the groove of things.
Only set back is once you're training high end skills it can take a couple weeks to finish, the good thing is, you don't have to be logged in to actually learn the skill! It's pretty easy to sit down 2-3 hours a day and play, and honestly I recommend the game to anyone who's sick of the current MMO market...
But I'll also honestly say I'm not playing it atm and dunno what's new or what changes have been made... currently playing WoW..... and I have to say I use to play wow 3-4 times a week for a few hours in a raiding guild, it is possible to do. |

please help save STO from being misshandled
Perpetual Studios Version Discussion « Star Trek Online 1/24/07 9:58:38 AM
I for one want to say the SoE is a great publisher.... Even after the SWG thing I still respect them.
STO Is one of 3 MMOs out there right now I'm even intrested in, there is so much Star Trek lore floating around out there that this game could easily have tons of content and intresting situations for you and your crew to conquer.
Right now though, I'm more worried about the Star Trek universe feeling like the Star Trek universe :)
I have a feeling it will. So I'm not going to say anything until I feel that element of the game is in danger. |

If SOE made a pre-CU SWG server, would you play again?
General Discussion « Star Wars Galaxies 8/11/06 9:49:55 AM
Problem with SOE/LA, I honestly feel LA is probably more at fault here then SOE, is that when World of Warcraft came out it became one of the largest MMO's pretty much in the world. A lot of people left SWG to play WoW, but I know a lot of us after a few motnhs where coming abck to play also. Just SOE/LA seen this game, making the money they've probably made in 2 years look like chump change, and they wanted a piece of the cake. Problem is changing a game you're going to lose customers, and everyone in WoW was happy with WoW.
I talk to so many people who love pre-CU SWG, hopefully someday our dreams will come true. |

If SOE made a pre-CU SWG server, would you play again?
General Discussion « Star Wars Galaxies 8/10/06 2:54:13 PM
I only made this because, I think a lot of people like myself miss the old star wars galaxies. I loved the combat, the PvP, everything. No game has been able to build community like SWG, no game had toon customization like SWG. SWG had one of the best crafting systems, and was in the right direction for a lot of other things. A few minor tweaks and the game could've been great. Hell after WoW came out I went to wow, but 3 months later i came back to lose SWG to the pre-CU.
I only ask this, because maybe SOE/LA really just needs to see that we the people, are homesick for an MMORPG that can't be redone like the old SWG. |

If SOE made a pre-CU SWG server, would you play again?
General Discussion « Star Wars Galaxies 8/10/06 2:25:45 PM
I would. Hell even if they left the easy mode Jedi system I wouldn't care. After the CU the game became just another WoW clone, and to be honest, I'd rather play WoW then a WoW clone, and that's why WoW has so many players.
Also, I'm sure this has been done a million times, I don't care we need to keep stuff like this going. |

#1. They introduced a class in the game that was ment to be more powerful then all the others, since SWG was pretty much a small group/solo game, this appleaed to everyone else... even if it fit into character. Of course I'm taling about jedi.... as weak as they may have been post-cu vs melee it's stil lthe pve factor i;m taling about.
#2. SoE/LA are copying other games in the hopes it will atract players of those gamaes... the reason most of us left was because when we asked for a combat revamp, we expected DoT weapons, "uber" gear, and over powered abilities to be scaled into a more balacing form so no class was really dominate, although te CU sorta accomplised it, it changed the game completely. #3. Chaging a setting the people where comfy with once is kinda, understandable... but not in how drastic it was fomr pre-cu to post-cu, doing it twice, will just ruin peoples hopes... Not many people have faith in the devs view of how the game should take part This is biased, I just wish SoE would make a pre-cu server so I could play a game i love, isntead of playing WoW holding onto my memories of the most perfect game i ever played... long live pre-cu SWG |
