What is the worst new MMO of 2007?

Originally posted by RonnyRulzI'm sorry your feelings got hurt - here, have a Kleenex. His response didn't come off as fact to me. I paid $40 for that overhyped, wussy-gamer friendly piece of crap. No, nobody wants to report his thread for trolling. Because he's not - and you're just whiny because someone didn't agree with your opinion of a game. The last sentence doesn't even make sense. If a game is full of bugs, and I didn't have fun playing it the first time - it's crap. |

3 Reasons why "M" rating will help keep the game more mature
General Discussion « Age of Conan 8/27/07 3:32:57 PM
I know a 7 year old who just got a PS3 and is playing Resistance Fall Of Man and Call of Duty 3. The same kid got a laptop (because mommy's little genius did so good in first grade) and we watched Saving Private Ryan on it. Not to mention his parents were smart enough to install a satellite receiver in his room so he too can watch TV, but didn't bother blocking all those pirated PPV channels - you heard me - kid has access to all the PPV movies (watched Hills Have Eyes 2) and the porno channels too. All because mommy's little sunshine got some obscure reward at the end of school year. FFS the kid is in 1st grade, who the hell doesn't get a reward in 1st grade? Has anyone ever even failed first grade for that matter so that this thing is the norm?
I don't complain cause babysitting that fuck is a blast - he has all the coolest shit. |

Marketing? Publicity? On a product designed to make money? |

Your processor is probably rated about 6.8ghz or somewhere there. I know my C2D E6600 with 1066FSB @ 2.40ghz is rated 6.8. There's just no need to overclock. Kind of like those old AMDs. That AMD 3200 may have had 2.1ghz on paper, but it was still far superior than, say, a 3.2 P4 at that time. |

neoMesis, I know you're trying to garner support for your game, but do you really need a ginormous wall of text to get your simple point across? I don't get what the rage with the graphics was with this game. I hated them. Everything was light and the bloom.. oh god the bloom of doom! Yeah the textures were nice and crisp at least... This game is pretty to the point of being nauseating. Where are the tough looking scar infested, eyepatch wearing fuglies? |

Lord of the Rings Online: Interview with Jeffrey Steefel

Until they add a real PVP element in the game and not the sorry excuse they for competitive gameplay they have now - not reactivating my account. To this day, I still believe it was a bad waste of $40.

General: Microsoft Reclusa: Keyboard Review
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/08/07 8:18:28 AM
Never really went for the whole gaming keyboard thing. Just that a basic media keyboard has been suiting me well for a while. Looking to replace it with an LED backlit keyboard and the Eclipse is looking mighty damn fine. |

It won't have a pizza order button available.
I refuse to play a game without a pizza order button, and seeing as how no game has that currently, I don't play any MMOs. Devs needs to get on with the times man, people want to order frickin' pizza in-game. |

Veteran for a little over 2 years, started about 3 months after release.
Played EVE for a bit then came back to check out what AI was all about. I could stomach SL, but AI completely ruined it for me.. The PVP aspect of the game died, it's pretty much for people with AI armor only now, which is insanely expensive. Goodbye AO. I play WoW currently, will probably leave WoW for EQ2 or AoC. |

I just bought the game today, I'll wait to make my decision.
So far? No. |

Look at Dark and Light. It was supposed to be the game to end all other games and yadi yadi yada. Wait until retail to actually judge the quality of the game, until then have fun hyping it.

Funcom should make a new MMO with concepts similar to AO but just title it differently and give it a unique name.
This "The World" thing excites me. |
|
|
Yes the game is populated. AO is huge, so you might feel lonely something out in the 'unpopular' wilderness but as soon as you enter the major cities it's packing with people, especialy in the hangout spots.
Shadowlands is a lot different because if focuses play on outdoors and you might see a lot of players out in the wild, especialy in Adonis. AO does have bugs, as does any MMO, but they're very minor. A lot of the bugs have been fixed and I can't think of one bug I encountered that I can list here as being gamebreaking. I couldn't say that 2-3 years ago. Lag? Yes there are certain times when the server just farts and there's lag. They said they added some new hardware, so it's not very bad at the moment, usualy lasts a few minutes then goes away. Doesen't happen too often I think. And yes, it's been confirmed that Lost Eden will have a graphical overhaul. Fun? That realy depends on your playstyle. If you're more into fast paced games, then AO probably won't be for you. AO heavily relies on gear and implants. I do find level 1-40 or 50 to be somewhat boring levels, because you don't have a lot of specials at that time and combat is just click, special, auto-shoot. That realy depends on the profession you play, but for the most part it's like that. The fun in AO picks up after about level 50 or so, then goes steady to about 100. At 50-100 you're teaming a lot, killing difficult monsters. At level 100 if you have Shadowlands, you are doing Hecklers which can get repeaditive until about 140. After level 150 is where AO shines however. You have good equipment and weapons at that point, hopefully QL200 implants. PvP happens a lot more often at these levels because of the higher level bracket, and the sense of pride and accomplishment just enchances yout 'want' to play. I do not recommend playing the free AO unless you just want to try out the game. Shadowlands is an amazing expansion that enchances many aspects of your gameplay, including your pace of combat because it gives you more specials from perks. Enjoy. |
What other MMO has its own radio station? In game parties every friday night curtiosy of radio free zion.
Anarchy Online has 2 radio stations that play songs exclusively for the "virtual parties" and the DJs actualy talk to ingame characters (both via chat and the radio) and make requests. One of them is called GridStream, and the other, I forgot. So, nothing new there. |

Brotherhorde, on the Burning Blade (pvp) server is now recruiting players level 40 and over. We are a fairly large guild, with about 25 level 60 players and loads of 50+ players (and lower levels) looking to expand our horizons on higher level members for end-game content. We focus on the traditional social aspects of a guild, with the addition of helping members when they need it and running instances. Have a nice day, and hope to see you in the guild! |
