Hello there ! 

Im currently playing DF, i was cought in the hype months ago and "pre-ordered" a month, but the game is not for me right now, too demanding, but thats no the point of this thread... 

What im here to ask is... In what game can i be a true Guardian/Paladin/Warrior (shield+1h) ? I mean... what mmo gives you that true feeling of being the meat bag that takes it all for its team ?  I can't remember a mmo that gives us that feeling. The only one i remember is Warhammer, but it's dead already.  I enjoy being a warrior or guardian in GW2, but it feels too weak sometimes.  

Do you get what im asking for ? i hope so !

It's good to see people enjoying this game.  DF1 had one of the most exciting PVP ever, maybe DFUW still follows the same path. But for me, the game lacks too much to be worthy a subscription.

IMO,  MMOs compared to other games genre are sub par. Specially the mainstream market, they are made so poorly, they are so similar that the "Free is cheaper"  comes handy and totally justify the current trend.

Why on earth would  one pay for a game monthly if  one can have almost the same experience for free on another similar enough.  Unless you are talking about games like EVE and other indies that offers different experiences.

I dare you to name ONE company that delivers enough content monthly to justify a sub,i dare you.... People ain't stupid, they pay what they think its fair.

AV shown us countless times how flawed they are as company from businessmen to programmers. They had a great vision but never knew how to deliver it, just like Starvault. I don't know how people still give them credit (me included) . i did once again, got to beta and realised how stupid ive been haha, they just CANT do things right.  Its a shame, really.

Or again, how about just listen to what they are saying and watching what they are refering to and then make the assessment as to whether or not they are beign critical/honest (because remember, they might honestly like something that someone else might not) and then see if they hit the mark?

I can't say I'm a total biscuit fan as I've only listened to a few of his reviews. as far as this one goes, I didn't agree with some of it such as the combat though he seemed to go back and forth on that based upon different experiences. However, he indicated that using a vehicle as a weapon was a nice fresh change and that getting one early in the game felt like a good step forward. That seems pretty "right on the money".

His critique of the inventory was definitley my assessment as well so that was on the money.

His indication that it was a shame (paraphrased) you can only have access to two of your weapons when you have many in your inventory seemed genuine though I can see arguments on both sides.

Each time he indicated his displeasure he gave examples and the examples were pretty straight forward. Each time he indicated his pleasure you the audience could see it first hand and agree or disagree.

from what I saw of the first half of the review (before my adobe flash player crashed... and it's been doing that a lot lately) it was pretty mixed with pros and cons. At no time did anything ridiculously bad happen where he praised it for being great or vice versa.

It's pretty much a running commentary on exactly what was happenign in the game at that point compared to some of his other experiences in another immpressions review.

i've seen far poorer reviews on The Escapist, or IGN or... well, this site. Not to insult anyone.

 

I do listen, what turned me off is his lack of knowlage of the game, like the AI and lack of understanding and simple logic as to how MMO start off, he was fast to make judgement before he even knew what the hell was going on, I know first hand that this games AI is no joke at higher level (ego), I know also how and what my ego points do and how to work them, also know and understand the questing and the instant dungs. this dude (TB) was talking out his ass, just for a fast buck, I am willing to say that maybe 50% of what he was saying was true, the rest was bullshit.

TB did not understand, he didn't even give more then 2 hours of play. he had a 70ish ego and that takes like what 1 hour if that. TB needs to stop making videos untill he has put time into a game, I will hear his thoughts when he makes a video with no less then 400 ego.

TB is a money hungery joke, his reviews mean jack shit to any real gamer that puts time into learning and understaning a game.

You lack logic in your thoughts. WHY  would a "real gamer" that already knows the game go after previews and reviews about the game HE ALREADY KNOWS ?!  TB videos, as any other "preview" or "review" are targeted to people that doesn't know shit about it. If you think you can do a better job explaining  it, make one review yourself or at least give a comment on his videos saying what is wrong and what is right. Maybe he will edit it or adress it in another video. Share your knowledge as well, heck, make a thread here. Why go around insulting people that (probably) you don't even know. 

I don't know SHIT about defiance but i'm mildly interested in this game and thought his video was good, as others stated, he goes saying pros and cons based on his likings and criticising the game as a product. He was honest imo, with or without full knowledge about the game, he (as any of us)  can always have an opinion and is free to share it. 

I was almost certain to buy it after his video, but i was planning to go with PS3 version. The problem is, the lack of buzz and feedback on the PS3 makes me cautious.

AoC has one of the best classes ever, the barbarian.

I miss those fatalities, maybe i will download it and give it a go.

MMOs are a HUGE "waste" of time, especially if it's a good one, you may spend half a day playing it without notice. Sorry but unless it's work/school, you shouldn't be doing the same shit half your day in a regular basis. You will enjoy it, but its not healthy and can lead to frustration/regret afterwards. But one does what one wants to. 

I'm trying to get away from MMOs, but look where i'm posting just now lol.

I wish i had spent less time playing MMOs and more time finishing other titles. I missed a good bunch due MMO "addiction".

i mean, i've talked bad about the game around here, because i'm a hater ? NO, i have a opinion about the game and its not good. Should i keep it for myself ? NO, forums exists for a reason. 

So... yeah, you can enjoy Dust but the game is kinda boring, unbalanced and feels dated. Every AAA shooter on the PS3 can top that and with Killzone 3 MP free as well, Dust may have a hard time.  And i gave it more than 1 try, i even forced myself to like it because i wanted to be part of EVE's world since i can't get into EVE itself. 

Thats my opinion, you are entitled to your own.

One thing that is consistant in a discussion about TESO is that people keep bringing up DAOC.

DAOC had RvR, Realms, Faction Locked Zones, Classes, etc. Great. So what? I dont care what DAOC has.

I dont care if there are similarities or if you can tweak and rework the Lore to make it work and fit together.

This is Elder Scrolls which is a unique and ORIGINAL IP. All on its own.

To change it in any way shape or form is doing it an injustice.

Especially as a base to remake/relaunch a 10 year old game that, in its heyday, was popular with only about 250k gamers.

 

An Elder Scrolls MMO shouldnt "remind me" of things done in DAOC, or WOW or GW2 or any other game.

An Elder Scrolls MMO should break new ground. Be a true "Next Generation" MMORPG. One that evolves the genre.

Not just rehashes the same old thing done over the last decade.

Does it have "The Elder Scrolls" as part of the name? Yes. Then it is a TES game. I dont really care if you like it or not, if you play it or not, you prolly feel the same about me, but... the fact that you like it or not doesnt really mean that it isnt a TES game just because it doesnt fit YOUR idea of a "TES game". Is WoW a Warcraft game? Yes. Does it seem anything like the other warcrafts? No. Is it still a Warcraft game? Yes.

As much as it pains me, the Cayenne is a Porsche - it doesnt fit MY IDEA of a Porsche, but it is!

Again for the ADD crowd: Does it have "Elder Scrolls" as part of the name? Yes? Then it is a "TES" game.

They will release it as a TES game, so itll be a TES game. At least for history purpose. 

We are talking about the gaming experience. With the features announced and the info we have i can surely say this game is no "TES game".  Just another generic crap mmo, it might turn out a good game, but its aimed to be a generic crap.

Terrible video, has nothing to do with TESO and has no value in it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but this guy has a freaking terrible one, he can't even communicate properly. Talking about what is and what's not. 

The game is bad, the shooting is awkward, the graphics are kinda washed. Not fun enough to play actually. 

If you own a ps3 and want a good shooter there are better options. I can't see why anyone would play Dust instead of Battlefield 3 or Killzone 3, unless you are a EVE player who will earn something through it. 

B2P, thats what TES fans are used to. 

Thats the trend and the only way for the game to have a healthy community since release. 

P2P is not possible anymore, unless you are a indie developers catering a niche.  

Mainstream market is long past P2P, if you don't think so, look at the last major releases, what payment model are they using ?
