There are different types of PVP, you cannot compare what you have played in BETA to the real game.  And since the game has not even officially launched IMHO your presumptions are premature.  I am sure that there will be a patch changing/upgrading the pvp system.  On a side note, there is no such thing as true FFA PVP.  Too many people complain so in essence there will always be a fundemental rule set to follow.  PVP in AOC is geared towards capturing keeps in the BK area and building/maintaining your city, if you want instanced pvp with no point try WoW.  But in the end I think AOC and Warhammer will have the best pvp concepts going forward for a while to come.

I have Early Access, I started playing 10pm saturday night (the game is amazing).  You can start setting up your account if you have pre-ordered the game, and the company you purchased it from has given you a access key for the online regisration.  If you purchased the 5 dollars early access fee you could have started playing saturday night if not (since they were limited) you cannot start playing untill tommorow on Tuesday at 9 am i think?  They accept all major credit cards for subscription methods.

I was hoping to get on after work at 8PM, this kinda sucks.  I hope they are back up by 10 or sooner myself, I want to try out all the classes or as many as I can untill the game releases.

It's about world being instanced. Now I read in another post 100 ppl per instance. I couldn't tell if they were referring to the -well known- by now 48v48 sieges instance or in every "zone" in the world.

That is what my comment on mionr flaws is talking about.... I hate how AoC is intances, I HATE instances but so far its not that bad, yes the newbie island is horriable but it gets way better.

 

The other thing is the finishing moves for each class are sweet the first few times after that they get old and boring, too bad we cannot buy new finishing moves.

Post it in the official forums and see if they will allow us to buy new finishing moves.  From what I understand certain combo's give certain Fatalities, so its possible for you to see a completely new one at a higher level when you get a new rank.

First of all I am in EA and my friend has OB, the games are different.  Second loading screens every 2-3 steps? that is ludicrous nothing of the sort.  When there are loading screens it takes max what ? 5 seconds? Big deal?  I have played wow since it was released, and AOC is actually a better game on all points so far.  You dont like AOC? thats fine but dont bash it because your addicted to WoW.  Ill be seeing your future thread where you admit your MMO addiction leave your job and your sig other, and claim how it ruined your life.

what level are you?

Is leveling really easy?

 I have not chosen a main class to play yet, so far I have been playing my characters to level 10 to get a feel for what they are going to be like at higher levels,

Leveling initially wont be easy because you have to get used to the combat system which takes about 2-3 hours to really get the hang of it, (its wicked fun though)

Im not worried about endgame since im not level 70, and besides if there are any concerns or problems Im sure a patch will be introduced.  So far Ive played a Dark Templar, Herald , Demo and Necro.  .  I am currently working on a ranger to see how they fair (again low levels)

Good news is, so far there is no chuck norris jokes.  The good news about the community is, most people that ive grouped with and played with so far are between the ages of 20-50, but that is so far.  The game hasnt publicaly released so who knows, some parents may go buy it for their kids (which i disagree with).  The in game community is very helpfull and the only arguements that I saw come up was which video card is better, but that was quickly put to rest.  This is ofcourse my experiance from the server I play on PVE SET.  Oh and BTW the game itself is amazing, havent hit 20+ yet but have heard great things from in game players that are higher level.

Potbs was also an imba game wasnt it? anyone with common sense knows that potbs was crap...aoc isnt total crap..but its far from a real mmo...you will see that when you get to 80...some will just quit, some will go back to the previous games..most ppl will just wait for the next MassiveMorpg..because aoc isnt one...its a good game..but its not an MMORPG.

Primary features in an MMORPG are

-A Massive world, massive zones ( aoc has neither )

-No loadings in every zone and door ( aoc has loadings everywere)

-No instancing of zones ( aoc uses instancing of zones when a few more people join a zone, and thats not massive)

It doesnt work that way,  When you siege or Raid its instanced locked to whoever is invited by the raiding guild or defending guild.  No one can just randomly jump in.  If you read the official posts, it clearly states that the guild has to apply for siege using guild points that accrue. Once that gets completed they have to wait untill the city is vulnrable (certain time frame applies, i think 3 days).  So easy answer is no noob can join in unless they are invited to by the leaders in charge of the raids or defense of that city. 

*edit* However that doesnt mean you have to be in a guild to raid or defend, you can sell your services as a merc and the guild can hire you as a defender or raider for a specific battle.  Funcom stated that there is a starting amount that the guild has to offer at the very least, so as to not cheapen the required amount to be hired.

Limited NPC is def a possibility.  If I remember the lore correctly from AOC though, the cities werent exactly populated that much and some of them were even run down.  Keep in mind the game has not officially launched yet so im sure there is def going to be future patching fixing things.  The game 1-20 is ALOT of fun however and I have heard people 20+ enjoying their time quite a bit.  So as long as the game is interesting to play and the siege and player cities are what they said it would be, im good for several years here.

I stopped playing MMO's about 2 months before AOC came out, I was originally on WoW but was getting sick of the gear grind, and when I found out that the expansion goes to 80 I was like GREAT all the stuff I worked hard to get is officially useless.  But I got in EA on AOC, and the game is alot of fun, the zoning im already used to because I played EQ and I liked their method of tunnel zoning.  WoW was very annoying because you would go down a path and sometimes run into an invisible wall.  And lets face it, wow graphics arent that good.

Im sorry TIdus, but the players that are left on the FF servers are all vets of the game now.  There are few and far between noobs left to that game.  Its mostly now a die hard small community that play it, ultimately because the MMO in itself was done so poorly by Square.  The characters anc concepts are there, but poor execution.  I recommend WoW for noob MMO players, easy to learn and fun to play with friends

I would really like more information about AION Towers of Eternity actually.  It looks like FF online the way it was supposed to be done.
