I dont think thats fair to say honestly. I mean you are entitled to your own opinions thats fine. But because certain people have problems and want to play from 70-80 fast or get from 55-58 fast does that mean the game is bad?   WoW has made it easier to level to which I thank them for.  Lets face it people have alts on their accounts and other accounts because they ran out of room on their main account.  The only thing I can possible blame wow for in this new expansion so far...is that I was hoping for at least 2 hero classes and wanted around 4.

My main point is, you cannot blame wow for certain players playstyles or habbits. Play the game at your own pace and try to enjoy it. I can gurantee you the people that are already 80 or have explored all the content need to not only get a life, but I dont think they even read the quests, finished all the quests or even have all the professions down pact.

Anyway...if you judge a game just based on some sick kids then thats your problem not ours. Besides I would take my time with this expansion if I were them, or they are going to get bored fast and start waiting for the new expansion.

A little bit of both would be sweet too. I guess what Im asking is will this game offer a challenge while lvling that will require help a lot? Im just getting sick of all the easy dull WoW clones....../cry

I have to agree the most fun ive had in an MMORPG was in EQ ,1 when you basically had to group in order to level. Very few classes in tha game could solo unless you had very good gear.  And that was near impossible for a very long time. I hope that MMORPG's slowly go back to the you are requierd to group to level system.  However I dont think Aion will go in that direction.  Aion seems to be more like a Final fantasy in a WoW type enviroment. Which is a good thing considering WoW has some great art design, and im excited that they are taking the character art style from FF type art. Overall it should be a beutiful game, and I am hoping its gonig to be WoW/WAR/FF in one game.

Now imagine a smaller version of these amphibious creatures with the appropriate and oh so cute gurgle talk.

I'd post a picture, but it wouldn't do them cute lil guys any justice as you have to hear them in their playful antics.

I like stuffed animals and little dragons to collect, I think I would def pick up a plush baby murloc if they ahd them in the store.

Well I was skeptical originally with the expansion, however I got to play it for 3 hours last night.

I made myself a Death knight, yes I know everyone wanted to make one...but none of the classes with classic wow really enthralled me.  I have got to say.... the DK starting area was alot of fun and the story behind it was amazing as well...kudos to blizzard for putting that together nicely.  I also have to say the DK class is ALOT OF FUN, especially just starting out...the talents make them a great class to pick up for raids and fast instance runs. Overall so far I am very impressed with the expansion, I will hold off on my final decision on whether it was a success after my DK hits 80. But so far big kudos to Blizz.

Hey Everyone,

I picked up my WOTLK this morning and am looking forward to going through some of the new zones and what not. I have not at the moment had a chance to get on *CRY* work and the family comes first.  If anyone has had the opportunity to brave Northrend please leave your impressions of the new class and the new zones here for everyone to discuss.

All im saying is, have the gear there to be available for PVE and PVP thats cool. But dont force us to have specific gear to enjoy the end game. I think that is too much hand holding and it I can start seeing the LFG channels.

"king raid LFM you must have your Soverign gear set for an invite, you will be character searched priar to invite"

Yeah, gee that defeates the whole purpose of having the pvp experiance to capture the place, and then the rejection because you dont have a set gear that gives you ward, but you have other gear that gives you the same stats. heh

Thats probably the easy way if you can get regular groups going. Same time, tho, you can get the pvp gear that drops from t4 pvp (players/keep sieges/etc) with silghtly different stats but same wards for the end game content. Problem is that getting the part from RvR currently is very tiem consuming considering you have 1:x chance where x is number of people attacking the keep to get the bag with the part.  And the highest tier sets come only from city sieges which are RvR.

Is it good? For majority yes. Not everyone wants to do only PvP but everyone wants to have a chance to participate in end game. The issue is drop rates of items in PvP and 'some' itemisation issues. Hoping it will get fixed around 1.1.

So what your saying, is that I will be able to pvp and get the exact same sets, rather then being forced to PVE to get them? If thats the case then I can live with that. As long as Mythic doesnt force me to PVE grind in order to survive a capital city siege. Is what I am saying here basically what your saying?

The sets only affect the PvE Encounter bosses like Lords the Kings...the Wards only affect THOSE encounters they are the only things that make the Sets worth Grinding for if you want to take those targest.

If your mainly going to PvP the one thing that makes those sets worth grinding for won't even apply.  Essentially its a stat that turns itself off when your not fighting the boss its created for.   If you dont watn to PvE and you dont want the advantage over the King / Keep Lords at T4 then dont' do the PvE its that simple.

The loot rate drops in WAR are pretty high compared to most games why there's a big waah over this is kinda confusing.

Im sorry, I consider keep lords and kings a pvp encounter not pve, only because its within a pvp objective. I refuse to be forced to do a PVE instance or PQ just to get a set so I can have an encounter with a king. I understand other games do this like WoW for example...however in like those other games you arent required to have a full set to survive an encounter. Usually you can find gear that is on the same level in different methods thats equivelant. Mythic is basically telling me that I need this set just for a stupid WARD ability so I can stay alive long enough to enjoy the ultimate end game experiance. Does no one else see a problem with this?

Before WAR even released they said you can play WAR anyway you want but the best way to play it is by mixing both RvR and PvE together.

This is true for leveling and getting the best items.

You knew this, I knew this.... enough already

Metelhead I understand that, and I /agree 100% with what your saying, I just have a problem when I am REQUIRED to have certain gear just to pvp in the end game for capital city sieges. I didnt know that a RVR focused game was going to FORCE me into grinding PVE drops to be able to participate in a city siege. I read just fine before buying the game, maybe you should read my issue before posting?

No you don't, and I think that the OP misread the article in his own link.  If you read about the encounters effected by each of the armor sets listed, they are dungeons and PQs, not PvP.

I think i read the article pretty clearly. I got this game to pvp, not to pve. If I have to grind PVE instances and PQ's in order to stay competetive in a PVP driven game, then that for me is an epic fail. beleive me people i love this game and the playstyle/gameplay/content. But I dont agree with this formula for the rewards. You should not have to get the best gear to sack a capital city, ever. the article says the sets are "required" for those certain parts.

Hello Everyone,

Gestalt recently posted a forum link, within that link was this link

http://www.warherald.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=397

I would like to open a discussion about this, and see what people think.  I know for a fact if Mythic forces me to PVE grind just so I can play in RVR, then they will loose my sub. I want to play war for RVR and sieging. However I dont feel I should be forced to get a thousand and 1 different armor sets just to be able to pvp.

Please post your opinions about this, and try to keep the flaming down.

*edit* i forgot to add (other) please post your response if the poll doesnt reflect a plausable answer.

Does anyone know if the gear is required to be apart of the raid? Because I am not going to get to 40 just to gear grind pve, if thats what this is saying then im going to go back to WoW.

Apparently most of the bosses that require "ward" items do like 4k damage aoe to everyone.  Which would kill most tanks in 2.5 hits.

Supposedly some of the first tier can be gotten from renown merchants but the grab bag makes it sound like the next two tiers are PvE PQ grinds in a taken enemy city  to get each piece.

Well I need this to be confirmed with proof. No offense Gestalt. I really do like WAR but I will not play WAR for RVR and be forced to PVE grind to get armor sets so i can PVP. Sorry thats not what I thought WAR was all about. Either they fix this, or they loose a sub. no discussion to be had here.

Earlier this week, I attempted to log on and got some message about my password not working after I was already logged in. I saw that servers were down and attributed that to my problem.

The next day, I logged in again and now receive a message "You are already logged into a server" when I try to log onto any server. I read that this could be caused by the login server being down but I tried multiple times over 2 days with no luck.

Has anyone run into this and gotten it resolved? I can still play other MMOs and my internet connection is working so I do not think the problem is related to my connection.

I had this same problem last friday to say i was pissed is an understatement. I called EA support and they fixed it.  It is caused when you log out incorrectly and the game thinks your still logged on.  There are a number of ways to fix this aparantly. I havent tried anything like the other posters above but calling EA support, they were able to reset me and said they are working on fixing it.

For example, my fave is Swordmaster - a tank who can specialize in the path of Hoeth which is all about AoE spells (centered at himself ofc) and debuffing.

A good jack of all trades is Dwarven Engineer - decent ranged DPS, turrets, mines, bombs and master crowd control - ultimate utility class.. Though he can be pretty weak when soloing.

However if you're looking for survivability, adaptability (in basic roles) and playing solo then WP (Dok) or AM (GS) may be your best bets... though they do not add such awesome utility like Engineers or even Shadow Warriors.

The best utility classes in the game I would have to say is a Magus or an Engineer, i personally prefer the Engineer they are  a ton o fun to play. Shadow Warrior, I would only reccomend to those who are more advanced players. They arent the easiest class to play correctly because it constantly requires you to change stances to be very useful.

In general I prefer the "Jack of all trades, master of none" type job. I like to do both magic and melee. A good example would be Red Mage (from FFXI). The career would ideally be good at both soloing and partying. Just to make it clear I'm not looking for a class that is amazing at everything, but rather proficient at everything.

-Woozles-

There is no equivilant to a Red Mage in Warhammer. or a Druid type class from WoW, however there are 4 classes that come pretty close.

Deciple of Khaine: (DPS orientated, front lines healer (Destruction))

Warrior Priest: (Defensive orientated, frotn lines healer (Order))

Shaman: (Ranged DPS/ Support Healer (Destruction))

Arch-Mage: (Ranged DPS/ Support Healer (Order))
