I dont bash AOC cuz I'm bored. While I'd love to play a game like Darkfall, I feel you'd have to be incredibly close minded to not have some concerns on how the whole DF project is going. Just too many red flags not to take notice, but dont get me wrong I AM a DF supporter...

I bash AOC cuz it sucks. More same ol same ol kiddie ezmode stuff. Doesnt anyone want to play a game where it takes skill to be good? and not just time spent?? This generation is so weak and watered down it's sad. It's not even just mmo's ALL games are made to be beaten. I remember a mere 2 decades ago when games when TOUGH and beating them an accomplishment. Now if you can press A you can beat the game. This just carries over into the mmo world where every game, WOW, AOC, WAR, are made for the moronic masses who just wanna be UBER and not work for it

Darkfall promises something else, a challenge, a call to those who wish to truly test thier gaming skill.

Sorry I found this funny. Some genius thought Funcom was talkin smack about Darkfall when he mentioned Dreamfall, then realized Funcom has a game called Dreamfall

i have seen the DF movies and screen shots...and they are plenty good enough for the present day and future.  why do people fear this game so much.

I do agree, however, that graphics do not need to be 'realistic' to be good. WoW is proof of that.

Personally I think DF's graphics are ok. Nothing special, but not terrible. The game has other more serious issues to deal with... like actually starting a public closed beta... or even showing the game to mainstream media. You know, little stuff like actually having a game.

MANY people did not stop playing games like 
UO and eq1 due to games with better graphics emerging. They stopped because the game's gameplay changed. If you didnt change thier pvp to consensual and the whole trammel thing, I would still be playing UO. Even with the crap they turned UO it still beats the off of all these clone games including WOW, WAR and AOC

Try dransik, horrible HORRIBLE graphics, MUCH better then any of these new games.

 

Sadly for you (and the very few Luddite gamers out there like you) the free market is determined by the majority of consumers and clearly most players want and expect the visual quality of their games to improve over time. In one sense you're lucky, since playing old games with dated graphics is an extremely cost-effective form of entertainment as most of them are free or cost next to nothing these days... kind of like someone with a low alcohol tolerance who can have a 'big night' on half a beer.

Clearly the reason there's no dev diary again has less to do with them being "so busy polishing they didn't have time" and more to do with the fact that, if there's even anyone left in that ghost ship, they're all playing in the Conan beta and can't bear to look at their low-poly garbage any more. Who can blame them?

UO (pre:trammel) in my opinion beats AC1

Who cares about sites and journals. WOW, AOC and WAR have nice sites and journals and such on and are ANY of those games not ezmode, no skill required, winner decided by time-invested, meaningless pvp with no true risk vs reward  beginner level mmos???  NO

Well that's not what you said.  You say no one loses money from Darkfall if it's not released.  Well people do lose money, so I could care less if they have the freedom to donate, they still are giving money.

It's not like Darkfall is saying "please! don't give us money!!"

 well and you should know that donations never  count as loss.

Im not here to support DF, my feelings are mixed on DF, though if ti comes out with half of whats promised itll be worlds ahead of WAR and AOC

However, cmon, AOC? That game is garbage. Id rather wait 20 years for a game like DF then play that kiddie stuff

Lol Ill pass, after playing beta I already know how bad this game is gonna be. Invisible walls? Harldy an MMO.. Pointless pvp. Not based on player skill but time spent playing. Dont we already have 40485045 of these games? Nice music though......

What really sucks is Darkfall is the only hope for a good MMO out there. Also seems to be the game whose future is most uncertain. All we have is the same old ezmode games like WAR and AOC that require minimal skill and all gear or level based crap to make the kiddies who lack skill feel good at games.

Why couldnt they be the vapors? I must ponder on this.....

I thought they were going for beta by the end of this year, yet they are still in alpha state? 

Also, I do agree.  Mostly just the basic information is given in alpha state.  Then again, after 5 years, it is important to inform fans.

As good as darkfall looks, they have a point. Seems to me they could.. with minimal effort, destory all the naysayers claims and add tons of free marketing..... why wont they??

Why do anything with DF naysayers? Who cares?Every game has trolls, why care about these ones. They openly admit they come here for amusement. So there admitting that thier lives are SO boring and uneventful that coming to a game forum to troll entertains them. I say if anything just pity them and move on.

Btw played AOC and WAR beta's just more carebear junk for mindless kids who like to play there games on easy mode
