Originally posted by grimal If you want to compare by xfire numbers, compare it to other MMO's. Compared to other MMO's GW2 has been pretty steady, holding anywhere between 55% and 45% of MMO play hours. Comparing single MMO numbers you'll see same sort of variance in every game due weekends, holidays etc. Aaand play hours are just play hours, player counts matter more. And XFire pretty much sucks. Yeah. |

GW2: 1st game to use "hard & soft wood" to craft things?

If you stick your soft wood in mystic forge do you get hard wood?

That was... odd. As artsy as it might or might not have been I still wonder why ANet did trailer like that. Artsiness propably is not best way to sell stuff. |

Gamespy review based on 80 levels, 116+ hrs, 4.5 / 5
Reviews & Impressions « Guild Wars 2 9/10/12 7:34:24 AM
Even if you stop there 120 hours of entertainment for 50e is not bad at all. Can't say many other games have given that much value to me. Overall all pretty decent review. Personally I don't plan on stopping whenever I get to that point.. :) |

I am the casual player, with nothing to play. :(

Originally posted by Dewm When do you consider your game to be finished? It's pretty vague term when it comes to MMO's. I can't speak for RIFT but I do know thing or two about GW2 and it offers something to do for months even after hitting the level cap. Now if you like doing those is whole another thing. |

Originally posted by delete5230 Just did it last night 1) Our group had people between 30 and 58 so yea, 33 is fine. You'll be downleveled to 30 anyway. 2) We did it with 4 so it is doable with less. 3) 30 is recommended so I wouldn't stray much from that. 4) Yell LFG message in charr starter zone. Usually plenty of people looking for groups. 5) Ask them? :) 6) You might die a few times. It is really different experience from other MMO dungeons I've done. 7) Not really, but specs should include plenty of AoE buffs and stuff like that |

Simple answer: Go play something else. If you feel there is nothing more to do why play the game? For some reason MMORPG's are a genre that must be played for years and yeeears and yeeeeeears. I never really got that. I've been playing since headstart and I'm only level 38. I'll be playing for months, maybe even years. I haven't enjoyed any game this much in a long time, or any MMO ever. But when I start feeling like I am not enjoying playing anymore I'll stop. No need to force yourself to play anymore just because it is an MMO, that is the beauty of B2P model. The game itself offers those things that you can do at level 80, for example get a legendary weapon. That will take a nice chunk of time for anyone. But if any of those activities is not your thing there is no need to force yourself to play. Hopefully you had a good time, got yours moneysworth and might return to check out some content updates later on! :) |

I can't find the source but I remember reading that mobs above your level (orveterans/champions) have increased chance of dropping better loot like rare stuff and dyes.

At level 20 most of the basic things are there. Events get bigger and more meaningfull, story starts to go epic etc but all the game basics are there at level 20.

Extremely Amusing - Fans of the Combat System
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/07/12 2:55:24 AM
I like it. It's fun and there is depth to keep me entertained. When comparing to your usual MMO combat it's heads and shoulders above others. TERA is there too, but the game did not work for me in any other way. Of course there are games there that require more 'skill' or whatever. But in MMO genre I've yet to find as fun and engaging combat system as GW2. Should I even bother tagging this post with big IT'S MY OPINION - tag? :) |

Originally posted by Kanubis I think this nails my experience. For me it has been 3 stages: 1) Wow this is all cool and all these skills and moving and stuff, awesome! 2) Hmm, I'm 15 levels in the game now, got most of my skills unlocked and seem to be going through same tactics all the time... Is this what I am going to get for the next 60 levels? 3) Ohhh, I'm level 30 now. There is actually lots of depth here. Respect. |

Originally posted by SnarlingWolf You propably know this put still putting it out there: The cash shop is purely optinal, there is nothing you actually find expect cosmetics and bunch of boosters (which you can get as drops too). Anything in the cash shop can be bought with in game gold aswell, the exchange rate is quite reasonable aswell. I just bought a bigger bank space, some dyes and 2 extra bag slots and did not use a single real dollah to do so. I respect your principle, just wanted to point out that cash shop is more there for those that want to support ArenaNet. Aaaand back to the topic now. :) |
