We run the same hours, have no requirements -- just a laid back, no-drama guild. If you're interested, please feel free to apply at our website. You can also contact me (Aywren.5438) in game or any of our recruiters, when they're online. Hope to hear from you!

Originally posted by Benedikt Whoops -- sorry about that. I can see where my post could be mis-read (just edited it). Yes, you're right that the information above deals with adventure rating. I just wanted to throw that in there even though the question was about crafting, in case someone wandered by and wondered about multiclassing an adventurer. Thanks for pointing that out! :) |

Istaria multiclassing assigns a rating which is shared between all adventure classes and all crafting classes (adventure has a raiting and crafting has a rating). So the levels you make in one class does carry over and effect other classes when you switch. It's somewhat hard to explain, but this is what the Wiki site says about Adventure Ratings: Your adventure rating (or "Rating" in-game) is a number between 0 and 267 (the maximum currently possible). It is important because the amount of experience you earn is based on your Adventure Rating, so as you gain in levels (and presumably in power) you need to find more powerful creatures to defeat. This applies in particular to players who like to multi-class their characters. Adventure rating is derived by the following formula: The square root of the sum of your current adventurer level to the power of two plus every other of your adventure levels divided by two to the power of two. For example, a current level 10 Ranger has 20 Cleric and 30 Warrior levels. The rating is therefore: Square root of (10 ranger levels^2 + (20 cleric levels/2)^2 + (30 Warrior levels/2)^2) = 20.62.
So while it is very possible to multi-class without limits, it becomes more challenging to do so the more classes you master. Hope that makes sense! |

Best Community Game Ever
General Discussion « Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted 7/05/10 12:53:41 PM
Believe it or not, much of this is true. There is drama, but most of it is interpersonal drama in a role play sense (and there can be quite a bit of drama there at times). Where you have a group of people, you're going to have some drama -- that's a given. But competition when it comes to gameplay, I agree, does not exist. I've seen people of every guild, of any level offer to help others in public channels, within the towns -- sometimes complete strangers out of the blue. For no other reason or reward other than they simply can. Hacks. No. You don't see those. There may be some players left over from a time before who did hack (though developers quickly put a stop to these things long ago)... but those folks got a reputation for their misconduct. In a community like this, what you do does count. If you hack, people WILL know... and I'd hate to see the response from something like that! Members of the community are fiercely protective of their world. And if someone were to hack in this day an age, I'm sure reports would spring up instantly... not many people would abide by this in Istaria. Is it a perfect flowers and butterfly community? No... of course not. No such thing as a perfect MMO Utopia. But it's a helpful and mature community that I'm proud to be a part of. |

No. Each prestige school has certain skill requirements and generally require level 20 before you can switch.
For example, my Paladin required 200 skill in Two Hand Slash, 150 skill in Life. But also level 20 warrior and level 15 cleric. |

As I play a dragon and I'm only starting to learn about bi-ped adventurers, I'll attempt to answer your question the best I can. Firstly, I don't think there is such a thing as a "wrong" build in Istaria. The game is all about experimenting with combinations until you develop a character that plays the way you like them to. Later, if you start leveling a school and you decide you don't want to keep a certain school, there's a quest you can do to completely remove a school from your character. Certain skills you learn in one school may be mastered at particular levels, which means those skills will carry over even when you change your schools. There are weapon and armor requirements for each school, so you may want to check and see what those are. I've linked a page of the Istaria Wiki below that has a list of all the different schools you can play. Those pages will give you more in depth information on each school as well. istaria.wikia.com/wiki/Schools Hope this gives you a starting point. I'm still learning about bi-ped multiclassing, too! :) |

Here we go, I've got a few shots for you below:
An interesting Bi-ped plot that I saw in my travels. Note the snowmen and Christmas trees as holiday decorations. Also note that most people build plots to have a combination of crafting storage (silos), crafting machines and housing (which serves as item storage).
Housing can come in different racial flavors. Below is a Saris setup in the desert... then a Fiend style house... and then human guild houses (which are all used for storage).
Below is a shot of Bristugo on the Chaos server -- basically the portal hub for the game. All the buildings you see around the portals are player made housing. Some of these plots include Pawn Brokers, Consigners, access to your Storage Vault as well as Shrines you can bind to for recall. As you can also see, no two plots are alike (unless you plan them that way). You have full freedom to build and design your bi-ped plot the way you see fit.
You always know when something is in the process of being built... scaffolding is put down in place of potential buildings and you can choose who can help lend a hand in creating and using your structures -- your guild, friends only or the whole Istaria community.
I hope that gives you a better idea of the plot building and bi-ped housing in game! :)
