Correction, there's little to indicate either way... This reminds me of when MMOsite people kept trying to convince everyone Aion would be/might be F2P or B2P.... *roll eyes*

mmosite is an asianize mmo site. most people there are minors and plays only  free2play. so its not a suprise hearing some darnest thing.

but saying aion expansions will be free is believable but then again the fact that they aiming in western style model.. who knows..... however i have high feeling it will be free expansions just like lineage2.

i am 99% sure expansions will be free jus like lineage2 since it is not made by american.  asian mmos method of how expansions work is usually free that adds new stuff to the current game/world where everybody can access and get a hold of.

while american mmos method of expansions is it is individual making people to buy it. those that dont buy cant access the new stuff in the expansion. wow and guild wars are like this. (but i think paying expansion for guild wars is ok since it is not really a mmo like wow)

i like the way asian mmos did.

for me.. paying for expansions in a mmo is a no no. paying for expansions in a single player game is a yes yes.

patch update is not same as expansions. patch updates are usually small fixes and small adds.. while expansions is something big that is being added. every mmo have free patches updates.

codemasters is a euro publisher. RFonline is developed by koreans.

my thought/opinion on RFonline:

to me it is a new and enhanced version of a dead mmo called Gate to Heavens. same sci fi theme with a blend of fantasy and huge weapons.

RFonline art style and everything else is stylish with huge weapons, dwarves and elfs and such. overall art design and visuals are great but the graphic and enviorment landscape are bland, plain and nothingness. the traveling speed, the default run speed, the moving speed ect.. are slow and unbearable.

its jus one of those hundreds koreans grind festival. leveling are slow. do same thing over and over killing mobs ect.. nothing was there.

the game sucked even when it was monthly fee. turned free2play and still suck and deserted with not much players. archlord is similar but guess they keeping it.

codemasters should bring Zera and Infinity.

I'm not saying they are the same, Aion uses CryEngine 1, so it has overall better graphics like detailed shadows, lighting or spell effects. I've checked every Aion screenshot I can find (on this, and on other sites), majority of the screenshots gives me a "Guild Wars" feeling with similar graphics design. Only screens that don't give me that feeling are character close ups and general flying-with-wings thingies.

Anyways, graphics aren't final yet, some of the screenshots has way too much low res textures, and some others have general higher quality than others.

 

Edit: Btw, I'm just compairing with GW because thats one of the titles I played, that's why I'm not compairing it with FFXI or Lineage 2, because i didn't played those.

now that you mention it..  i agree some of the building design is kindda similar to guild wars. the clothing design is also similar to guild wars. but everything else doesnt. the facial and character modeling, shape and figure is totally different.

guild wars character modeling, figure and shape is more cartoony style and funny(good own way) while aion/lineage2 character modeling, figure and shape is more realistic.

lineage2 clothing design is super fantasy with revealing and erotic hotness. how aion is different from lineage2 is aion leans toward western style which has covered up clothing and more realistic clothing while keeping stylish.

why i say it look like final fantasy is that the whole atmosphere and enviorment with giant mushroom and stuff have the sense of final fantasy. why i say it look like lineage2 is the facial, character modeling, shape, figure and overall art look like lineage2 plus it is the same people that made lineage2. why i say it look like wow and other western is that it is a WASD game with content ect.. like wow/western and some clothing is similar to guild wars.

aion is made by the same people that made lineage2 not guild wars.

overall i say aion is a fusion of lineage2 + final fantasy + wow/western

well my personal opinion between everquest 2 and wow i would choose... ever quest 2 but IF! if ever quest 2 ever add sound of impact on default melee attacking. it sound like hitting on wind instead of a monster or object.

i played both trials and short period of time. both never got to lv 13 or 14. to me everquest 2 seems more immersive and alive due to npc got full voice dialogue. yes the character is pretty ugly i,e female dark elf but it is alright playing on the alternative model mode. but the thing i hate is female dwarf got beard! i was like wtf! overall i like the world of ever quest 2.

extreme setting on everquest 2 does look nice if you have a rig that can handle.

i remember when i tried the trial and when in melee combat default attacking.... it dont have sound of impact. it dont have sound of hitting a monster or an object.. it just a sound of hitting wind.

will next expansion fix it? or the game meant to be like that?

Its with voice, or supposed to be.

I recommend to goto where the game is located on your hard drive

Goto Simple config

Then open it up and then

Click Verify / repair

then Ok let that run, and then got back to screen above and click the tick box after verify / repair and let that run too.

Once loaded up in game you can bring up the audio options menu and have a look in there.

Are you listening thru headphones? or speakers? check the connections out with them too.

actually my trial was end but im greatful for the help. a great refference.. maybe when somehow i get my hands on it again ill try out this method.

guild wars was made by an american developer. aion is made by a korean developer aka the same people that made lineage 2. all 3 titles are published by the same company exept 1 is made by an american studio and the other 2 is made by a korean studio aka the main ncsoft korea.

aion/lineage2 = korean people

guild wars = american people

all in same publisher/company

its easy for me to tell asian artwork from western artwork. i dont think guild wars art look like aion art at all.

if you tried the trial and at the beginning when you are found in the shore and a man come help you... do he have voice? or just text? if just text then plz let me know.

guild wars? how you get that? guild wars artwork doesnt look like this. guild wars gameplay is all instance and not like this.

well heres my opinion.... lineage 2 meets final fantasy with a grain of wow

i met a 65 year old person in archlord. she even show me picture of herself and niece.

im 24 and growing out of mmos.... or even any games but hope aion and blade & soul will make me interest again.
 

does it have pvp? and why does every custom characters look like dwarf?

this game got great combat idea and looks fast and fun right away but the graphic and overall visuals look damn outdated for year 2008+

i want to see the extreme super max out graphic setting on this game to see if it helps and justify and to make it acceptable for my eyes and compensate it or not. want to see it on:

- opteron 8360 barcelona

- 16gb ram ddr3 4x 4gb

- two 4870  x2 (personally think nvidia more quality but ati better image)

- vista 64bit

- 30" NEC LCD monitor

i would play tabula rasa if they have npc voice like everquest 2/titan quest and female character more revealing clothing with some long hair.

i was wondering if guild wars or dea dor not too.

i recently purchsed factions about less than 30 days ago. i cant really get into it. i dont even know how to play. i play role play...... didnt finish it. i play pvp.... i jus run up to a group of oposing force and start to whack them... 5sec later... droped on ground.... revived.... 5sec later droped on ground...

i dont know how to play guild wars.

someone complained about having nude mobs to whack on????? anyway what level is the few nude mobs that is left? i want to whack them with my swifting stick.

what is the release date for dx10 age of conan?

im not an xbox fan.... but say if i get a 360 controller jus to play age of conan... if i plug it and bam! everything preset for me? like buttons ect.. ? cause i hate to go through buttons on 3rd party gamepad setup ect..

my left hands and finger gets tired tapping 123 non stop rapidly. is there a way around this?
