Amazzing number of new CHEAP players. If only such people that want all for free would exist no game would be I guess ever created, for sure not mmo. But as usually there is always price to pay, sooner or later. As DCUO is PURE CONSOLE BUTTON MASHER guess will never return back ... but never say naver in gaming. :-)

Wow ... guess this sentences from OP clarify what I was always after and I agree 1000%:

Said this I really hate 1st person games and do not like (animore) driving, but this is not problem with mmorpg world. :-)

Lover Rift and will return guess after sub to Wow ends. Actually this two for now are all I need for my gaming needs while waiting for next expansion(s). But as altholic is true, I find much more work for me in wow as you must choose at start one of 10 classes, while here are actually 4, despite every1 of them compensate  more then this as have different builts within. The main reason I still prefer wow is also that I simply love fantasy games and wow is pure fantasy, Rift is much more about realism. As for quality ... never seen better launch as of Rift.

As I remember when I have purchased and played game at start, that was fun thing, but essentially just big CONSOLE button masher on PC, like running some console emulation for PC. If I would like to play console game, well will switch to my PS2 or but new console ... but when I buy game for PC all I want is to play games in PC STYLE! So I'm not even remotely tempted to try again as I'm pretty positive about they have not redesigned from scratch UI suited for PC world.

What to say other then love, love, love, ... at my 50 years. :-) Anyway ... who fears this will attract more small children. Nope. In effect ... will keep them away. Children do not play "childish" games as they are mocked by friends, they want "bloody" games. :-) So barely can wait for expansion to be able to play.

Momentarely I'm back to wow now, but Rift is my 2nd game in charge. All the rest lags very far behind. Among them once per year I enjoy a lot CO for two or three months.

It's actually the other way around. Children don't want to engage in activities which are, or can be perceived as childish activities because their friends may make fun of them for playing a kid's game. Children want to seem older and more mature than they are, so they play bloody, violent games.

Adults (or at least, mature adults) play what's fun and don't give a damn what other people think.

Do you go into Age of Conan and find yourself surrounded by mature, responsible adults? Of course not; you see a bunch of thin skinned down syndrome babies playing topless female characters.

50 here and love idea as said. And they are not more silly then  gnomes or goblins. Wow is fantasy world. And if in Cata some area looked like being in Nile delta who cares?

I can only repeat what I think: I LOVE IDEA OF EXPANSION! Period. Barely can wait for release and to be able to play (kung-fu :-)) panda monk. About so much hate .... well is know fact, that haters (and fanboys) are very VOCAL, but they DO NOT rapresent (or at least I hope) majority of 11 millions of players that are paying subs.

Anyways, whilst I was glad they simplified the talents in Cata (IE cut the fat), the fact you were now locked into a tree (untill the last few points at least), was a major gimp to variety. I would rather MORE choices, not less! With only 3 trees to choose from as it is (and God bless Rift for multiple choice!), every char that picked say a destro Lock, was pretty much the same as every destro Lock out there.

Please, don't make the system even more Fisher-Price! Give us more options, not LESS. Lets have some variety in classes and chars.

Or, have new talent trees? How about a 4th for each class? A Mage with an earth based talent, create a mini earthquake, have a Golum like pet. Or a rogue have a thief tree, where they can get slightly better loot. A Lock with some real necromancy based powers, a Paladin with real dark powers, a Priest who can wear armour, like a clearic based tree. There are multiple ideas my friends and I have discussed in way more detail over the years, but you get my point?

As for any nay-sayers who may argue about lore and cannon, really? That went out the window years ago. And as for the need to balance a new tree? Well, the 3 we currently have have been nerfed and buffed since pre launch, and will continually be so.

 

Agree with you completely on that problem ... no variety ... all fire mages are quall, frost also, ... etc etc. To be honest, loved much more beofore when player was able to chose different talents from any tree since scratch (but for sure some were put on must illogical places immaginable). At least there were different build ... there were fire mage ... and were fire mage. Last overhaoul just eliminated chices and made all totally linear.

About kung-fu ... ops, Pandarians and monks :-) I really love idea and can barely wait to be able to play.

I do not think so. Love, literally idea, and barely can wait to play panda monk. They fit into wow well as elves, orcs, worgens, .... We will see if this will attract more pests... ops, small children :-) into wow. Hope not, 50 here with grown kids. But I'm still more disturbed by adult pcychos or hormone dopped teens in wow then kids.

I just hope they will not ruin Rift. Or hurt any future projects.

LOVE EVERY BIT OF IT! :-) And wow is here to stay on top for loooong time. Only problem now is survive until release. :-) Just kidding, barely can wait for release, but fortunately have so many things to do in life (besides gaming) that this time will come fast.

Honestly there is nothing truly unique here. The quests do have a very martial artist's path to self improvement vibe. But at the end of the day, it was more of the same questing. Kill X amount of this mob or collect Y amount of this resource.  That being said, ..." that being said this is EXACTLY what questing is about, go there, kill that, this, ... use object, .... etc etc.

Regarding so "important" updated "Not to mention the most important change of all, PvP updates! ": COULD NOT CARE LESS! :-) But love all the rest and I'm not sure how to survive until release of expansion. :-)) Well kidding but still barely waiting for release ... in meantime have Rift, will have Swtor (hope) ... and leveling other alts in wow (with all classes maxed out so far).

Rift is lacking, dont try to deny it.  When Archeage, SWTOR, and GW2 come out RIFT will truely be able to see if its just me or the game itself.  My bets are on a decline in population for greener waters due to the lack of depth that Rift has.

Every single game is lacking. If not for me then for somebody else. If game have been built perfect there would be no need to patching, expansions, ... would be all already included.

And if we step on solid ground: Rift is great game, imo, best after Wow. But I can not object that original Pacman is still for somebody best game ever.
