The Elder Scrolls Online: What the Elder Scrolls Online Means for MMORPGs
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/04/12 1:46:27 AM
ES, any version, was to me always boring world of nothing. Every few hours some beast. No matter level all mobs equaly hard/easy. Same fighting rat or dragon. Even for that time mechanics of movement of characters .... just bad, like all have ate wooden stick for dinner. Etc. Despite every version was new disappointment, I have keept up with trying new ones. Had enough with Oblivion. Hopefully mmo version would be good, I'm still willing to try. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Should SWTOR Go Free-to-Play?
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/03/12 5:31:20 AM
I have also noted another trend. Better game is, more haters will attract. They are attracted to successful games (cake) like like flyes to crap. So this is in some way positive sign and reason more to try and play swtor. :-)

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Should SWTOR Go Free-to-Play?
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/03/12 5:28:46 AM
And what have all this to do with F2P model? I would sub and pay monthly fee without any problem for i.e. Mass Effect. If this would mean adding constantly new content, improving it, .... I do not play wow, rift, swtor, ... or for that matter have played war, aoc, .... for other PLAYERS. I play and pay for MYSELF. Only factor that counts for me is FUN. In case of swtor which is for me now best and most fun game of all times, I'm still not at end game as I'm altholic and leveling 12 alts (8 republic, 4 empire). So I can not comment for end game or pvp (to which I care as much as for last year snow). But for all the rest is awesome. Being sw fan since first movie helps, but it is not only reason. Game is fast paced, every spell have its use (no just blind button mashing), bugs are at very minimum, they respond to complains from players impressively fast, ... And what I have hard time now to return for short to try my old mmos, movement of characters (running, fighting, ... all) is so realistic, that all the rest now look close to crap. So, F2P .... be gone. |

Stupid is who stupid does. Swtor should NEVER become F2P. Same goes for Wow and Rift. For the rest mainly I do not care at all.

World of Warcraft: Putting the War Back in Warcraft - Part 2
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/02/12 10:49:03 AM
1 month before release of Swtor I have not seen single video regarding, have not been following at all ... somehow had impression will be disaster like Star Trek. But now Swtor is my best game ever and I can say it took throne over Wow. But wow is stil very close to throne. And my 3rd love for now is Rift. I can barely wait for any expansion of any of this three.

Agree on this with you, but swtor is too god to make me go away for this. :-)) Sure no problem with i.e. Aion. :-) |

I agree on prohibitive high costs (being altholic) but regarding "The problem was that BioWare defined these most valued or loyal subscribers as players that had level 50 characters, dividing the community into the haves and have-nots." is enough carefully to read. It was either 50 lv ***OR*** lv. 6 legacy. And that last is pretty easy to obtain, no matter if playing alts or only 1 char ... IF you have REALLY been playing since start or so this should NOT be problem. So far, despite minor annoyances, game is great, best and fluid ever. Only that can compare are Rift and nowadays Wow.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Erickson Denies Declining Sub Numbers
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/25/12 3:41:41 AM
I can only repeat Swtor is best game ever for me. Sure, ads to this im sw fan since first movie, but I guess I would enjoy this marvel of gaming anyway. And to think I was not following at all development news before release. I was not interested on swtor before. Somehow I had impression will be disappointment like Star Trek. Could not be more wrong. Shortly before release decided I will buy, playing since day 1 and having a blast day after day, time permitting. Could be I have time for 1 hour per day or up to 18 hours per day on weekends if no other schedule. But is funny thing how fast haters community is building, even faster when with wow. Some people just seek always only bad in anything and they are happy with anything that fail. Guess psychiatrists are pretty expensive. :-)

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Subscriptions Declining Says Analyst
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/24/12 2:33:53 PM
Well mmorpg market is small compared to games that play in single mode. So I do not see this as a problem. Ok, can be fun playing with other people (and it is necessity for end game), but many times can be frustrating and very time consuming with a lot commitment. I play a lot of time but can not commit myself to plan 2 weeks ahead and then stay 6 hours in any raid. I have so far 3 lv. 50 and leveling another 5 all above 35 now and having a blast with game. Swtor is so complete package that I would have no problem at all buy and play and even sub if totaly single player. I will start experiencing end game after all my alts are maxed out. Ops, when all CLASS quests are finished. Yep, this is first game when I have not stopped to play when reaching max level. I can barely wait to see what they have combined for end. |

I can assure I'm not among them. Playing since release day and plan to stay in for at least as until summer. Then guess will be time for short detour. Im very picky about games and so far swtor is best ever. Never thought possible some game could replace wow in my heart. Followed by Rift on 3rd place. Swtor is incredibly fun, great sw feeling, small number of bugs, every move, every mouse click, every button on keyboard does exactly what should and that is rare. I can not stress enough how much I love this game. Being big SW fun only ads to this. Main problem are - and not only for swtor - players that only rush to end game. Instead of enjoying months of tour they rush for last station. Silly, but so it is. I on the other hand have a blast leveling all possible combinations of clasess, doing same quests many times, they are still always fun. I can also ad in wow I have 10 lv. 85, 2 in Rift, 3 so far in Swtor. In no other mmorgp (or other game) have not even a single maxed out alt. Lost interest long before. Closest was Aoc. |

Hmm... can I ask WHY you play at all any game, sub or free? I guess for FUN. And swtor is INCREDIBLY FUN. I do not care at all for forced group questing/playing. Or beins single player. The ONLY thing that matter for me is being FUN. And from my long experience (im close to 50 now) so far I'm willing to PAY (even double ammount that is now in average) for only three games in the world: Wow, Rift and now SWtor. About grouping, socializing .... I can only suggest ... go out, socialize with real life friends. |

Well ... i'm not among them. As altholic have 8 alts, 2 lv. 50 and bunch of close to ... and is never boring, not even leveling 8th alt. Never, exception are wow and rift, had such blast with playing any game. And particulary I love being solo friendly. Sorry.... but when i want to socialize i have many real life friends. :-) |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: v1.2 Arriving 4/12
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/18/12 3:17:42 AM
Beyond all my expectations. :-)
The only thing I miss now is to have multiple builds. if some class can i.e. heal is nice to have healing build to be usefull for group, but is problem when soloing and questing. Also is possible to test various trees without need to go to skill reset trainer. Would be great to be possible to switch between varous builds. Btw, to dyner, i sincerely hope that putrid f2p plague never come in contact with Swtor (or wow and rift for that matter). This three are only games that are worth and should stay P2P. |

News Discussion « General Discussion 4/11/12 7:34:45 AM
An already incredible, polished, bug free, .... game gets better and better. Ok, there are sure bugs, but nothing serious ever. Well, do not know for pvp or end game, im still not there, but have 2 alts 50 and 6 close to and still having as altholic a blast to level them all. But, hey, sure, I can not expect all will find this game best ever. |

What the heck, I can't enjoy other games after TERA.

Originally posted by rexzshadow I'm not sure you got my point. Trying for last time. I'm from era of CMP, DOS, ... now we have GUI of Windows, Mac, .... Once computers were for hardcore geeks, now are for masses. Are computers for this reason worse? Nope. This can be seen this way only by people not wanting to give up to their DOS. About "hardcore" complainers (not saying you are)... well ... I see them usually (attention, usually) as jobless people, that do not even try to get a job (i used for nearly 2 decades to work from 16 to 20 hours per day), ... or they are "eternal" students which only objective in life is to "study" and take all things on easy. Now back to topic and what did wow to mmo world .... Horses were for hardcore travelers ... but evolution brought us cars and airplanes (=wow). Are horses better and have cars destroyed travel? Nope, they made it better, faster, usable for masses. Makes this cars & co. destroyers of travel? Nope, exactly opposite. But for sure have ruined business to horse sellers. But horse travel is over. Some people just can not accept this. However there will be time when cars do cross line they should not ... and that models go to history. When this happen company tries to repair to error, despite sometimes this error can destroy company. So far wow if still faring good. They just did mistakes with last model Cataclysm, that's all. But for sure no "sound" company would market today car without ac, seatbelts, airbag, .... Wow is simply FUTURE, the STANDARD of mmo world. And does not matter if horse lovers will hate it. |

Originally posted by Volarin You see, company must decide if make happy 100.000 of players over the world (which in this case I guess would include YOU) or make happy 10 milions of players (in this case including ME). What is wrong and what is right is not fact, it is just pure decision of company. You say wow is all that is wrong in mmo, I say wow is all that is good in mmo gaming, best evolution so far. And Blizzard have decided obviusly I'm right. :-) Not all can be pleased. And there are other people that have zillion of different opinions how should mmo look, different from mine but also from yours. Btw do not forget, once people traveled with horses or even walking, today they use cars, trucks, ... Which travel is wrong or right? Horses, like you would still have, or trucks and cars, that pleases me? :-) |

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria: Uncanny Valley or Paradise?
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/03/12 2:57:09 AM
Rift and Swtor are great expamples that one can have very good graphics and can play very very very fluidly on his computer. My computer is not top but not bad either. However Aoc, War, ... were just unplayable on maxed out settings. |
