Star Wars: The Old Republic: EA Investors' Conference Call Reveals Data
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/08/12 4:51:02 AM
Agree with op. Swtor so far is for me one of the sole 3 games that are worth subscribing, swtor, wow and rift. Impressive gameplay, complexity, incredible stability and polishness since day 1, .... and incredible swtor immersion. I have been so far very happy with wow and rift. But I was always looking to find something else to play in between. And for the first time maybe in life after found 3rd member to alternate between, i do not feel at all that urge to try anything else. Swtor, wow and rift will keep me busy I guess for next 10 years with various expansions. .-) Guess for pure fun i will add at some time for month or two also CO. Ah, forgot, speaking from current experience and considering that pvp is last thing in my life I'm interested for my gaming needs. In swtor also i do not do space combat, is not appealing to me. Not because not well done, simply I love to play single avatars. As for end games I also can not say a lot, with my all 8 alts on "good" side im currently beetween level 20 and 34 as I'm altholic. But to be hones end game requires to much organization and time planning I do not have. However I do still play really a lot but through day and when having time. I can not affort to plan 1 week ahead for some raid that will take hours. Imo, there are not so many such players, they are just very vocal. But I could be wrong. As said, after swtor, wow and rift I do not feel for the first time in my life any urge to try always new and new games. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: With Friends Like These
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/08/12 4:44:39 AM
If i need to socialize I have real life friends, I'm in games for fun and spare time. I see guilds only as end game feature. But as organizing guild (so far by my experience 95% of guilds are as good as soloing all) takes a lot of energy and time, impossible coordination of time schedule of various players ..... game that want to be sucessfull and appealing to get a lot of players MUST be SOLO FRIENDLY. No matter what you guild lovers and group play lovers would like to have. Period. Unless in real life somebody manage to make all players or at least great majority to have ALL working/school hours between, let say, 8am and 4pm and staying at home between at least 5pm and 22pm to be able to play "group games" of yours. Then game could count being sucessfull if "group or guild friendly". Period. This are simple facts of life. So far swtor is on throne of all games of all times together with wow. But I still love a lot Rift. The only reason I nearly left wow years back, as i was so frustrated, would be if stayed to much group oriented with to many elite quests. Never ever ever ever In any game would like to spend WEAKS to find group to do that silly guest for fire mount of warlock. Never ever. in second i realize I'm in such game I'm never returning subscriber. I admit the only game heavily relying on guilds and group play can be the one where MAJORITY of members are also REAL LIFE FRIENDS. Otherwise forget about. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Voice Acting Ups and Downs
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/28/12 5:44:04 AM
You are completely ignoring the fact in swtor mobs are usually in groups of 3 to 4, so is at all not same as killing 20 mobs in other games (except CO that have similar mechanics). Here is more like killing 5 mobs in other mmos (where on the other hand one have to kill at least 10 of them, meaning effectively double then in swtor). |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Voice Acting Ups and Downs
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/28/12 5:41:21 AM
I'm very happy with voice acting just as it is. Never boring, incredibly well done, all with "soul" of voice actors, .... only I admit that with 8 alts I'm playing I may be pressing space after have read quest test even if voice acting is not yet over. In general i think will have very hard time to return back to wow and rift that do not have it. Here I feel like being in movie that is influenced by my decisions. Feeling in incredible. For me swtor is best thing happened to (at least) mmo industry. And best fluid release (althrough rift for sure was also a blast and i will return there also for sure). So far for me there are only 3 games in the world worth paying sub: wow, rift and now swtor. |

Champions Online: Latest State of the Game Posted
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/25/12 6:51:17 AM
As usually .. players have very different tastes. Im playing now swtor, then guess will rift, swtor, ... then mists ... maybe will find in middle to go back to co for month or two ... but just hope game will stay soloable up to max level as is now. CO, last played half year back, have improved, is very very fun and intense to play .... but pretty repetitive and after i.e. 2 months I lose my interest to continue. Not happend with wow or rift where I could play without interruptions for half year or year (as altholic have a lot to do :)). |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: New Video Looks to the Future
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/25/12 6:47:05 AM
At the moment I can not talk on Pvp as I could not care less then I actually do on this topic, none of my 8 alts is at max at end game ... but in any other possible sense game really rocks! Can not remember when I had so much fun in long years. And being decades fan of sw series .... I really enjoy every second I'm in game, questing or just wandering around. I feels just so "swish". :-) So far for long years It looks all i will need to cover my gaming needs will be trio wow, rift and now swtor. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Tightening Up the Graphics
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/18/12 8:29:45 AM
To be honest have never compared medium to high .... With every game I immediately go to set effects to max. My computer is 2 years old aprox, when purchased was not top of the top but was good. And I can only say I'm impressed with incredible Star wars(!) feeling and with great graphics and all effects. With smoth combat moves, etc etc. I do not care for effects that normal human eye can not even notice. I'm incredibly happy with what I see when i play. And how I feel. Have been watching first SW movie when was released. And all rest also. Game is impressive. But is true ... who is fan of swtor have only one big reason more to be happy. But I do not think would be disappointed even if I had never watched any sw movie. If I can play all maxed out wow, rift and swtor ... all lag free, bug free .... I will simply not play games that does not fit this criteria. Now of course. 10 years or more ago standards were pretty different, once was "normal" when major and really annoying bugs were fixed i.e. after 2 years. Rift and Swtor have set new standards here. |

World of Warcraft: What is a “WoW Killer?”
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/18/12 8:10:14 AM
Never understood that urge of so many people, to think about anything as "killer" of something else. IMO, they have problem between their ears. So, I really love swtor, but hope it never kills wow as I love also a lot wow. And I also hope nor swtor nor wow kills Rift as I love also a lot Rift. I have been always in search for something fun to play in spare time. Enjoying a lot wow, then rift, ... never prevented me to try all new games. But so far my epic search end with this trio: wow, swtor and rift. And for the first time, and have been playing really a lot, once I got this trio of really superb games .... I finnaly do not feel any strong need for more. For long years to come as it looks all I will need will be this trio with future expansions. As I'm altholic, I will be more then busy even without endgame. |

Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising: Subscription Fees Waived
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/18/12 7:54:53 AM
One of rare games where out of 30 days of free gameplay I have effectively used maybe 2 or 3 hours when i have realized was mistake to spend money (and now time) on this game. I love idea, lore, ... of this game. And that's all what is attractive. 10 years ago maybe however I would be very happy with overall quality. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Innovation in the Old Republic
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/18/12 7:50:48 AM
Hype around “We want something new!” has been created only by VERY VOCAL minority of "never-been-content-in-my-life" gamers. Period. There are many however things, that I do care a lot, playabilty, when every press of button, every move with mouse, .... does exactly what it should, laggless play, bugfree play, good quests (and here really rocks, all voiced, incredibly immersive, ...) .... I like also crafting. So far Swtor is one of the absolutely best gaming experiences of any genre for me and my 50yrs.:-) Very close if not better then wow, then Rift. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Official SWTOR Review
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/07/12 5:55:46 AM
No matter I'm Wow lover with reason to be and I love a lot Rift, this game simply rocks. Playing it only since release in EU, but my list is now 1. WOW, 2. SWTOR, 3.RIFT. Swtor is greatest surprise over last years. About score, if I would give to wow 10, then swtor deserves at least 9.5. About social part and 7.5 ... i could not care less for that. MMO does not mean one have to group play ... I find more fun and challenging to try solo. More planning, more fun. And when I'm in group I have tendency just to run through with rest not following at all what is quest about. And I love to read carefully (at least with first alt) story telling and rest. No problem for gruping however for end game. But I'm the person that enjoys trip and not only final destination. So as long I have alts to play through this awesome game .... I do not care not even minimally about end game. Swtor is incredible game (have all reppublic alts up to 22 only as I'm altholic) and I'm sure is here to stay for loooong. As I hope for wow and Rift. With this 3 I have found my gaming needs are covered for next 10 years at least. :-)) I like to try new games but before Rift and Swtor was always looking for something even close to wow (as for quality of game play, whole game, ....) but now for the first time at my 50 years I'm just looking forward new releases for this trio.
Btw, my opinion above also excludes pvp experience as I could not care less for pvp as I currently do. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Retail Sales Plummet in the UK

I do not care, Swtor is only impressive game, bug free, lag free, ... after Wow and Rift. And is incredibly addictive and fun. |
|

Never undestood that "need" for killer of anything. I just hope Wow, Swtor and Rift will coexists for years to come giving me all a lot of fun. And they have another thing in common, all 3 runs completely smooth on my 2 years old (but pretty good) computer. No other game comes even close. Aoc, War, ... just to mention few lag disasters. Obviously programmers Bioware as of Trion as of Blizzard know their job. |

More game of decade then year. :-) Very close in my eyes to wow, closer that I could ever immagine based on experience of all game releases post wow. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Mind Boggling Stats
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/03/12 6:11:49 AM
Swtor is one hell of the game. Before starting playing it I could never immagine anything else could come even close to my love for wow. Until now. Still I see wow on throne, love it .... but close on right side sits already swtor. And also close on left another masterpice of gaming industry, Rift :-)). Now that I have 3 great games to alternate for the first time probably in decades, I'm not looking forward for any new release of other games. Everything is great, voiced and fun quests where for the first time I actually follow closely what they say and what I will respond. Have not seen a lot of bugs, actually would say one of the most bug free releases so far. Despite all numbers mentioned above, responses from support (not that I needed a lot) are very fast. Impressive number of fun quests. Have seen first movie of Star wars at release, still remember how deeply impressed I was as a kid at that time .... and every minute I play SWTOR have that feeling being actually part of Star wars. But I'm sure even without lore would love it for gameplay and rest. Every movement, every press on keyboard or mouse does exactly what it should. Well ... I'm on vacation now so ... back to play. :-) |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Razer Gaming Mouse Review
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/01/12 8:46:13 AM
Once tried Logitech and particularly G700 there is no turning back. No other mice comes even remotely close when we are talking about mmo world and need for a lot of buttons PROPERLY situated. G700 is best ever and I'm 50 and tried really a loooot of mices for any purpose, besides is my job in computers industry. Really do not understand this fuss about Razor (again, I play only mmo so can not tell for other type of games). Ok, have not tested this one above, but have that horror of its predecessor with 12 side buttons. Here they are slightly better alligned, maybe this time would not sprain my wrist to use more then first 6. |
