But after getting my first character to lvl 10 I was sorely disappointed by the reality of the in-game economy.  I had some gold saved up and wanted to buy things.  I then find out you need the blue gem currency (I don't recall the specific name) to buy anything and you can only get it two ways, grind the equivalent of dailies, or buy it with real money.  The in-game auction house runs solely on the blue gems as well.  And after doing about 30 minutes of my own research I realized all the gold I was hoarding on my character (because that's what you do playing a DnD table-top game) was virtually worthless.

 

For me that is an utter failure in the design of the game economy.  It took me about five minutes to delete all of my characters and uninstall the game.

 

I will never look back and PWE can kiss my ass.  Sadly that means Cryptic might as well be dead to me as well.

Wow, you bothered to delete all your alts from hated game, was not enough only to unistall and forget?

The planets suck, look awful and are boring.

mob AI is simplistic and boring. Standing around in the environment like puppets.

No immersion, worlds are dead, no day night cycles

Flashpoints get repetitive

 PvP four or five warzones, repetitive, no open world PvP incentive, boring too

 No space sim in a star wars MMO, lazy

 but voiceovers, lots of voiceovers in boring, static cutscenes without camera movement

 all packed up in a nice dated graphics package and terrible engine

 

 

Then why be on here trashing the game? If you don't enjoy it, go focus your time, energy, and effort on something you enjoy! Or have you already done that and you need to now go hate on stuff with all the extra time you have?

Excactly. I will never understand why people does not spend better their time. All goes to hate instead of enjoyment.

Of course nothing above is true, actually opposite. Except for pvp I would not know, I do not pvp.

The ride has to be enjoyable for that to happen. Killing monster for weeks without any discernable improvement, or new abilities is not that fun.

Fast leveling is more fun is not because you get to end game faster. It is because you get a new ability (or power up) to try out more frequently, and you get to fight new tougher monster in new areas faster.

Khm, yes, ... but difference is then that you will get all abilities faster. And then? Sooner or later there is some end to abilities, you can not accumulate houndreds of them .... Game must be fun. So far best ever for me is swtor, leveling is not fast, leveled my 8 alts to 50 in aprox 7 months, but I have enjoyed ride, did nearly all quests, ... shoting is fun, using lightsaber, ... Same for wow. And few others.

Do not agree with OP at all (but I'm sure there are such games, but I do not play them, I play only swtor, wow, aoc, war, gw2, ...).

But not sure why should I bother proving him, because I have impression he made religion out of his opinion. And with religion no proves helps.

You have my full support and could not agree more. Really hate F2P (that actually NEVER is free for real, at end cost more then normal sub all inclusive). And I hate people have no problem to pay many times this import for smoking and drinking, but have problem paying sub for great dedication of entire staffs that create games I have so far enjoyed a lot in free time.

i m an 8 years wow player and in this forum i have defended many times wow, but not anymore. i m playing in an almost dead server and blizz does nothing. i m not willing to pay 20 euros for a single char transfer, leaving all my toons back, or 200 euros for my whole account. thats enough.

Never imagined is 20€ per transfer, that is really rip off that could cost them thousands of times what will they gain. 

I still love wow and will still return at some time but I indeed find I spend less and less time leveling. For now enjoying more SWTOR, many new games beign released in next months ...  

I play a lot but do can never plan in advance, so never raided but enjoyed a lot 5man's. That was up to WOTLk. Cata completely destroyed any my wish and I have been subbing only as long was fun leveling my alts. For the first time I admit with MOP I have stopped before leveling to max all my 10 alts. Wow for me is still fresh, fun, ... but now I have much broader selection of good or decent mmos to play.

Agree fully. :-) Never enjoyed so much in my life with any game of any kind, ok, maybe Wow. Actually have hard times to choose which one is better, but for sure Swtor have much better overall well known lore. Watched as kid first movie while never heard about wow lore until started to play. Great games both, top of the top.
