I used to love raiding in WoW. In fact my char is pretty pimped out mage in full set tier 2 Netherwind with a couple pieces from Naxxramas. Unfortunately I just can't commit anymore 4-6 hours of raiding daily anymore. I finally got a life :P |

Direct2drive is trying to peddle this game. http://www.direct2drive.com/6/927/product/Buy-Carpe-Diem:--Challenge-of-the-Legends-Download I think it's so wrong to try to pre-sell a game which is still in alpha. They should at least let people try the game first. I would never buy a game that tries to get people to buy them first before giving them a chance to join beta tests.... its just like a marketing scam. |

Well you can try out Phantasy Star Universe. It has big boss and big guns. No way FFXI is for casual gamers. That thing is like a vacuum that sucks out your life. |

Tymora is right. Just don't blame it all on SOE. The SWG change was crappy however that game has its own developers after Raph Koster left the team and things turned to crap. |

There are a lot more crappy games out there than DDO. DDO just got the heat because it is by a big name developer namely Turbine who used to churn out greats like AC1 and AC2 (who unfortunately ceased to exist). I guess they loss their touch. As for the worse games... there are a LOT some of them doesn't even have the opportunity to be given the limelight of community attention. But I must agree that DDO was a disappointment for me. I played the game expecting much much more but instead during launch my hopes were dashed. |

At first I was really excited about Vanguard. However the more I read about the articles and about Vanguard the less enthusiastic I become and it's not because SOE has anything to do with it. It's more like they're making the game into some sort of sadistic torture instead of making it a fun game. Mehh, that's just my impression but we'll see when the game actually comes out. |

You're better off spending $270 bucks worth of Keloggs Super K cereal. Investment in a healthy heart > Killer NIC |

One way to make an mmorpg more immersive is thru scripted instances. Example: Instead of BIGBADBOSS_001 just waiting at the bottom of the dungeon wait for his eventual demise by Mr_Knightinarmor_005963. He would be in his chambers pacing around or in his study planning more evil deeds and as soon as the heroes approaches his room, BIGBADBOSS_001 would sense the hero(es) and bust open the doors to his room, and give a thunderous roar in defiance and say stuff like "Time to die, puny humaaaan!" Then charge at the heroes.

First of all, please tell us what the game is all about because the website sure doesn't say much of anything. Remember, first impressions of a game lasts. I also find it ironic that you have an AD banner in your forums for Laputa: Castle in the Sky DVD and I sure hope you have licensed that name from Studio Ghibli or at least ask permission from the owner to use their copyrighted name for your project. |

Well my take on this is give them the benefit of the doubt. The space genre sure could use a few more mmorpg titles. I realize going into the mmorpg business is a very risky proposition that require absolute dedication, hardwork and luck. I wish you all the best Caelin79 in churning out a great product. Also forgive the doubting community here since quite a few people here have been burned by scammers peddling non-existant products (ie. Mourning). |

Actually guys there's a reason why the Xbox 360 has an open beta. The PC and PS2 versions have a shared server that isn't activated yet for North America. However the Xbox 360 has a server that is shared with the Japanese version of the game which ALREADY has an active server and such beta testing is possible for it. |

I haven't seen any mmorpg where player skill is more important than loot. It's always about loot, loot and more loot. And even in pvp games the better geared person will almost always beat out the lesser geared ones. A prime example of this is of course World of Warcraft. A lvl 60 mage in greens will have almost no chance of beating a lvl 60 mage in full set Tier 2. But of course this is fair. Life isn't fair. |

I'm pretty sure FFXI is a great game. In fact its an either you LOVE IT or HATE it type of game. Personally I hated FFXI altho I love the Final Fantasy series. Saga of Ryzom is another great game too with a very nice and friendly community to boot. |

If you read the article carefully you will notice that the accuser only won because the defendant couldn't afford to pay her lawyer and FAILED to show up on court to defend herself. The Judge had no choice but to award in favor of the accuser because the defendant was a NO SHOW in court. That is one reason that the justice system in America is not completely fair and if you know how to work the system you will win any lawsuits. |

Try Rappelz and FlyFF. They're free to play games and quite decent as well. Altho if you seriously want to get into the game you need to pony up some cash for their cash shops. Other than that they're decent games to tide you up until the next big thing appears. |

I played Everquest 2 and altho I liked the game what turned me off was the retarded inflation in the economy. The market is so overly inflated that you won't be able to afford to buy anything especially if you are a caster because all your books and spell scrolls are priced beyond your reach. Yes you will be scraping and be poor as a rat in your first 30 levels until you hit the higher level zones and earn your first plat which you will be spending to upgrade all your spells then you will be poor again. Also for some reason my 3.2Ghz, 2GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1900 GT rig runs EQ2 like crap. |

Saga of Ryzom is awesome. Another underrated game. Ryzom had probably the best community in all the games I had ever played (12+ years mmorpg/MUD player here and that's saying something). I remember an instance when one of the well known Ryzom players died in real life the whole community mourned for him. The game is fun however its a very group/party oriented game and there's a bit of a grind to it. But you can max every class and every trade profession no limit (125 levels+) with a single character, your time investment is the limit. You can customize your own spells. The game world is huge and there are a lot of monsters that are bigger than you are. |
