You all still don't seem to understand what exactly we are saying. You are imaging randoms camping you for hours on end for no reason other than to ruin your day. While that does occasionally happen, cause, well we can be assholes and make no apologies, it's not our focus. In simplest terms we are the Americans of the game. If we decide to declare war we don't line up and let the troops fire at will. We don't send a letter of warning. We just start killing your players. We don't care that you were waiting on spawns. We don't care that you were outnumbered. We don't care that you were outlevelled. |

Why does Europeans pay more for subscription?
General Discussion « Global Agenda 1/06/10 8:54:48 AM
There is a lot of taxing on games in the EU (and in AUS btw), so that needs to be taken in to consideration. That money is probably not going to the development company. If it were you would see a wider variance in how much that extra hit is worth. Its pretty standard across all MMOs to see EU and Aus with higher costs. |

I know open beta sessions tend to be more for game preview than anything else, but we are going to be doing ava testing all through jan and the final patch will actually be released and downloaded ON release day. It's not like buying a game at the store where they actually have to be done 2 or 3 weeks ahead of release. We have a full month of actual testing (both game mechanics and stress), so if you are planning on prepurchasing just to try the gameplay, please don't. I, for one, don't want you in the beta taking up a slot which would otherwise be filled with an actual tester. They are already probably going to have to remove some beta testers to give slots to preorder buyins. |

They are all combat related, but beyond that I cannot specify. 3) Yes. 4) I have no idea what you mean haha. If you mean with other people, there is no solo pve. |

nonononono, GA servers are 100% inhouse hosted by HiRez |

Noway, real shooter players dont need 'aim assist'. Also STO looks meh. Wouldn't say terrible. |

hahah you guys have no idea. The ones who do get in will be all the sadder between beta weekends. Once you play you will be more addicted than you think. |

I srsly doubt that date. But you never know. |

The entire subscription metagame is agency (or groups of them called alliances) versus agency. The pvp is done in instanced format, but the continuity changed depending on whether you are using subbed content or unsubbed. The unsubbed plays just like tf2, cod, mw1/2 etc in that each battle is a separate scenario (with the exception of character progression far beyond other shooters games). Subscription battles (AvA) are battles for land control. So each battle has literal consequences on the world map and for your individual agency/alliance. As for FFA, it is most decidedly not. In fact just the opposite. It is HEAVILY team based. And not just that you have a team, but that you can work well with that, so tactics have a huge impact as well. |

Originally posted by crunchyblack There is a skills system. Not guild, agencies. They function the same as guilds in the non-sub game. But in conquest they hold territory, form alliances etc. For individual players? nothing. For winning the match you get extra XP and cash. Levels mean almost nothing. They really have VERY little important. So don't think of it in terms of a cap. And it depends on whether you subscribe or not. If not your endgame is basically TF2 with a lot more options, pve and character progression. If you DO subscribe you get all that plus territory control, base building, crafting (including vehicles) etc. |

That is def the case Relax. A newb player can easily kill a max lvl char if he is a better player. He won't have as much at his disposal to do it, but with the basic weapons its more than possible. |

Close but not quite right, the grid battles will be 12v12 except for base raid that will be 8-12 per instance of 60 v 60 teams co ordinated by one person aside who will assign members to squads and can switch during gameplay numbers from one instance to another prioritising areas that are failing and adjusting to attack and defending depending on how ur objectives change.
just thought i'd add that the 8-12 ava base raids will be more than just a standard instance as ur outcome in one instance will directly impact other instances such as disabling shields and defences by holding an objective in one to help your team in others. where did you see single grids would be 12 players? i was under the impression it would be smaller teams. |

On top of the already well described reasons for smaller fights, id like to add that the lack of open world in no way indicates a lack of content. There are a LOT of maps, and many of them are very well designed. If you look through the press and fansite kits there are tons of maps. |
