hmmm I downloaded the game...and set up a Acclaim account. But I don't see any way of actually playing the game without buying a subscription. So what am I missing? Do I need to buy a subscription to get 2 weeks free? I tried to log in using my Acclaim account but it just says wrong user name or password.
**edit* NM...I been trying since yesterday to log in,I guess the game was just down or whatever. I tried a hour ago,couldn't get in. Tried 10 minutes ago and got in fine. :) |

I wasn't a huge fan of the original eq1 expansion...but I would actually like to see Velious for EQ2. I know my girlfriend would,that was her favorite expansion for some reason. |

The game is still going strong from what I can tell...despite the idiots that keep saying the cards games and the in game store killed it. |

Very odd...I really love the TSO expansion hehe The Kunark expansion was a big let down for me...I don't feel it lived up to the EQ1 expansion at all. |

I was one of the highest level people early on my server...I played a enchanter named Slaine. I remember when I got Werewolf Illusion and running around and all the lowbies would run like hell from me lol I would run all over the starting area's terrorizing the low level people. And laugh when they would start shouting that they seen a "Slaine" monster.
Another funny one was I think the spell was called Minor Illusion. I started off a High Elf...if you was close to the entrance of the high elf City you would actually turn yourself into the whole building plus a huge amount of the zone wall. People would run down the middle of my illusion that I sat in front of the city entrance... slightly off to the side so they couldn't find the zone in. ;) |

I started March 16th,1999 on Solusek Ro. :) I really don't think I'll ever be back to the game though. I've been gone for 3 years or so. My girlfriend and I raided hardcore (Was in number 1-2 guild in the game for awhile) But just burnt out...I really loved the game and more or less all my best MMO memories are from EQ1. I started an Enchanter and played that solid for 3 years...but over time Chanter Mez,Stuns just didn't do anything for raids so switched to a Rogue.
We did quit the game and started back up several times over around 7 years time frame...The last time we joined back up to Hard Core raiding the passion for it just wasn't there anymore. And over time a lot of the people were turning mean and bitter. |

I had this experience in a few games I've played. Mostly FPS games...get dizzy and feel like I'm falling into the monitor. Oddly enough the first game I just absolutely could not play was the first Spyro The Dragon game. Man...I looked at the screen for longer then 5 minutes I felt like I was drunk. I never tried another of that series after that. |

The community is mostly what drove me away from the game. Pretty much the most immature gamers in any game. It doesn't matter if the people are age 10 or 50,it just seems like a disease,sooner or later most WoW players becomes asses.
The game has mostly turned me anti social...I could never ask any questions without getting at least 5-6 smart ass replies...if I was lucky I would have somebody answer me. I played the game since beta and it definitely wasn't always like this. In the beginning it was very pleasant.
Despite the horrible community the last nail in the coffin for me was Wrath of the Lich King,it was dreadfully easy...I don't find much enjoyment out of a game if you don't even have to try to earn epic gear. I'm not saying I'll never go back...but it wont be till next expansion at the earliest. |

Brigand are a very good class...can solo and are very welcome in groups and high dps like your looking for. |
