I have a 37 cleric, and am LOVING the game, still.

I don't craft much, or gather. I just kill stuff, both npc's and players, but mostly npc's. I do the quests that seem worth the trouble, but I'm just as happy to grind around an area.

I've been saying this since CB. Aion is NOT ground breaking. It is just a pretty solid example of the video game genre of choice.

Can Someone show me where that is on this chart ? www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/overview

NcSoft is losing money  and has been in decline since octobober, the only spike they had was before launch, before pre-orders. The truth of the matte ris after Aions lack luster sale margians , ncsoft is not doing well.  Great fluff article though, way to keep the spirits high for a title that is losing more subscriptions then Vanguard at launch.

Here is another chart www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/ncscf Again, they have been in decline for over a month now. The stock only oprogressed to 40% in the release date and already has dropped back down to 0%.  I'm baffled at how anyone can take any of Ncsoft's P.R. tactics seriously. All the information is online....

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this to you before, but, Janis did NOT write that song.

I'm currently a 29 Elyos Cleric. I have done SOME grinding, but I kind of like to grind a LITTLE here and there. The TG instance leveld me up from 25-28 in 5 days. In those 5 days I pretty much only logged on to do the instance, so the exp there was nice.

Post TG, is takeing me FOREVER, heh, to get from 29-30. I'm doing the  Eracus Temple, but like most quests, the exp is lame and the "awards" are even lamer. Not one of the Temple quest items is an upgrade for me, NOT ONE.

I DO LIKE Aion. I will most likely play till 50.

I hear FT is nice, and there is actually some lewts to be had there. I appreciate the list of other instances, because I was not aware of almost all of them.

I am a man. I am married. I do have a beautiful 4 year old daughter. I do work full time. I prolly play about 20 hours a week. I made it to 29......... If you come from EQ, this game will NOT seem like a grind. If your first mmo was WOW, it prolly will.

Just need to find the  real owner of IGe  or the company that own IGe and see how much NcSoft he owns .

Sorry to break the news to you, but, Janis Joplin didn't write that song. Cris Kristopherson did......

In all seriosness though, how hard and or expensive could it be for NCSoft to have someone monitoring the chat channels and banning Gold Spammers? I mean, what $10/hr? for someone to sit there and read the chat channels?

By doing nothing, nothing very effective anyway, they are condoning Gold Spammers. In that sence, NCSoft IS, YES NC SOFT IS, behind the gold sellers. Thier lack of effectively dealing with it is promoting it.

I think now the players are bored with the same things with the all online games. No matter how much they try to be different, they end up being all the same. Warhammer came up with the idea on pvp but it was a failure. I don't know AoC, so I can't say anything about it. There are some games, however, different in dynamics and goals; like Eve. But many of the games are based on the same assets: grind, quest, level, item, group, rank etc. The community needs a new goal, new purpose to play for. Some play for to be the best, some play for just fun. But there is no game -but one which I will not say its name- is balanced enough to satisfy all the players.

Sounds like you're discribing SWG. I just played that game to be there. I crafted and sold weapons. That was about it. I had a nice house w/ all the paintings in a house at a small town on Kauri. I had an awsome time playing w/ no real or fixed goals. 'Cept to make credits maybe.

Maybe make one type of channel that allows people to type domain names and monitor that channel for Gold Spammers. That way you are not forced to see the spam messages in general chat.

THis^^. They could see who's buying, or atleast reading that stuff too, maybe.

Rather disappointed with the game, for many reason but most importantly-

1. The leveling. After 20 theres no doubt about it quests become rare and the XP is lacking even from the ones you run into. Grinding isn't necessarily my thing. Though someone can argue that grinding mobs is no different than grinding quests but straight grinding is monotonous.

If you can't find quests after 20, you either don't know where to look, or you're just not doing the quests you have.  There are multiple level 20-ish quests in Verteron still, and Eltnen has quests from 20-30+. Theobomos also has numerous quests for the 20's.  Obviously once you get to 25 you can go into the abyss of which every 2 levels you pretty much get a whole new line of quests to start.  Don't forget to do all your campaign quests, because sometimes you need to do a campaign quest in order to open up a future campaign quest. Not to mention these give a LOT of experience.

2. Crafting and gathering. The game almost makes me feel like I need to level these two, and when it came down to it I had 200 Iron Ore that took nearly 30 minutes (Or more) to smelt into bars. There's an issue there. I've also heard of people spending over four hours just doing work orders to level their craft. This doesn't settle well with me. The drop rate on required fluxes is unsettling as well. I've had to drop over 100k Kinah on Fluxes just for a shot at making a blue item, just a shot...

Or maybe you should have friends and/or Legionaries that can give you fluxes and such... I've had NO problem what-so-ever with crafting, gathering, and fluxes.  Sure, I had to take a couple hours to get my gathering from 1-..somewhere in the mid-200's, but what other game has you level it up a lot faster than that?  My Legion members give me all the armor fluxes they receive, and I give them Weapon and Accessory fluxes.  Don't forget you gain a bit of exp as you're collecting and crafting, as well.  It may not be MUCH, but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

3. Bag room/space. Very lacking and you're expected to pay mass amounts of Kinah to expand your cube. My bags are always full because of the gathering materials/gems I'm always picking up while leveling.

There's a quest that gives you 9 free bag slots... so if it gets "too" expensive for you, you can do that quest.

4. Certain mechanics. In my opinion some abilities need to be taken off the GCD. Like a Gladiator's Crippling Cut for example. Sprint causes my character to fly across the screen occasionally (Well, more than that) when used. Ranger's Stunning shot deals 200-400 damage but I've have it crit over 1k. There was another post about this I believe. Random numbers are random and don't make sense.

Not sure about sprint, but I haven't heard my assassin friend complain about it.  But in terms of the lottery damage: What, you're sad that you can't 4-shot people?

5. Queues. I'm not into waiting 2 hours or more to get into the game. I'm not sure why they opened with so few servers, especially with the game being out for a while in Asia.

I never have problems with queues... I either go to log in about 30 min before I want to actually play, or I play later on.  Queues have REALLY gone down and they have opened more servers.  Not to mention, queues mean that the server is almost constantly full, which is incredibly important to the play-style of the game.

6. Channels in the 1-10 and 11-20 zones but none for the zones above that? It's hard enough to muster the intention of grinding, but when I do I have to worry about large masses of people all over doing the same.

Only problem there is with this is in The Abyss. Solution? Go elsewhere.  If you're still in your 20's, you can do the latter quests in Eltnen or do quests in Theobomos (of which Theobomos has 2 channels, btw).

7. Gold spam. This is out of hand. And I need to log onto their main site to place in a ticket! This is ridiculous. I can block all the spammers I want but it seems like theres an army of them.

This, I agree with.

8. Lag. Constant disconnections are happening left and right for many players. Once again, with the game being out for some time you would imagine they have a pretty hefty revenue to make the game smooth and solid, but apparently not. The other night the server randomly came down without word as well, which will also lead me to my next point

I've only been disconnected twice since I played the game (including headstart). Maybe it's your ISP? Heck, I'm on COMCAST.

9. Communication. When the server went down we received no word at all on the status of our server for 4 hours. When word finally came out, it was a Twitter update. This is very- VERY poor communication with customers. Forums were packed with threads and no one knew what was going on at all because after a certain point we couldn't even see the server lists. Another issue is there are no updates on the launch client. Nothing at all. When servers are down for maintenance.. I wouldn't know. It would just tell me I couldn't connect to the servers and kick me off the game. This causes a lot of confusion. Lastly, petitions need to be carried out through their website- wtf? I begin to wonder if they even have any game masters at all.

Again, this I agree with. NCSoft is lacking here.

10. As mentioned earlier. No in-game support.

But they sent me a survey! /endsarcasm

11. Chat. The opacity and font cannot be changed which is a bother for me as I find the text to be far too large and even with my chat filtered I find it difficult to keep up with legion/party/whisper chats. The lack of a command list irks me as well.

You're leaving for this?  You can change the text size, you can change the font colors, and you can create new tabs and unlock the tabs.

12. Triggered emotes- these are just annoying...

I just think they need to fix the ones that go off when you don't want them to.

13. Oh screw it, you get the point. I won't be returning until serious changes are made.

I doubt you'll be coming back, then...

Where or where do I get a quest that gives me 9 more backpack slots? cause thats the biggest issue for me sofar, that and the gold seller spam.

I too have had NO Q time. Can't for the life of me remember the name of my server though.

I've been playing Sacred 2. It's a Diablo clone. It's a lil buggy. Overall though, I really like it. The loot system and leveling system keeps me comming back for more.

I am a big care bear, as I've stated on this and other forums before. I am NOT worried about griefing in Aion. Why? Because that's part of this kind of game.

That having been said. It seems NC is takeing steps to make this game more pve friendly w/o haveing to change the game a lot, or w/o having to put in pve specific servers.

The game is not going to be compeltely care bear, and it's not going to be darkfall either. There will be places safe to pve, but they will not be the BEST places for exp. That's the game. Sounds good to me.

Hype or not ?

"Hype or not?"

simple: the answer is yes.

Your pets don't fly at all ever. So, you kind of have to consider that during flight. They will continue to fight for you on the ground though.

I must suxor at pvp, that and chanters suxor at pvp. I was attacked by a gladiator. I was unable to get off a single attack. I was stunned twice in once battle..... Later I was attacked by an assasin. Same story, stunned before I could do just about anything.

My pvp skillz are lacking. I did learn that I will no way play a chanter when we go live. Even when I tried to ambush a gladiator, I failed miserably. Atleast I got one shot off though.

I will play a cleric and one of the classes that can stun..... or am I jus too lame for this game?

I just got ganked in the abyss by what looked like 12 or so asmo......woot!? Heh.

alright, that was funny,.

My official list of problems with Aion...

Its not September yet.... *growl*

/end list

i've been sitting here reading all these "problems" and trying to think about what I dont like about Aion. I have not been able to come up with anything......

I came up with this same problem.

it never pays off Legolas.....couldn't resist. srry.

I have a 20 chanter in "beta" and the dps is ok. The buffs are ok. The healing is poor. So far I have an instant cast hot, and a low hp heal that takes 4sec to cast if I have my first stigma on. The first stigma increases heal cast time by 100% and attack dam by 15% so.....
